I want to make a big salvo shoot two tanks like a shotgun but I have no experience with airblasters and especially back pressure tanks. Basically i want to know what blast button would work to fire two tanks at the same time. I saw an old video of 'bOOm13' where he had his on his 'nerf big bad bow/ big salvo mod integration' which I wish to do the same as well but I dont know what the button was he used. He did have a link to his write up but it says post no longer exists.

Thanks in advance

If you don't need two separate trigger pulls, you could use a lever trigger to push the two buttons at about the same time. That may also work to make it a two stage trigger pull. Alternatively, using one tank, you can use pipes to route the air to two (or really however many you want) barrels at once.

Edit: typically, back pressure air tanks have attached blast buttons.

Do you have a link to one? I think it would require a button to throw air in low pressure against the oprv inside the tan (i think that is how it works)

You're better off just pulling the trigger very fast on two buttons. Something like what bobololo made once called the "panther shotgun". He has a video about it.

Do you know what these buttons or valves are known as though? Links or names would be great

They're just a type of pushbutton valve with the output venting to atmosphere. Blast buttons are typically designed such that the output can't be salvage for anything, but really any pushbutton valuve with a decent flow rate should work. We usually take them out of Hornets or Blastfires, which is where they get the name "blast button". Both of those blasters had a series of backpressure tanks with the trigger on a ratchet to fire one at a time, or you could push the "blast button" to dump the air from all five (Blastfire) or six (Hornet) tanks at once.

I'm a little confused why people are telling you to use two separate triggers though. Yes, it allows for more airflow and hence a faster release from the front of the tank, but I would think it wouldn't be a big deal if you're only using two tanks. Are you planning on having any other system in here for these tanks, or is the blast button all you need?

I want to make a big salvo shoot two tanks like a shotgun but I have no experience with airblasters and especially back pressure tanks.

That's not that complicated to do, but you will need a somewhat expensive valves to accomplish it if you don't want to lose the ability to trigger those same valves in sequence from the original trigger.

You either need TWO 3-port valves (or slide valves) that are mechanically linked together, or a single 5-port valve. These valve types when actuated will block off the "supply" side tubing, then vent the "output" side of the tubing that leads to the tank out the EXHAUST port on the valve. That will cause the Back Pressure Tank(s) to fire. Releasing the actuation will reconnect the "supply" side tubing to the tanks themselves and block off the EXHAUST port.

The above is exactly how my "BOB" project worked.

http://nerfhaven.com...topic/8788-bob/

Back Pressure Tanks are "fired" by venting all the air in their supply tubing to atmosphere. So you can isolate them from each other using check valves, then trigger them individually with any pushbutton valve ahead of that same check valve. This setup however means you can't fire them by dumping the air from the supply side of the check valve.

So would one of these work? Clippard MAVO-3 3-Way Stem Valve then put in in the place of the trigger valve already on the big salvo. Thankyou for replying all, just newbie rules wouldnt let me post a reply to your comments for over 1 day. I dont know how to resolve this though.

He probably used a blast button fro a hornet, as others have said.

Following Slug's advice is probably best and easiest.

You could also try making your own:

http://nerfhaven.com...e-blast-button/(made to fire a single tank; might be able to trigger two tanks at once)

http://nerfhaven.com...eqfd-imitation/(larger, high flow variant)

http://nerfhaven.com...release-valves/(multiple stages [press a little bit to fire one tank, more to fire the second, etc...or just jam the button all the way down to fire nearly simultaneously])

So would one of these work?

I think you need to make a diagram showing exactly what you want to accomplish. Or outline it in more detail.

Do you

1. Want two tanks to fire at the same time every time?

or

2. Want two tanks to have the option of being fired simultaneously, or in sequence from the original trigger?

If #1 is all you want you don't actually need anything other than a barbed cross fitting. Use the barbed cross fitting to connect both sets of tubing from the stock trigger valve for a pair of tanks together. When you reach these tanks in the firing sequence of the stock trigger, both will fire together.

Accomplishing #2 is more difficult and requires what I outlined in my previous reply.

If you don't have the stock trigger valve at all and you're just trying to fire two tanks at the same time you can do that with any type of push-button valve. You can even do it by hooking those tanks up to the tank of any other blaster, much like I did with my volley titan.

Captain slug I would basically like to fire them both at the same time. I do have the original trigger yet I would like to activate then both at once as it sounds less complicated. so in reply to your question I would chose option #2 to use a push button valve. I haven't any access to a hornet or any other nerf type blast button so I will need to buy a proper push button. The two tanks will be placed on the clips of a big bad bow and then the aim is to have the push button on the side of the gun. I don't really have a schematic for this so I just kinda need to know what push valve to use and the tubing and connectors.

I do have the original trigger

You can use that. Just plug all the extra lengths of tubing and tee the two tanks you want to use together off the same output from the trigger valve.

Alternatively pretty much any pushbutton valve will work for what you want to do since you're only trying to trigger the pair of tanks together. This setup doesn't require anything more complicated because you're not powering anything else from that same pressure source.

if you need some inspiration, check out these modifications.

okay I read through both the posts and I think that I understand the set-up. Now correct me if I am wrong but I wont need check valves as I am not staging my tank refilling. At the moment I just own the big salvo (working completely fine) and the big bad bow. So I presume that I just need the button, tubing and connector T's and elbows? Also I don't know if you can help but I only have one more reply left so after that I wont be able to continue this discussion. Is there any way that I can speed up this approving? thankyou very much for your time and help towards a fellow nerfer.

That's all you need. The pump that comes with the blaster includes a check valve so you don't need an extra one since the pump is only for priming the big salvo tanks.
