here's my little friend. he has a breach loaded main barrel (screws off) with an aluminum cocking handle and plunger. gets about 100 feet. that's not a guessed distance, i measured it. standard red suction darts.

the lower barrel is powered by the internals of a supermaxx 1500, and gets 30-40 feet. the tether and ring are the trigger for that one. you can have your middle finger on that one and keep your trigger finger on the main trigger.

the device on top is the air pump for the lower barrel.

like it? i've been trying to find someone willing to pay enough for me to let it go. let me know if you're interested, or just want to know more about it. if there's any interest, i can post some internal pics.

it's still not done, btw. there's finishing work to do yet. gotta make it pretty!

Know what would look even better on it? SPLATTERED ZOMBIE BLOOD! MUHAHAHAHAHA! Or some spikes or bolts on the stock for krakkin skulls... >:P

Wait, wait. No. It's missing rubberbands. those are pretty. And electrical tape.

Seriously, how much would you want for it. I'm not crazy-mad about the integration, but the way you did it is awesome: its both smooth and useful. Ever since my Vortex busted, I needed a new loser rifle, preferably a better one. I'm not sure how much I money I have to spare, but I'd like to see what you want for it first. Again, very cool.

Switch to stefans, and your range will increase like none other.

Nice, but I would've used Stefans. Also, you probably did something wrong with your SM1500. You can achieve easily twice those ranges. I suggest looking the whole integration over. I'm slightly interested in buying.... :P

yeah, I too was curious if there was something wrong with your 1500, 'cause I've never ever gotten that bad range from a functional 1500. But AWSOME CB fo-sho. I love the knew cocker thang, looks quite reliable.

Nested telescoped brass barrel with stefans all the way. Better ranges and much more accurate. That thing's pretty badass though, nice work. How exactly did you make the plunger, an internal picture would be nice.

everything is standard pvc, no conduit. it's just painted with a metallic paint. i don't like metal barrel parts, as the darts will tend to stick at innoportune times.

the 1500 is leaking air at the moment, a loose hose inside.

i'll get some internal pics up when i have a chance to tear it down.

i don't use stefan darts, mainly because the game i made this for had safety restrictions that forbid them. the setup was specifically designed to work with a standard suction tip, so i don't think stefans would get me anywhere, anyway.

Oh, I see. It really looks as if it were metal. Like it has some sort of texture to it.

it's a textured metallic paint, made to look like anodized aluminum i believe. available at wal mart. they have a couple other textures i think, but i wanted a semi industrial look.

well, there's certainly interest in this thing as far as buying it! i haven't even gotten the internal pics up yet. i'll post the price that i'll start considering at, and i'm sure there will be a mixture of disbelief and outrage from many people. however, considering what unmodded xbows have gone for in the past and very recently, i don't think it's unconscionable.

I will only consider offers over $150, otherwise I’d be happier just keeping it. I don’t want partial or full trades, I have plenty of other nerf guns and my needs are for cash at the moment.

Hm... you know, you could probably route that second keyring trigger to be in the trigger guard, I did it and it works great.

Other than that, great job. I love the plunger, it must be so damn durable. Mine came broken, which really pissed me off.

I guess he really wants to keep it then, and show it off to us here. Dude, any nerf gun over $80-100 is usually insane, unless the buyer is someone from Lanard.

Even though the gun looks nice and has a few sweet features, most of us think $150 is way too expensive for a Nerf gun, even for the rarer stuff.

Edit: I would make a reasonable offer of $70 to start, but looking at your previous posts, I doubt you will consider the offer, but if you are desparate for money, my offer may start to look better for you. I may even raise it a little for you to sweeten the deal.

