Same here, besides I dont have time for one either. I have Lacrosse every day, and on saturdays I'll usually have a game or a tournament for Lacrosse. And Im trying to find a job and get my license (for lifeguarding and driving) at the same time.

I dunno how your parents would respond to that one either BK, but I'm pretty sure I know how most of the dickheads around here would.

And to you last guys, are you seriously trying to tell me lacrosse and other shit is more important than a lady? WTF do they teach kids in school these days?

I'm not saying lacrosse is more important than a woman, it's just a sport I'm die hard for and I don't have time right now. I'll begin dating once the seasons over.

I'm 14.
As for girlfriends... heh. I have mixed feelings. The last girlfriend I had dumped me after three months because I didn't e-mail her while I was on vacation. Summary: The ride was fun, but at the end the track shattered and the cart collided into a gigantic stack of dynamite.

I have tonnes of time for my girlfriend, my hobbies, school, chores, my band, and my other friends. I guess I just know how to balance my time. The thing I don't understand about your views is how you say that every relationship only lasts a few weeks. Here I am, 16 years old, and I'm going on 4 months with my second serious relationship. My other one lasted 8 months. I don't know where this 2 weeks thing comes in. Either way, I need a girl in my life in order to feel normal. I guess I just like feeling important to someone.

I feel sorry for you guys who speak out of bad experience.

I of course don't have a girlfriend, since I am only 13. This is because I am, by almost anyone's standards, a geek. You might think, "Well, as long as you are a nice, good person, people will like you for who you are." Well, this may be true for someone who is in high school or their twenties, but the problem is, people in 7th grade are SO DAMN SHALLOW. Besides, the most people do when "going out" at this age is walk to the Friendly's restaurant down the street from school. I believe if people are mature enough, they can have a steady relationship in high school, or sometimes even 8th grade. But, until then, people will still pretend to date. I do not feel the need to have a girlfriend, because judging by the way most 7th grade "relationships" go, it wouldn't be worth it. Chatting online and getting $5.00 chicken fingers at the neighborhood eatery just doesn't appeal to me. When I tell people this, they just call me weird, but I don't care. To quote Paul McCartney, "I used to think the people doing weird things were weird, but now I realize the people who call them weird are the real weirdos."

I feel ya, buddy. 7th grade totally blew for me in terms of relationships, too. Just don't bother with them yet. Things got better in 8th grade, on account of I changed schools, probably. I have to agree with you that there aren't a lot of things to do with a relationship. I just did a few things like go to parties that my friends were having, and although that was pretty fun, I think things would just get better once you can drive. People also take relationships more seriously at that age, usually. So, a relationship can be fun and successful, but I just have to say, it isn't worth the risk of getting your heart crushed if the most you're going to do is fake a yawn to put your arm over her shoulder at a movie theater. I would just wait until high school at least if you're going for a serious relationship. People will also realize what asswipes they were and accept you for who you are (mind you this is based on my 17 year old sister's words, but from what I've seen, it all seems true). Good luck with whatever you do, man.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread, but in a topic about age, what do you expect? Well, thanks VoLT. Sorry, everybody for veering so off topic, but the thread was bound to go straight to hell from the beginning.

Since the thread has migrated, I'll go with the flow (as I sip my Guinness) and comment on the whole teen dating thing.

I didn't have an actual, serious, steady GF until I met user #3.

My age at the time? 20.

I didn't have any significant relationships of any kind until I started college.

Middle school is for playing D&D with your buddies and HS just sucks balls. College is where it starts getting good.

^^ This is why we love this guy. ompa will appreciate this.

I was going to say something about the futility of relationships in hs and ms (due to the common stupidity shared among students) but I didn't know how to phrase it.

I don't think being a child or being in your teen years sucks at all. Neither do any of my freinds or people I know.

Yeah, middleschool sucks big time. But you know what? People really don't get a whole lot better in highschool. They do improve, but you're likely still going to be a "geek". Just gotta find a group of friends who is down with that. Make it through highschool, then you're set.

It's not so much that teen years sucks. For me it's the age limitations. I'm 1 1/2 years ahead in highschool so I have a grand total od 2 semesters left in school before I'm graduated...And I'm 16. I'll have just turned 17 when I graduate. I work what basically is a full time job. I pay taxes. The problem is that I feel and act much older then I should because I haft to. Hence when I feel like going and seeing an R rated movie my age holds me back. When I want to go and buy a vehicle I can't, because you must be 18. When I go to college I'll be the youngest by at least 2 years in the feild of study I'm goinng into. It's not so much that I have a lot of hobbies or that I don't want a relationship. It's that I don't have time for things that don't have much meaning. And I don't think I'll be able to find a guy at my age right now that would understand why I do the things that I do. They are still immature and still like to play all the time. Hence why most of my 18 year old guy friends have 14-15 year old girlfriends. As for you younger guys, don't rush into the dating scene. It's not all it's cracked up to be.

Yeah, I'm in college and now working, and I'm still a geek, thats something some people have to come to terms with. It's not that bad...Like I've said before, if anyone gives you shit about being a geek remember that all of their base are belong to you.

On the Girlfriend thing, I think people put far to much stock in relationships. You guys gotta watch less movies, and stop taking books so friggin' seriously. You'll end up with someone when you end up with them. There's not nessecarily a time and date, but don't sweat it.

But because this thread has gotten about as gay as it can get, I will put in a new comment to hopefully regain it's glory. Japanesse beer is evil. Especially if you drink two duces in an hour.

Talio.

You're right. And yes I know that I will always have the Viking and Uncle Pinney to beat up the guy that breaks my heart ;). Don't get me wrong. I'm a geek as well and I like being a geek. Having fun is great, but you gotta know when it's time to be serious. I'm not looking for a relationship. But if it just so happens to hit me in the face....more power to it.

Don't forget Mexican imports too.

I was beginning to thing Corona in Spanish meant "stomach cramps". I will NEVER again drink even one. EVER.

Corona is what I drink 90% of the time. Mainly because its Coors, Bud, or Corona. Out of the three Ill take the cerveza mas fina, thank you.

Japanese beer may suck, but I loves me some sake.

Being 13 is fine, I just think school sucks. It's probably a pretty damn good deal, but I haven't been around long enouth to recognize it. I just think it's annoying to see all these people being cool and not even realizing that the moment they step out of their senior year of high school, no one's going to give a sh t. And I also feel sad about all the people who probably aren't even going to make it through high school. Being a "geek" is fine with me, I've got some good friends who are always going to far better people than all the one-dimensional, no-personality-just-money people. And those are the people I used to be friends with in 5th grade, before we all got put into our "groups" of cool and uncool.

EDIT: Whoops, no one comment on this, sorry Talio, didn't notice your post.

Don't worry about it. You played up being a geek, which is ok in my book.

Corona isn't bad. There are alot worse, but seeing as I've put enough Old E in my system to fuel a tank, my opinion is slightly skewed. I will say that I've never had a beer I down right didn't like. Some I don't perfer, but past Budwiser, I would drink them if it was there.

Personally, I'm a beer snob. Other then Yuengling (that really doesn't count though), I pretty much don't drink regularly distributed beer.
