Look, im new to modding, and im just so confused. theres just too much info here. if someone could tell me what are my two best options and approximate ranges i will choose one. sorry to be so persistant but im just really baffled by all this info.

How 'bout I say read the fucking site instead of telling us that your time is more valuable than ours?

Sorry to be such a bitch, but there is no one answer so do some research and play around with it yourself.

you didn't post twice I dont think. Do not use pvc with micro stefans use either cpvc, brass, petg or even copper when you need to.

Look as for adding brasss to a Split fire and using mirco stefans, vs useing 1/2 PVC and stock micros here is what you need to know. Brass and micro stefans will give you better range. What that range is will depend on how well you do the job, the legth of the brass, ect. ect.
The other advantage of using stephans is that the cost is much much lower than buying micros, and they are more durable, and less likely to have a hole blow out the side when used in higher powered guns.

Try looking at your Ace or Big R, It should be in some corner of the store in the metal section, by the springs and such.

Ack. Ack. Ack.

I'm sure that was copper. Brass is sold in 1/32" increments. Read the DAMN WRITEUP. You use 9/16" brass. If it doesn't fit...

1) Airsoft999, where the FUCK did you get those ranges from?? 16" of brass getting 185-206' ??? what gun? We're talking about a SF here, so stay relevant.

2)Im going to clarify barrel materilas and dart combos for you because im bored.

1/2" PVC - Fits stock mega darts, larami darts, and homemade 5/8" stefans

Brass/copper/ .5" CPVC - fits stock micro darts, homemade 1/2" stefans.

now 1/2" PVC is also big enough to fit an entire stock micro dart inside. that means teh rubber tip at all, but isnt always the best fit.

Going with brass/copper/CPVC for micros will get you more range than PVC and megas simply because the with PVC and megas the darts are bigger with a loose fit. With brass/copper/CPVC the darts are smaller with a tight fit so you get mroe power and range. This is all assuming youre using stefans, not stock ammo. The range and performance of stefans is ALOT better than stock.

What you HAVE to do is buy your Foam Backer Rod first, and make a few darts. Then take a dart with you and test out different barrel materials for the best fit. You can ONLY use what fits YOUR darts.

If you have a Lowe's near you, get your 1/2" FBR from their. That brand FBR fits 1/2" CPVC very well ( its what I use ). I have two 6" CPVC barrels and im getting 80' flat. I also put on two 1/2" CPVC connectors so I can breach-load.
