Two months to go before the war. Hopefully everyone is excited. If this is your first war, worry not, there will be plenty of people to help you out and there will be lots of rule clarifications. Since there's a lot of cover and field variety at the location, superstock blasters can actually do okay (while the same is less true of Apoc).
If you're interested in getting some blasters together before the war and want to get an NIC primary together, the Buzz Bee Extreme Blastzooka is a great choice. Throw an RSCB on it and you'll be good to go; you can barrel an RSCB (explanation here) to fire stock darts as well as stefans/slugs/whatever. I have it on word from Gears that the BoomCo Burst Wave can fire out of a hopper, so that's viable too. As always, SNAPs are a great choice for wars, and the Mark 8 writeup linked above is a great choice for a first build.
this year im going to try to encourage people that are filming to post them on their own in addition to giving the footage to someone that wants to edit everyone's together.
I second this. Anyone who is planning on filming at the war, please post the footage as well as sharing it with whoever is going to edit it all together. I know Baghead has been super busy with work and other projects, but his videos from previous years have all been excellent. (We appreciate you, Bags.*)
I'll be bringing my gopro. As always, raw/lightly edited footage uploaded way late on my youtube channel.
Thanks Hoongfu. First-person footage is always fun to see.
A couple reminders:
- Bring sunscreen. It WILL be sunny, and if it's not, the clouds will just make the burns come from UV rays instead.
- Bring eye protection. I cannot emphasize this enough. You will not be able to play without eye protection. If you are not wearing eye protection and you are playing, we will be following Kane Rules: any shot you fire does not count and any hit you take doesn't count, and this rule is in effect until you put on eye protection.
- Don't hesitate to ask any questions, either here in the thread or during the war. There will plenty of people willing to help you out and answer questions.
- Bring something to drink. There are fountains on-site and I'm going to bring a bunch of water bottles again, but it's best if you take responsibility for your own hydration.
Looking forward to it, everyone. This is the last year that Armageddon is a minor so let's make it a memorable one.
*Here are some videos from previous years:
Armageddon IV (2004) (Horrible quality video)

Armageddon X (2009) (Personal favorite)
