Nerfboi, I am somewhat lost to what the fuck you are talking about. If it is extremely tight, you might need 19/32" brass, which is one size above 9/16". I would get new foam, this stuff sounds a little ridiculous...

The barrel I use CPVC
Heres the picture of the brand of FBR by Frost King. Except it's a 30' bag and it's the dark grey kind.

Never use Frost King FBR. The batch consistency is terrible, and their measurements are inaccurate most of the time.

what i do is convert all the non-longshot-capable darts int longshot-capable darts by taking of whatever headpiece already attached, glue in whatever fits(erasers, plastic bolts, thumbtacks B) , 6mm paint, airsoft, or bb's.), and, if need be, shorten the dart to my heart's content.

easy, cheap, tastes like chicken. ^_^

another thing i saw somewhere is reinforcing the dart with a straw. it kinda works.

I think the Frostking FBR is very firm/stiff.

EDIT: Has anyone bought/used foam from here?

Well, I haven't heard anything bad about that foam yet, and if it is bad, for the price of it you can always sell ti cheap on ebay or to somebody in need of some FBR for FBR related purposes. If I had a credit card I would buy a roll or two, 'cause it's extremely cheap, I pay about $4CAD for 20' nowadays. Honestly, you never know unless ya try, and somebody is always the first.

I overcooked a set of Frost King once and it turned out badly for me. If straightening in a dryer, keep an eye on it. Otherwise it's held up well. When straightened if fires accurately and is readily available at hardware stores. I recommend it.

The megas I made with 5/8ths Frost King FBR have turned out very well.

Thank you Hilt. I'll try and buy FBR from the website I posted when I buy a pre- paid credit card( its your friend when you not 18 and dont have a credit card, when you want to buy something online). The FrostKing FBR I WAY stiffer/firmer than the other FBR that was really light grey(almost white). And the only place I can really find the Frostking FBR FOR SURE is Home Depot. And my local Lowes sells the really light grey stuff I was talking about.

EDIT: Whats the difference between open celled FBR and closed cell FBR? sorry for the noobish question

my strategy is to buy some high bouncing balls from vending machines. cut them and put thick squares on the end of the darts. this reduces the pain and makes a perfect dome. the other strategy is to use a blowtorch to superheat a pipe. then stick the pipe in the end of the dart, melting a hole in the back of the dart.

Or you could always use a glue gun, far cheaper than fuel for a blowtorch... And watch it, if you're using oxy-propane/acetylene, be careful, because you could end up igniting the foam.

True enough, but some people may have problems with it due to getting it centered and vibrations and all...

Actually, I use airsoft pellets to weight my darts...it works okay, but you need like 2-3 to make it weighted.

An unusual way to weight stefans that a friend of mine uses for his LS:
He pours in a little sand, then glues it in. It seems to work okay...

I bought my white FBR from there. Loose enough fit in OMC's petg, tight enough fit in cpvc. I'm straightening it right now, but when I get some darts made I'll take some pictures and give some actual test results. I'm quite pleased with the initial fit though, and as said before, it was cheap as hell.

i take the velco darts and take off the head of it without taking out the rest of the stuff. its good 4 longshots

pros: easy to do
fits in anything that takes the velcro darts and the longshot

cons: it has a shorter range than the longshots darts
sometimes shoots inacuratley (about 15 percent of the time)

I can't get weights (i know where, it's a long story), so i just take the head off and put hot glue on. It seems like with these weights the darts would drop straight to the ground after a few feet, so why does everyone use them? P.S. my "steffans" actually get about as accurate and as far as stock.

The weight adds to the darts momentum, allowing further distances, and higher terminal velocity. This allows it to fly far, although it is heavier.

Just thought I'd throw it out there that these Posted Image are good for keeping stefans up while the glue dries.

Does anyone know how nanos should be weighted? I'm assuming (sp) that they should ahve 1 bb for low power, and 2 bb's for high power. Any higher and it seems (to me) that there wouldn't be enough foam to counteract the weight of the weight... or am I getting something wrong here...

That would be a hefty dart, but nobody really makes nanos, so all I can say is give it a try.
