Columbus War!

When:
September 29th, 2012
Show up at 9:30am. Games will start around 10:00am. We’ll probably end around 3-5pm depending on people's exhaustion.

Colerain Elementary

Rules:
- Participants under the age of 13 must have their parent(s) in the parking lot or on the field for the entire duration of play.
- Eye protection is mandatory for participants under the age of 18.
- Air blasters that originally fire a projectile larger than a mega dart must have their over pressure valves unmodified.
- No shields will be allowed.
- Do not use any blasters painted all black. If you have a dark blaster, please avoid wearing camouflage clothing or too much tacti-cool gear.
- Blasters will only be banned due to safety/power issues, not because it dominates.
- Hosts will have final say on all blaster bans.


Dart Rules:
- Hot glue tips are ALLOWED. Why? Because fuck you.
- Felt pads are also allowed, obviously.
- Your weights must weigh less than a 1/4" slingshot weight.
- Washers are not to be used in conjunction with hot glue tips because of the problem with exposed metal.
- Stock ammo is obviously allowed.


Game Types:
- 3:15
- DtC
- Blob
- Multi-team 3:15


Other Information:
- Bring a bagged lunch or money to get lunch during a designated break. We usually break around noon for an hour to eat at a nearby Wendy's (Columbus tradition)
- Be sure to bring enough darts to support yourself and your guests for the whole day
- Remember to bring water

Why are you allowing domes? I am not flaming you, as I still love my domes. But almost all of your war threads don't allow domes. What made you change your mind?

Preparation for Hell Before Halloween. We made the assumption that the rules up North haven't changed, so we're playing a war with their rules to practice a bit.

EDIT: I saw that thread, Xellah - but I was waiting for the real one confirming their rules and the date.

Why are you allowing domes? What made you change your mind?

What Coop said, plus the fact that we aren't gaping vaginas here in Ohio. The added range will help at the Colerain location due to slightly less dense tree cover than at the Park of Roses.

IM IN! Aw yea, im comin home. Deployment sucked, getting blown up sucked, and walking up and down mountains sucked. But you know what doesn't suck? Slingin foam everywhere, makin people cry at impossible shots, and running around like a child with extreme amounts of chocalate and sugar in there system acting a fool with millions of darts hitting face! Hippo is a no-go, he's not in Ohio right now. Brian hasn't responded, so we'll have to assume he's been eaten by whale. Seems rational to me

Hey guys, long time no post.

I came here hoping that there'd be a war coming up so I could get some testing in before we start HvZ here at BGSU, but sadly you guys chose a day I have to march a game. Just wanted to let you know that I'm glad to see not everyone has lost their balls, and domes are allowed however. I was never satisfied with the washer dart ranges and accuracy, and the materials for them truly aren't as readily available as hot glue and a pack of BBs.

I'll make sure to watch my schedule just in case cause I'd love to come down. Hope you guys have fun!

I was hoping that allowing hot glue domes would motivate new/more people to come because their materials are easier to find. I'm glad you said that.

I'll send you a message when we're finding the date for our November Columbus War to check with available dates. I usually message a few potential attendees to check dates before I make the thread.

Sweet, I'm definitely down for some cold weather welts. I'd say I'll invite Vistagecko, but he's sold most of his stuff and joined the Marines. Definitely let me know though, I miss destroying my perfectly good plastic toys to make them better.

Been lurking the site for a while now and figured I'd pop in here. Myself and my brother are definitely in for the 29th and especially any future 'wars in the CBus area. Sad we don't see many around here. Last one was around October '10 for us. There's also a possibility of some additional guests but nothing for certain at this point. Pretty much all stock from our crew, though hoping to mod my collection of darts a little (straw mod + BB or dab of hot glue in tip).

Also, it's cool if you want to volunteer your own shit, but it's not cool if you say there will be extras and expect others to share. I, for one, do not share my blasters with people I don't trust. I've had many blasters break from superiors trying to use garbage weaponry.
