*UPDATED* see post below, it's installed and Chrony numbersas well

Finally received it. Ordered back in last year and it's finally here! I've got a few projects ahead of this one but I may bump this to the front of the line just to see how well this kit performs.

Kit comes with
-bolt sled
-plunger rod
-trigger catch
-backplate
-plunger tube
-breech
-massive priming bar (I wont be using this as I have the Xplorer priming handle)
-metal trigger
-trigger spring
-catch spring
-7kg spring
-5kg spring
-o-rings

The implant patient. Currently has the OMW Massacre kit in it that shoots a rather disappointing 97fps (best)

Once I'm done with the swap I will probably sell the Massacre kit and of course post the results and maybe some install pics if anyone is interested.

While I like the direct plunger conversion, how much was this kit?

Probably more than most would spend, $70. You can most likely build this kit using a donor retaliator, similar to Psyk's. But hey, it's a hobby..why not.

Please let us know How it performs, I seriously would like to get one if its worth it. Also what is the top prime on your longstrike? I've not see one and It looks pretty awesome.

EDIT: Nevermind found the top priming handle on xplorers site, will need to get one.

The longstrike is probably the coolest looking blaster to me. This excites me. Please be good! Please be good!

I installed mine yesterday and it seems to shoot visibly harder than my OMW Alpha Trooper and Rampage. I'll be running the Immortal Longstrike through its paces in a few weeks at the Bowling Green HvZ Winter Invitational, but until then, I'll spend time making it functionally a better blaster for HvZ purposes.

Did yours not come with catch springs either?

Nope Mine did not come with the catch springs. I've already emailed OMW along with a few other issues

So I finished the install with the 7kg srping, well let's start off with the Pros

-direct install, no modding needed

Cons

-7kg spring priming gets tiring after 80+ rounds of constant firing

I was able to run some shots off the chrony but before the results I ran into some quality issues with the kit

As stated above mine also did not come with the catch springs. In addition dart fit on the breech was looser than what I am accustomed to from OMW. During test fit some of the darts fell out. I cant use my Xplorer darts because of the fit or any other dart where the diameter is smaller than a stock elite. Stefans, forget it, the performance was horrible (glue tip, xtip, stock tip, back rod, cut down nerf, xplorer). Last but not least the plunger tube was not molded well. For whatever reason mine had some casting or something leftover. I had to do my best in sanding it down without compromising the tube. I will check the o-ring after a few more rounds to see if it is tearing it up. Here are the pics

Plunger tube out of the package

On with the Chrony numbers (10 shots, with new elites)

w/ barrel extension
92.11
95.88
90.92
90.88
92.53
89.76
98.69
100.7
90.05
125.10 (anamoly..)

without barrel extension
99.82
102.5
107.3
105.4
105.4
102.0
103.1
109.9
109.9
103.6

So all in all, the kit is definitely better than the massacre kit. Good performance and can probably get better with some more tweaks and even a brass breech or angel breech. Priming with my xplorer grip was tiring so not sure that will work well in a war. My stage 3 OMW retaliator easily outperforms this kit. But it's a nice drop in kit and this is what the longstrike really needed and should have been from the beginning.

Should you buy it? That's a decision left for you decide. I like the kit.

Way simpler to do this than the Nightstrike mod like I did, but more expensive =)

Got a response from OMW regarding the defects on my kit. Hopefully I will receive the replacement parts soon. Maybe this will yield better performance. If I recall, when their original page was still up for this kit, they were posting number upwards of 115fps.

...so I just bought a Longshot said to be in perfect working order (with only the clip catch missing)...and the thing shoots a whopping 4 feet. Also, the front gun handle is loose and inoperable. I has some work to do. What's this kit cost?

For starters it WAS $70 but you cannot get them anymore, also this is for the longstrike not the longshot.

I got this kit from OMW back in 2014 when it came out of pre-order status. I think OMW is basically trying to play catch up on their production. They did come through with sending me the replacement plunger tube and missing catch springs. Just took awhile.

I am happy to report a gain in 10-20fps now with a proper plunger tube.
