So I have the problem of not having the proper screwdrivers for modding, which is holding me back from really modding my guns. Luckily I have found an alternative that won't get me in trouble, because my little brother is a snitch, tape. It sounds ridiculous but believe it or not if you put it over the external air release holes or vents it adds at least 1 or 5 feet longer range. That is how I made the raider cs 35 better. I was having problems with the range of it so I had an idea, since I can't access the air restrictors why not tape the opening to unclog clogs. It had holes on it I used scotch tape and voila, it added a yard or a yard and a half to the range. It experimented with other guns and the same principle applied. Anyone have a suggestion for screwdrivers, I hate my noob mods. Also when I get the screw drivers I need a suggestion for the doominator or springs. On more think which gun is best without modding? I promise I'll reply as quick as possible.

Another mod without screw drivers is heavily rubber banding a gun. So I have a dart gun from dollar general and I decided, I am going to mod this gun, Note I did this on Saturday. I added over the course if two days at least ten rubber bands and I think I can shoot over halfway across my calde sac, calle de sac? Before it could only maybe shoot across the length if my hallway and half of my hallway. It shoots like two lol. I want it to hurt but it doesn't yet. If I can post it I will.

Imo the best screwdriver is a micro for smaller screws and a small sized screwdriver for the rest of the screws

That'll only work with the old N-strike mag-fed blasters that use a very inefficient reverse-plunger system.

As for a good stock Nerf blaster, I'd recommend basically any modern day (elite, modulus, etc) blaster that you like; they all basically preform the same (~60-70fps).

As for screw-drivers, if you can't bother going to the local hardware store then you shouldn't bother modding your blasters. It's not that hard to find a basic Philips head these days. Practically any store will have them for under $5.00.
EDIT: I just checked, and homedepot.com has the right size screwdriver for $0.87 No excuse now for not having one.

Thanks the only reason I can't go to the hardware store because I'm fourteen and I would get in trouble if I used my dads screwdrivers and got caught.

So apparently using a simple tool is a way to get in trouble; nice.

When you do get a screw driver it might need a little further tuning. Most of the micro screw drivers I've seen are still too pointy to fully engage nerf screws - which strips the heads instead of turns them. You'll need a hand file, sand paper or even a small patch of semi-smooth concrete. Remove a screw and sand/file down the tip of the screw driver until the nerf screw can sit on it without wobbling around. The flares on the screwdriver tip needs to reach all the way out to the edges of the screw head.

A good screw driver is the single most important tool a modder can have. It sucks to be so limited now, I hope you're able to figure it out. Maybe if you can convince your dad to "help" you mod, you'll be allowed to use his tools under his supervision and find a father/son bonding activity (or better yet - he'll get you your own tools so you don't have to use his! Heck, my 6 year old has his own tool box full of real steel tools and he keeps them together and in great condition. (harbor freight ftw!)))

Sadly, I can't think of a single significantly effective mod that doesn't start with opening a blaster up to get at it's internals. Scratch that. You can go old school and "band" some blasters. You can run bungees or rubber bands from the barrel to the pull rings of nitefinders/firestrikes/messangers... (pistols with an exposed pull ring). That'll let you significantly increase the power to the plunger head without even opening up the blaster. Just make sure the right and left bands are pulling evenly on the ring or you'll loose power / break your priming rod. If you add too much pull, the additional force will over power the catch spring so you'll still have a limit there.

#1 phillips screw drivers usually work in NERF-sized screws. You can get a set with one in it FOR FREE from harbor freight with the coupon (buy one item, get this free; if you google it the coupon should pop up). If you buy a $0.50 razor knife, you can get the screwdrivers free. You can also use a 20% off coupon on the knife to bring it down to $0.40 for a knife and 5-piece screwdriver set.

You can brass an Xtreme Blastzooka with just a length of 9/16 brass, a serrated pocket knife, and electrical tape.

Relax. I FUBAR'ed a AT cs-18 by putting the plunger in upside down. It's part of the learning process. Recons are good for learning on; the best are Mavericks, Nitefinders/Firestrikes, and Longshots. NFs/FSs because they're the basic direct plunger system with very little that can go wrong, and LSs because they're a basic direct-plunger box-fed system (like a Retaliator) in a massive shell with plenty of room to work. Mavericks are old, with crappy performance, and a suitable victim for rookie modders. (My first successfully modded blaster was a standard Mav: Pennies, drop cylinder, AR removed.)

Note: "That's the way to do it!" is to be read in a Punch style voice (Punch & Judy).

even if you 'ruin' a blaster, don't throw it away. Dead blasters are full of parts that can be used for foul necromancy when you have some more experience.

Nite finders are easy to upgrade. Deploys and Mavericks are full of useful parts if you have yellow ones (the other colors have some value).

email the pictures to yourself (email them to your email address) and when you get on a computer again just drag the photos and drop them onto the desktop and then go to your post and enter your massage then post it then edit it go to use full editor button and go to attach files and then add the photos and then click submit modified post and it will have the photos

Thanks. Update on the rubbers bands my brother cut them off. I appreciate everything you post to help me! I have two nite finders at home! I didn't know I did until I looked it up. They are great by themselves. You can calibrate the light to align where you shoot. After some distance is added in to effect... it is way less accurate. That's really the only problem with it.

Well never mind the nite finder. I have the best un modded gun. It's that gun I rubber banded without them. I'll do the nite finder another time. I'm going to upload the gun I mentioned.

I dont think that image share worked. I think that's a link to your gmail account which we are all unable to access (and rightfully so). You can upload pics directly in your posts by clicking the little image icon in the reply or edit window. If you simply want to share your work (without expecting discussion and feedback to follow) you can share your mods here:
