Why not? It doesn't hurt the gun in any way that I could tell. Just plug it so you don't have to go through the trouble of opening it up later if you want to.

plugging the pump would not magically make 3 pumps NOT work. ALL plugging the pump does is allow you to get one notch MORE pressure in the gun by overclockings is 'safty capacity' by a little bit. Untill you get to 20 pumps+, plugging the pump has no effect, but if you want the exatra boost- do it.

1.) I don't need that extra boost.
2.) I am not going to go through the risk of blowing the airtank yet... not until my friend gives me his "defective" Titan <_< ...

...he lost the missle.

Damn you, I wish some idiot around here would buy N-strike and lose the missle... Anyways, just plug it. I just tried 3 pumps, no way I'm getting 90 feet.

God, I feel like a post whore, I gotta stop posting...

Well, I did cut the first air restrictor, but I was wondering if there were others. My messured ranges did inclued a OP release valve plug. It still didn't make a difference. And 3 pumps should get near 90', Not 180' ompa.

Ompa: since my friend isn't including the missle, the gun's useless, and I'll give it to you <_<.

NSF: I know you're out there! If you didn't get rid of the air restrictor how are you getting good ranges? How are you getting 90 feet with 3 pumps?!

Frankly, i dont see why its so great getting good ranges with less pumps. I mean, you got a scout and a hornet to back you up just in case you miss. You could like just sit in the middle of the field and take your time to sharpshoot people, and not worry about having to run away when you miss. <_<

So you can sharpshoot more people ;)

I need a longer barrel. The current one, I get the same distance for 20 pumps as I do 30. The barrel's not getting the dart pressurize to the max before it exits the barrel.

Yeah. I think NSF, you should try 20 inches of SCH80 PVC with 1.5-2 inches of 17/32" brass in the rear. Just shove it in :P . Maybe a better alternative is 20 inches of PETG, if you have any.

Too late- I already pretty much tried it. 19 inches of sch80 pvc, with 1.2 inches of 17/32 brass in the back, Also a little porting at the front to make it quieter- it works, a bit. Makes it more accurate, but with a bit less range. I'd probably end up taking the range though, but I only shot it indoors, so I don't really know how much the range decreased by.

What works better, pvc or brass?

Ah, the age old question. Whatever fits better. But in this case, the two fit similar (At least for me). So I think SCH80 PVC is better due to te fact that most people can't get 16 inches of brass. I however, can, and it works like a charm- it fits perfectly in the PVC- no airloss. I'm using 15.5 inches, and getting an average of 195 feet. Slightly better than ompa's- partially because I used a SCH80 barrel stub... smaller diameter, so there is less that the air has to travel to reach the dart, resulting in more pressure. (Thanks to ompa for enlightening me on that info.) And I finally plugged the release valve. However, that is with around 20-25 pumps. I can get 100 feet with about 6-7 pumps, and I can pump at about 4 pumps per second- 100 feet in a little over 1 second. I like it. :P

I agree fully with Airsoft. Reason I used sch80pvc is because it's cheaper- I can buy 36inch segments of brass, but I mean, come on- are you REALLY going to be hitting people at 190 feet? 150, yeah, sure, it's still somewhat accurate, but at 190, it's a bit further off.

Ok, I'm just trying to find excuses for why I'm not using brass, but what the hell. Brass gives me better range too, but I'm going to stick with my sch80pvc, good range, cheap, and well, yeah, you know.

15.5 inch? Hm, that's somewhat in between my 14 and my 19 inch barrels...

Well, All you need to do to connect 2 peices brass the same size is to buy a peice 1/32" bigger.

I guess its settled then, 3 people getting 150-200' ranges can't be in cahoots to lie about it, so I give in... I BELEIVE! heh :P

15.5 inches gets me maximum range... I started out with two 20 inch segments, and cut off .5 inches at a time. with testing 10 shots per length, the range increased by at least 6 feet 2 inches to 15.5 and 16 inches. You might get different results, but with me, 15.5 and 16 work the best.

I would've thought that air going from a larger sch40 segment to a smaller 17/32 or 9/16th brass could create MORE pressure, as the air suddenly has to be shot out of a smaller constricted point at speed, creating more pressure-- apposed to having the air hardly have any differential at all between the sch80 stub and the brass...

Eh, the 17/32 holds my darts rather tight. The SCH80pvc means that there's less room for more air to be in. At least that's what I'm pretty sure is what's going on. Either that or I'm an idiot, and I really would not doubt the latter.

I would have to make 2 barrels exactly the same, accept one with sch80 and one with sch40 and compare, but SOMETHING tells me the difference is MINISCULE. I bet this baby would do WELL with my barrel assembly on it eh? No need to reload for a good 10 shots with little range loss, hell even if you had to lose 20ft for that, it would completly be worth it.

Miniscule? I'd say MAYBE a 2ft difference with that short of a piece of pvc.

Will there be any problem if I use a larger piece of brass to connect 2 9/16th pieces?

yes. The dart might not go into the other piece, unless you sand the inner of one, and outer of another, and then put it on.
