There is a larger sister to the Xcross shot. Griever some great points - would you mind asking your wife why that was her reaction? What did she expect to see? What colours in her mind are more befitting? Thank you!

This si a slam-fire/pump action 6 barrel Bowcaster. Bowcaster? Yep. It has a unique bow primer system. Big sisters never looked so good!

The main thing is the pink coloring. Besides my wife and a good friend of mine, my 13 year old niece and my daugther do not like that "girly pink" my wife has even over heard girls in the toy ilses when shopping for my daughter saying to their moms or dads "why doex everything have to be pink?" The wing design and the rocker feel is fine for design. hell even I like that concept. As for alternate colors. My daughter loves purple, and my wife even suggests more of a purple as a primary color. Most girls if they dislike pink prefer purple instead. If you want to pick my wifes brain for any extra input let me know. Also my daughter goes to dance classes on saturdays, and I can always ask the girls at her school what they think and give back honest feedback from girls ages 4-16.

Griever 2112 still plays with his alpha trooper quite often despite owning one of the scariest +bows.

Seeing a return of purple blasters would actually be kind of neat. Perhaps not such a deep purple as the Original Nerf line, but not a real pale or light purple either. I can see more guys, including myself, picking up a purple blaster over a pink one as well. So yeah, I second the purple/ alternate color idea as well.

The N-strike line was primarily either Yellow or Blue; perhaps following that idea with Rebelle having this first wave being the current color and some future ones being an alternate color would be a path in the right direction.

By the way, can you confirm that that is an automatic revolving four shot turret on that pistol?

That would be great! I would really appreciate that, please do inbox me the findings - or post here for further discussion. I really appreciate you taking the time Griever 2112. Many thanks for the constructive feedback :) If you could ask your niece about the Appteractive accessory also - would she get together with friends and have a social Active Play session (get out and about, run those legs off, get a cardio workout!). One of the main feedbacks from parents was a lack of variety for girls doing things outside of sport clubs.

I feel like using female models on the current Elite products would be a whole lot better in terms of gender neutralizing. Why can't they wear black under armor like the guys?

Hiya guys, I have an opinion.

First off:

That's not to say that blasters targeted at girls are a completely bad idea, but these seem like the femininity aspect is a bit overdone.

This. It's way overdone.

Wanting to include girls in nerf is a great idea. But painting everything pink and using apps to make it full of "togetherness" and "teamwork" will just make me(and most other girls I know) want to gag. I like the design scheme but not the color pallet. what they should have done is just released these as new blasters and overhaul their whole marketing campaign to be more gender-neutral. You don't have to make everything frilly and quaint in order to make it inclusive of everyone, just put some girls on some of the boxes an in the commercials and release new blasters for everybody!

Now, about the blasters themselves:
I'm very intrigued by that small blaster with the turret and hammer-action. I've always thought it would be cool if my blasters had a hammer. The crossbow looks cool, but I'll probably just chop off the bow arms, they're pointless and they'll just get in the way. The Heartbreaker Bow *gag* seems way too gimmicky and if I do go after it, it will be with great reluctance. And as for the pink nite finder(Oops I mean mini-crossbow <_< ), meh.

Anyway, that's my two cents. A girl's perspective.

I think this aspect was aimed more towards the parents of the girls. Criteria for a toy include not only the response of the target demographic but also the people paying for the product, A.K.A. the parents.

Personally, I think this line and all of the new stuff we've seen this week has awesome aesthetic appeal and if I get any of it, I will definitely be keeping the original color schemes.

Personally, I like the smoothed out shells, since I've always liked airbrush style paint jobs anyway. And while the femininity is massively overdone for most of the people on this forum, we have to remember that Nerf's target audience is much larger than us, and even though our girlfriends and wives wretch at the thought of pink blasters, most girls (apparently, according to Hasbro's market research) don't.

Very valid points there Sir, thank you for your thoughts!

I would like to point one thing out here - Hasbro ORIGINALLY had sub par 40ft range blasters and power/performance. When they let the girls play test the Elite/mix it up, they girls DEMANDED the same power and performance. In fact - some Rebelle products actually outperform Elite. Elite need to up their game or be out-classed. The new ranges NOT unveiled most certainly have <wink> I'm hoping my NDA is eased or lifted completely today. Will keep you posted, but I encourage your feedback and thoughts. Keep up the great discussions!

Honestly it would have been better in say pink blue and purple... like different shells similar to sonic clear and white out... so its like not a stereotypical colour scheme

I like how they are re-releasing the vortex blasters with the better paint style and the orange discs. Good stuff over all.
I wonder how the hammer-action pistol works.

My theory is there are gears inside that the hammer turns as it's pulled down similar to the rough cut.

I think your mistaken, in the video the OP posted on his site the tester person pulled the hammer back, then pulled the trigger and fired a dart. there was no plunger priming or visual movement, just the hammer moving.

Feb 12/03/2013 Exclusive info: Inspired by Fan feedback and Mods - The new Vortex XLR Discs offer Trick Shots and allow fans to further customise the blaster to your style of play.
You could have the same 5 Vortex blasters but all completely behave differently due to the different Trick Shot discs (XLR Quickshot, XLR Sidewinder, XLR Ranger+++). Can't say any more than that right now.

Waiting for more NDA stuff to be cleared. Enjoy! How will this affect your game? Is this something you expected? Let me know! I need your feedback!

Different disks? That's pretty intriguing. I doubt it will get any of us to buy more vortex, but it will definitely pique some interest from a physics standpoint. I think this is a good idea for Hasbro from a marketing standpoint, though; the current vortex crowd will eat those up.

Even though there will be different discs can we still buy the regular ones?
I like the idea of different discs, especially the way the Revonix has the multi-cylinder drum,
you could have the Ranger++ in one cylinder, the Quick Shot in another and the regular in the third.

You will indeed be able to get the standard and now GITD Vortex discs in a 10 mag pack.

And honestly think you are the first to even mention mixing up drum loads :) Kudos Sir
