Come on now Cx, is it really all about the winning? Aren't we all here to just try to get along and help eachother?

When I hammered 6" copper barrels into 1/2" PVC stubs, it took me a good 10 minute to get them in.

It's a good idea to sharpen the edges of the copper before-hand, because I noticed that the coppe shaved away the PVC making an excellent fit. However, getting it out is nearly impossible.

Eh, you have to be careful though, or you risk mis-shaping the copper...

So really the measurement are not really what they say they are?

Bingo.

1/2" SCH40 PVC is around 5/8" ID.
1/2" SCH80 PVC is around 9/16" ID.
9/16" K&S brass is 17/32" ID.
17/32" K&S brass is 1/2" ID.
.
.
.

ad nauseum.

Nothing is the size it says it is, except for brass - and that's talking about OD so you need to subtract for wall thickness.

Hehehehe... I just find it amusing how different the poll results for this question are between different sites.

The last time I saw this poll, about 6 months ago on NHQ, PVC and CPVC were about 80% of the responses.

What about aluminum? I've used it on 3 guns now and am working on another with it. I'm not sure the size it was listed as but it fits my 1/2 inch stefans perfectly.

PissBacon, could you tell us how you got a hold of some aluminum of that size? I have only found aluminum up to 1/4" diameter.

Other than the smaller Al tubing in the K&S rack, I've also seen (and purchased) a 6' piece of 5/8" ID Al tubing which was in a rack near the SCH80 risers at Ace. It's perfect for megas so I picked it up in case I ever transform my homemade for mega stefan capabilities.

Sorry I'm unsure of the origin of this aluminum. I've had about 12 feet of it in my garage for as long as I can remmeber. It's nice because it's so light, so I can add long barrels on without weight issues.
