Okay, so at the thrift store I saw a box of nerf guns for $20 all together.  A Vulcan EBF-25, Recon CS-6, and one that just says Dart Tag on it but when I looked online it appears to be a Speedload 6.  All of these are complete and seem to work.  The few rounds in the box were in bad shape and I have no idea if they are even the proper rounds.  there are some pink ones with round black heads, red ones with red heads in a six pointed star shape, and pink ones with suction cups on top.  I know nothing about names of the bullets and which ones I should buy for which gun the next time I go to Walmart.  I want avoid jamming as much as possible.

Also, on the recon, I don't really understand how this flip-up sight works.  I know it is just me being dumb, but I don't get what this little round bit that slides up and down the sight is used for at all.

I don't know anything about modding or if I should even mod these in any way.  Can any of these be used with suction cup bullets so my 6 year old nephew can stick shots to walls?  He likes that.  The more round tip ones would be more for me and my friends.  I am tired of being stuck with his spare gun with the little bee on the logo.

Pictures would be nice but I'm gonna go off the assumption that the pink ones with black heads are whistler darts, red on red are streamline darts, and the suction ones may be USCs.

For darts I am going to reccomend you use eBay darts since they're way cheaper. Here is a link to a guide on eBay darts. I would reccomend getting USCs, they are great for me, they sometimes stick to walls but most suction darts don't.
If you have to get store bought, BuzzBee ultra tek suction darts are pretty decent bang for the buck. Cheaper than nerf and compatible with most nerf, but GET THE GREY ONES THAT ARE STREAMLINE. Don't get the old ones, make sure they look like the one I linked.

the flip up sight, when down is a battle sight. Than if you have it up, the peephole you look through and align with the front post on the end of the recon barrel. Than you can adjust the height of the sight, the higher it is when you align it with the front barrel, the further it will go. These are ineffective in actual nerf combat and sights are kinda useless since it isn't pinpoint accurate. Most blasters are point in general direction and shoot, unless you use USC's because those kinda have a grouping in my and a few other peoples experience.

Your current blasters are kinda eh to mod, you may as well sell those and try to flip profit and get something like a DartZone Magnum for your nephew because those are harder to jam since it's not a magfed, and more powerful than Nstrike and don't need to be modded. (80ish FPS)
Otherwise, I'm obligated to nominate and reccomend the amazing BuzzBee Sentinel. This hits from 80-100 FPS stock, and 100-120 AR removed. (compare this to the average 30ish FPS all your current blasters are shooting) and the blaster is easily modded. A guide for modding a sentinel can be found here, and alternative to the glorious BuzzBee Sentinel are anything ultra tek from buzzbee.
(Other good blasters are [and in no order] the Ultra Teksnlpe,  Champion,  m16 blaster, Destiny,*  Reaper,  Brute, cyclonic, and if you prefer mega, the Boss,  the Tyrant,  and the Baron]These are all cross compatible with nerf darts AND mags. For both mega and elite. #teambuzzbee

*could not find destiny purchase link but it's available I hear.

http://imgur.com/a/v1bpE These are what the box came with.  I am not sure about flipping these guns as they seem fun.  they are just for me and my friends messing around.  The vulcan may not be great but I have wanted one for years cause of the look.

Can I use any other rounds though or do I have to use these ones?  By which I mean, with these specific guns, which rounds can they NOT use and which can they use?  I need the ones that are compatible.

By the way, at my friend's place we are stupid and play indoors with a fog machine.  This is what he wants though.

the Recon wont rack the suction cup darts I have though.

Update:  Those suction cup ones jammed in my speedshot 6 and I cut my finger a bit trying to get it out.

Update:  Unjamming that one dart made it no longer able to fire.  I think it may be the glue on the head so it no longer makes a seal but, I don't know.

Nothing?  I just want to use the appropriate darts in the right guns so I don't jam up.  I linked to what I have.  I waited a day.  Yes I see the thing about those black sticky darts and USC but I need to know if they can be put into all three guns, or if I need something different for each one.

The USC darts can be used in all of them and I believe the other kind as well.

Sorry about that.  Okay so I should just buy these?  http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_odkw=koosh+darts&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.A0.H0.Xnerf+sucker+darts.TRS1&_nkw=nerf+sucker+darts&_sacat=0 Are they all the same and just different colours, or is that red one the most recommended?  They seem fun, but I am also curious on whether or not I should buy an extra ammo belt for the vulcan.  So I shouldn't bother with those ones with the round tips then and just get these?  The red ones in the photo I linked with the 6 pointed cross heads still baffle me on where they are from.  Oh also, my vulcan jammed and it was a real pain getting the dart out of it.  It was stuck in there good and there is no easy way to clear that gun.  Still though, I like it.  I guess I should stop loading the darts that came folded in half, though I was able to fire them before.