By the way, Oompa: Your X-Bow looks sweet!

that's fine, and i don't see much need for name calling. if you don't want to buy it, then don't. saying that i'm a "cocky noob" isn't going to get me to lower the price in shame, ya know ;-P

i'm a "newb" to your forum, true, but i've been modding guns for a few years now. haven't done as much lately, since the game i was doing it for got cancelled.

ah well, think what you like. i've been a target on forums before.

nice gun, ompa. allow me to make a suggestion. if you got a bit of bondo or some other putty type filler, you could build up around where that pump (i think it's the pump) joins the body of the gun, make it look like one piece. if you wanted to be able to open it, you'd have to be careful, but i think that'd be a nice finishing touch.

i think i may try that second trigger at some point. mine's functional, but i like the cosmetics of your better.

Well, I don't think of you that way, some of the "n00bs" on the forum are probably better than some of us. Anyways, a game you were building it for... By any chance does it involve small teams running around trying to hit eachother, any time of day? Because we have a game just like that, called "Paranoia" at our school. So far, I don't think anyone has ever used modded nerf guns, but when I play senior year, I'll give all my opponents a reason to be Paranoid :P (Expanded airtank sm5k, my 4 barreled sm5k, and a few other guns to leave large welts and screaming victims...)

Necro: YES YES!! That's what I was thinking as soon as Katachi mentioned Bondo! Filling in some of those spaces was my problem, and all I could think of was modeling clay, which sucked. Bondo was the solution presented, and I think it would work great. By the way, if you want to do the second trigger, I would suggest finding another way instead of the teather to attach the ring to the firing pin. I used a k-nex piece and some duct tape.

$150 is low for an X-bow. He's sold probably 3 or 4 STOCK for over 100. He's had offers from people last fall for more than $150.

Oompa, your X-bow looks great! But why did you put the pump for the 2nd gun on the bottom, instead of on the top? Planning on sticking something else there?

And as far as the bondo, take the gun shell apart and bondo each half separately. Then sand and trim the thwo halves to make them fit back together. This way, you can still open the gun if you need to. Otherwise, it would be impossible to open again if you've partially filled in the seam.

Ergonomics. I don't want to have to put my hand at the top of the gun to pump it. The pump at the bottom makes more sense to me anyways, since I'm just a kid and reaching to the top of the gun feels really ackwards. And besides, I might mount something up there... Not sure what yet though. This gun is mainly for show anyways, I'm getting like 70-80 feet flat out of it with bands, and the bottom barrel gets like 70.. Something's wrong with it, but I'm too lazy to figure out what.

~ompa

hmmm... are you any good with fiberglas?

Cuz what I would do is, I'd cut some sheets of the cloth, flip the gun over, spray it with mold release, and make a fiberglas U shaped plate that goes over the pump, and maybe 1-2 inches up on the gun. Let it dry, pop it off, paint it, and SCREW it on. That way, you can still take the gun apart if you need to. But that's fiberglas work. Messy stuff. >_< But it would be much lighter than a big ol gob of bondo and probably look better.

Something else to consider, people:

Necrotech and Oopmas guns are actually TWO guns. So you might pay 70 bucks for a good crossbow and 40 bucks for a good Supermaxx 1500, that's already $110 right there, not inluding paying for all the work that went into putting the two together. $150 is a STEAL!

Hey, I dont eat babies!

Sorry, Necro. I didn't mean it as a flame. Just a joke. I find it funny that your new here and your trying to sell that for over $150. Maybe it's not that funny... whatever. Just, sorry.

And, yes, the n00b joke often doesn't apply anymore. Since 3dBBQ came.. well... don't call him a n00b. Same with Katachi, here. The guy is bloody brilliant, look at his website. ......foam katana.....

Yeah we like to judge poeple by their work, not by how many posts they have :P Some of us have known about the websites and read the stuff on them for years, but haven't posted. There's some crazy stuff being made by people here. In fact, someone just e-mailed me plans for a home made pump gun with a solenoid that has to be the cleanest design I've ever seen. I'm not a big fan of guns you have to pump. To me, more than 3 pumps is too much work, unless it's for something that fires more than one dart like a Powerclip or Wildfire.
