We're still in discussion with them, but it's in the thousands of feet. Also, there's a pretty good chance we could get it precut, and in that case, we'd just throw 'em in the dryers for you guys :)

few thousand feet, still being discussed, as well as precutting is, and yes its no problem for us shipper-outers to straighten all the perfectly precut rod before sending if its neccacery :)

I should receive the sample this afternoon. The only thing is I then need to make the decision to get it ALL precut, and distribute it you guy guys in packs of like 50/100/200 dart packs, of perfectly cut straightened darts, or just sell it by the foot. I dont want to lose sales because people want to cut it themselves, its NOT going to be anysort of uber expensive, probably only a bit more than what you pay now for normal backerrod if this worksout. The SMALLEST I can get the rod cut is 2.5" so I guess thats what it would be cut into, which works for everyone but the 3" people which arent thaat many... and it will be red, so we will see.

I would pay more for pre-cut 2.5" that had never been coiled. It shouldn't need to be straightened at all.

lol starting to look like there was a miscomunication about the price of the precut-age between me and my manufacturer friend, so we may just endup selling the rod by foot like normal...

If you do manage to go through with this deal, please do not straighten them in a dryer before you sell them (That is if it has already been coiled). I would prefer to do it myself so that the FBR is not shrunk or grown too much for my barrels.

So the price would be $5 for 20'? I like the idea of colored foam so I may order enough for maybe 100 darts, but I'd rather pay $6 for 100' of FBR from aloghomestore.com even if I do have to keep making darts when I lose them. Good job giving back to the nerf community though.

If it's $5 for 20', I'd probably put in an order for about... 80' max, 'cause I'm poor.

I'd go for 300' or so, but not all at once. (100 now, 50 later, 150 next month, I dunno) Once you get the sample, could you put up a pic so we all know what our darts'll look like?

zack, i would buy 300-500' (depending on how many people in my neighborhood are interested) given that it's not more than 2x loghelp price by the foot, or cut in 2.5" (never been coiled would be nice). in any case i'll be buying some just because its red. oh, and could i get a custom color if i ordered a shitload? if every dart i owned was a light blue, people like bobert would be easier to catch..hehe.

yes ray you could, if you ordered about 100,000 feet of it :) lol otherwise no :) I was LUCKY even to work out ANY sort of deal for this, let alone another color ;) The sample was delayed so i'll get it tommorrow or sat. As soon as I get it I will test it and post on the forums with a pic and all that loveliness, it shouldnt be long now till we know how it fits. :)

looks like '7's on the tips will have to do.

could you please test it in:

1/2" sch. 40 PVC
1/2" sch. 80 PVC
1/2" brass
17/32" brass
9/16" brass
19/32" brass
PETG
CPVC

(don't buy all that brass just take the sample to the hobby store)

if you could describe the fit with words like snug, glides, twists in, falls through, as opposed to "fits" "doesn't fit" that would be wonderful. (i'm sure this is just common sense, but i'm just reminding you)

I can test most of those yes, but i dont think 1/2" sch 40 is really needed eh? itl fall through no matter what! :nugget: Im also sending kevin a peice of it, I may just have to let him do the hardcore tests :P My MAIN concerns are 9/16th brass and PETG. I also own 17/32 and think I own 19/32, I have all kinda of 1/2" pvc, but no cpvc.

I might have shown up a little late with this, and I didnt' go through all the posts but we already have that. Its red, my bro got it in the pool store he works in. Its did not work as good as foam backer rod, but it might have been that the darts were made crapyily. But its a little diffrent, the outer shell of it is tougher foam than the inside, but only comes in 5/8. I dotn know the price, I can ask my bro about it again when he gets back from virgina tech on wensday.

Those jokes happen all the time when we play poker, I didn't really think they would fit in here though.
