In this mod-guide, I will be showing you how to make the turret on your Hyperfire removable. The Hyperfire I worked on already had a few mods done to it which I will not cover here (ARs, NF spring addition), since I am sure they have already been detailed. With this mod, you can exchange a spent turret with a fully loaded one in just a few seconds. This is a very picture heavy post.

Materials:
1/8” thick, polycarbonate.
NF trigger spring. (or equivalent)
Hyperfire
Hot glue
Superglue

Tools:
Dremel (with sanding drum, cutting bit, and a plastic cutting disk)
Dremel circle cutter.
Screwdriver (Phillips)
Hot glue gun
Micro-torch (or a candle)
You

First, unscrew the gun, and remove all internals.

Next, take the turret and dremel off each tab, as pictured:

Next, superglue the clutch ring on, as pictured:

Posted Image

Now, dremel the post, as pictured: (I will be saying “as pictured” quite a bit, so bear with me)
Posted Image

Next dremel the arch, as pictured:

And on the other side:

Dremel a bevel along the edge of the turret centering chuck:

This is to allow for easy turret insertion.

Super glue it into its slot:

Next, dremel off the front piece, yes, as pictured:

On both sides:

Now, dremel off the original turret clutch brace, and cut a 1 1/2” long port directly where it used to be. Again, on both sides:

Other side:

Bevel the plate edge, as pictured:

Draw this diagram onto you polycarbonate and cut it out:
Posted Image
I had to cut one side out of the new turret brace, to make room for the plunger tube. I also cracked mine, and had to add a ¾” long piece to keep it together. This turned out to be necessary though, as it keeps the brace from popping out when installed.

Test fit the brace in the gun:

If everything is fitting together nicely, go ahead and screw the gun back together, after you put all the works back in, of course. I found that a small guide on each side of the turret brace, were needed to keep it in the right place. (You may or may not need these, depending on how neat you cut the ports on the side of the gun)

Cut the two slits pictured. These are for the NF trigger spring.

Cut a piece of polycarb that is ½” by 1.5” Heat it in the middle until it is pliable, then mold it into the shape pictured:
Posted Image

Posted Image

Cut out a # shape in the tip of the piece. This is for the spring to rest on.
Posted Image

Glue the spring rest onto the gun.

You can shape the polycarb however you want:

Here is how it works:

That's really ingenienious! I have three hyperfires just lying around; too bad I can't get any range out of them.

the only mod you can have is the range extetder mod.

You should mod them. With a NF spring and ARs removed, mine gets decent ranges. The real problem with stock hyperfires is the ARs, as they tend to push the darts out of the barrels.

This is just dead clever. I especially like the way you manipulated a strip of poly into that spring rest. Thanks for documenting and sharing this interesting mod.

Thanks, I originally tried to use plexiglas for this mod, and guess what? It broke. So I broke down and bought some polycarb. $$

This is very creative; I like how you did the whole thing. I don't know if you have a TAP around you, but they generally sell scrap polycarb perfect for this kind of thing for a buck or two.
