I prefer to keep to 4 barrels. Although the SM1500 has great range as a single-barreled weapon, it is not worth the loss of ROF, which is a main characteristic in this gun. Also, 1/2" CPVC fits this gun with beauty and grace, practically made for it. My SM1500 is CPVC modded, and I plan to insert 9/16" brass into them soon. The mod is on this very site, compliments of Cxwq.
My two cents,

What do you mean by 100' flat with only one shot? Do you mean one shot out of the 4-barrel?Do cxwq's mod. 90' flat with good ROF > 100' flat with only one shot.

NEVER single barrel ANY Nerf gun. The nominal increase in range CANNOT make up for the drop in RoF/VoF.

(Was alot of this happening somewhere? MY GOD!!)

Never single barrel any gun that has a halfway decent multi-barrel capability.
I've said it before and I'll say it in years to come...
A single-barrel [insert multi-barrel gun here] is a poor man's SM5k.

7" of 9/16ths brass nested in 1/2" PVC. Thats the general, but some people use another size brass ( I forget what size ) because it fits their FBR better.

So, you want a lose fitting dart? Also, I guess 1/2'' FBR would fit in the brass?Yep, use brass. Whatever fits your darts. Stick it in PVC the same length as the barrels, like Cx's mod. CPVC is generally too tight to work well for an SM1500, but it might not be. If the dart is anything more than snug in the barrel, it's too tight.