All three of those blasters should be at least semi-compatible with the elite generation of darts and knockoffs of many sorts. IIRC, the vulcan also could use the dart-tag and old-school style darts. The dart-tag blaster was designed for those, but I've got one and it uses elites OK ish. UCS's are a favorite here on NH becasue of their accuracy, so-called 'Koosh' darts are favored by flywheel users. The cross-darts you describe sound like K'nex/knockoffs, which I've heard good things about as well.

That said, all three are older generation blasters and aren't as reliable as newer generation blasters with *any* darts.

Ok, so I was wrong. the suction dart is just an old suction, and I have no idea what the red one is.
All of them should be compatible with modern darts, worst case scenario take out the dart peg for the recon and vulcan.

I would get the orange USCs and in the cheapest variant. Easy to find and the cheaper the better. However you may mix them up with streamlines, so idk. I'd just throw the streamlines out or use them as packaging once you get USCs, those are really great. Not sure about comapatibiltity with the speedloader though.

Anything with a streamlined body and 7.2 cm long on ebay should be compatible with everything, anything with a larger head than the body won't work well in anything with a breech like a recon.

I just tried the red ones I have in the speedloader one and it keeps bending as it is loaded and jams up constantly but they word fine in the recon.  http://imgur.com/a/DDeKm here is a picture of the dart image on the dart tag speedload 6.  The recon also says streamline darts only.  So just get the USC and they SHOULD work with all three as it is a universal dart, right?  I know these are older generation but for $20 for all three, and just casual use with three or four friends in an indoor area, it should be fine.

There are two fundamental 1/2" stock darts: those that have a collar on the head (e.g. traditional suction cup darts or whistler darts), and those that don't (e.g. streamlines).

The darts you describe with an "X" on the top are Dart Tag darts. The "X"s are hooks for a hook-and-loop system. The Speedload 6 and the Quick 16 only work with the collar-head darts (and maybe even only Dart Tag darts, it's been forever since I've used one). Meanwhile, most blasters that use N-Strike magazines use collarless darts because the bolt system requires the maximum diameter on the dart to be 1/2".

Unfortunately the Speedload 6 has a reputation for constantly jamming darts everywhere in its mechanism so trying to pick up special darts for only that blaster is probably not worth it.

Well, I am having fun with the speedload 6 and I don't want it just sitting around and collecting dust.  It seems to be able to load collar head suction darts so I guess I have to find those.  I only know how to get those streamline USC ones.

Not true! I have a speedload, it feeds streamlines as poorly as any other dart.

This is true. Load carefully.

The speedload 6 seem to be able to handle those suction cup darts I show.  The ones with the fat heads.  It is shooting it out with no problem really.  Where do I get more of those then cause the more streamlined things are jamming constantly, unless I side load through the breach.

Speedload 6 sounds like the jamload six lol.

The fathead ones aren't compatible with breechloading ones. I'm not sure if anybody is still making or selling fathead darts.
Also by the way, if you think that BuzzBees already cheap blasters are too expensive, get something from Dartzone. They have like a 3 blaster pack for 10$ or something like that,

You already linked something to get good streamlined darts. The USCs here, just click any, prolly the cheapest

This is 31.60 USD for 1000, these darts get cheaper and cheaper

so those fat headed ones I linked are simply impossible to get?  Cause they are loading into the speedloader and firing just fine.  I guess I can try the USC and hope they don't jam.  Those red ones jam, I think, because of the weird heads.  Alright, I'll get a big pack of USC darts for now.  Thanks.

USCs I don't think will work in the speedloader 6 because they are streamlined like streamline darts so they can work in breechs. The speedloader 6 is kinda terrible, and again, Dartzone + Buzzbee newest lines have really good really, cheap blasters. USCs though are a great purchase

None of this is helping me get non-streamlined suction darts for the speedloader.  Telling me to get rid of it and get something else is not something I am interested in at all.  I will get USCs for the other two but I am not abandoning the speedloader.  With that cheap looking fat headed suction dart, it loads and fires just fine.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVFfQaPUiGI  This guy seems to really like the Speedload 6.  I don't understand the hate.  I just assume it is jamming cause I use broken dart.

I don't know how to make that into a working link on here.  Sorry.

You can't buy those kinds of darts anymore. All companies have moved to the streamline-lineage dart (or totally incompatible darts), and streamline-type darts don't feed great in a speedload 6. They'll feed, I've done it, but be ready for more jams than in your other blasters with any kind of modern dart.

That video is also from 5ish years ago, when the speedload was new and Elite wasn't a thing. Elite blasters are basically better in every way than the old-Nstrike/Dart Tage lines.

Oh, and that blaster with a bee in the logo is probably a buzzbee blaster, and if it's one of the new ones mentioned above, it may be higher powered than even the elite line.

Let me lead in by saying Welcome to the forum. If at any point in this post you feel I am being intentionally demeaning, please know that my main intent is to educate you in ways to get the most from this, and indeed any, forum.

