I know many hundreds, and thousands of people who swear by it. Just check out any abstract artist on Deviant Art and you can be sure its a render in 3DSMAX thats been edited in Photoshop.Do you recommand 3ds max?

What sucks is it's just a modelling tool. I'm a big fan of Unigraphics and Autocad now.

3DSMax is pretty standard and easy to steal. Unless you plan on getting seriously into 3D modelling and are planning on purchasing a software set, I'd go with 3DSMax. Otherwise, probably Maya. I don't do much serious 3D Modelling, so I'm not the one to ask about this if the situation above is true.Have you ever used 3Ds Max? DO you think I should just forget it and find something else or should I get it?

This is the internet. Everything is free.
(Though I dont support piracy of software being used for things that may be distributed in any way.)

By free he meant easy to steal. 3DSMax is pretty popular, so as I said, finding it free is really easy. Gnutella software, Bit Torrent, arbitrary FTP sites... Really easy, if you don't mind the morals. One thing is I want to model thing like nerf guns. Also I am wondering is I could make something like a map with Gmax. Oh yea an Fuse, 3Ds max isn't free.
You'll probably spend about the same amount of negligible time getting and setting up a stolen copy of 3DSMax or a free copy of Gmax. Just the moral issue.