First, it would be nice to see an attitude change. Whether it was your intent or not, your tone has been standoffish. You are asking folks to source products that are not readily available, and at that, ones you are extremely unfamiliar with apparently. I'd like to take a moment to thank Snoop for his input and help earlier in this thread, as his information was probably some of the best you'll get on the matter.

Second, the youtube link you posted is a video made by Lord Draconial (heretofore Draq). Draq is a youtube personality and general reviewer of nerf blasters, and, polarized community opinions aside, seems to end his blaster reviews at about the 15 minute mark. Most of his content in that vein seems to only cover superficial matters, and generally do not delve into subjects such as longevity and practicality. The dissenting attitudes about this blaster likely come from people who have owned, or are familiar with, this blaster and its various shortcomings. Please also consider that Draq runs a for-profit youtube channel, and regularly receives blasters free of charge from Hasbro for review purposes. This, whether intentional or unintentional, can, and often has, lead to reviews that appear biased to those of us who take deeper looks into these blasters. It would do you well to take his recommendations with a grain of salt in the future.

Third, You have asked for experienced opinions and advice, and have received them. You have also shunned said offerings, apparently because they did not align with the answer you desired. I am heavily in favor of a can-do and non-defeatist attitude, but one must also consider that such outlooks are not always correct, and often are entirely impractical. Take this example, for instance. If you owned, say, a Honda Accord, and were looking for advice on how to make it competitive with the Honda NSX, and were told by a lifetime F1 mechanic that it was unrealistic, if not impossible, shunning his advice would make you a petulant asshole.

Fourth, here are some links to darts that should probably work. You're welcome...

Please enjoy your time here. I look forward to any and all contributions you make to the forum in the future. Remember, the forum is a group repository of knowledge. The more work people put in at building the knowledge base, the better it serves the community.

Peace and foam flinging,

*sigh*
I did some googling, here you go
Amazon link
eBay link

I mean, I don't get your attatchment to that blaster. Hell, I bet if you keep thrifting you could find better blasters. I'd take a jolt over the speedloader because it just seems to work better. Thanks Dom for the recognition, I put like half an hour into that response to give a decent response and show lots of great easy blasters that are cheap, and now I'm feeling salty because I just realized that was all pointless. Again, Dart tag series is also pretty terrible. They need the old fat head darts, and that technology is outdated.

If you think that Buzzbee, the glorious cheap savior lord BuzzBee that's started the high FPS counter nerf scene is somehow too expensive, most of Dartzones stuff is under 20 dollars, and are also in a complete package. Here's a link to Dartzone. I haven't seen anything from the dart tag line outside of a speedswarm in my 3 years of combat because people come to realize they kinda suck.

Also guys. Are we really gonna do this. Lets not dracfight.
Reviews aren't the end all be all of a blaster, I'll just say that. Because one person likes it doesn't mean everyone else will.

I'm sorry for the attitude folks.

I understand the gun is outdated and those darts aren't really around anymore.  This is the only thrift store in town and the first time I ever saw nerf guns in it, and thus these are the first guns I owned.  I mainly bought them to just screw around with my friends when they have indoor fights at this one guy's house while the fog machine is on.  I like the feel of the speedload 6 and I figured it could be enjoyable for some target practice.  I don't want to chuck it in the trash or just have it take up space though so I needed a way to justify the money spent.  I am not trying to be competitive with other models really, and the kind of guns my friends are using are these single shot buzzbee pistols (I think buzzbee) that look like they would break if you look at them funny.  I can't afford to invest a lot of money in different guns, and don't have the space.  Rather than the honda accord example, it is more like trying to find a way to configure a program on an older OS, then get told to just spend the money to upgrade cause it is easier even though I don't have the money to do that.  I really can't just drop $20 very often.  I give myself a $150 monthly budget for luxury and that includes gas for my truck.  So, $20 for the three guns, plus two board games I wanted that were complete, were a great find since this thrift store is small and only really gets scratched DVDs, old clothes, and kitchenware.

I just hate to think I wasted my money, since even though they are not top quality, I enjoy the recon and the vulcan.  Sure their FPS or whatever is low but I am not doing war games out in a big field.  This is indoor close quarter stuff.  I simply don't need something that shoots a hundred feet.  I figured there had to be someone still making those darts, even at a dollar store or something.

I have to hunt around on ebay.ca, not .com cause I am in canada and some things simply don't carry over to our end.  The USC looks good for the price and I am just hoping the head is strong enough for the speedload 6.  Also once a dart jams, is it just trash?  Cause I noticed that after one jam, the guns wont fire them any more and they just slide out of the barrel.

Sorry again folks.  It's just that being told to buy a better one reminds me of all the times I get told to buy the best and newest PC parts.  I simply can't do that.  I was raised to use something until it is worn out, and only then do you replace it.  So I guess the attachment to the gun is that I spent money to get it, not throw it away.  I have to make use of it.  No throwing money in the trash.
