A-Holes, this is the official MN Ween War thread!
 
WHEN: Sat Oct 29th, 9:00 AM till 4:00PM
WHERE: Newell Park, St. Paul.  If the directions below will not suffice then, well, damn.  IF I KNOW YOU you can PM me for my celly.
 
Game schedule
·         9:00 – Grinding of the Meat!
·         9:15 - Defend the Tower (DTC 360), 2x15 min sides
·         10:00 - Territories round 1, 20 min
·         10:30 - Territories round 2, 20 min
·         11:00 - Territories round 3, 20 min
·         11:30 - Mario Kart
·         LUNCH!!!
·         1:00 - Recue the Princess, 2x15 min sides
·         1:30 - Carpe, 20 min
·         2:00 – TBD
·         2:30 – TBD
·         3:00 – TBD
·         3:30 – TBD
·         4:00 – CLEAN UP!!
 
What to bring
·         Water, and high protein/carb snacks for quick energy
·         At least two blasters you consider “primary” as one will break, the other will fail, and I only have so many loners.
·         Bring a pistol: one of the Territories rounds will be very close-quarters.
·         Eye protection: no exceptions. None.  Not one, not for anyone.
 
What not to bring
·         Totes and toes of crap: bring what you will ACTUALLY use, what you plan to trade, and maybe some things to show off.  Bins and bins just take up space and take time to clean up.  There will be no surprises to what games we play so plan according.
·         ANY air gun more powerful than a UMB (and those better have the stock oprv).  This means no 4B’s.  Yeah, I said it, No 4B’s. EVEN if they have hoppers or RSCB’s.  Unless you have crazy shotgunning attachments a la VelveetaAvenger I don’t want to see it.
·         You all know what else does not fly, PM me with questions and I will answer honestly and fairly all inquiries.

MELEE RULES!
I cannot in good conscience ban melee but I will regulate the PANTS off it!  There are TWO AND ONLY two forms of melee allowed:
1) Un-modified bone-stock pool noodle with a max length of 2’.
2) Target dollar spot melee.  THIS stuff.

 
COSTUMES!
Any costume, any type, any anything.  There will be a contest, I will be the sole judge and winners will get to pick out of the large stash I will be bringing.  Nothing here can be bought or traded for: it must be earned.  You have Venom to thank for both the inspiration and for much of the stuff here.

I'll be there, with two one other. No Big Blasts is a bummer, MN wars have such a great reputation for lack of blanket bans great excuse for ridiculous shotgun apparati. I understand the reasoning though.

Until safer darts are more widely used and/or we have a better way to regulate the power of Big Blasts (and other powerful airguns), it's just better to ban them outright than take the risk of having people get injured. Everyone knows that springers are way better anyway.

I got an overhauled Praxis and I know how to use it! Also, my JSPB is successfully converted to shot gunning, and I will have a large bandoleer of shotgun attachments to lug with me, thus eliminating the #1 problem of shotgun attachments- reloading. Watch out!

Figgin BALLS there is some solid (potential/alleged) attendance (maybe/hopefully) for this motherfather!

OP is quite updated with game schedule so you have no excuse to to be ill-equipped to throw an appropriate beatdown. I can say that whether you spend the next 30 days modding a revolutionary beastly blaster or spend it jogging and show up with a stock Alpha Trooper you will both be able to compete and have a HELL of a good time.

I saw in the homemades thread that you were having trouble with bounce-out. It looks like the fabric is stretched pretty tight. You could try making the entire thing a foot or two shorter so there's a lot more give in the fabric to adsorb the force of the darts.

Yeah, if the surface that the darts hit has plenty of slack they shouldn't bounce out nearly as easily. The pool core looks like a pain to re-sheet, maybe you can just put a puffy old quilt over the existing sheets? Just throwing ideas out there.

I have gotten PM's and posted suggestions on how to fix the 360 core and not one person was an asshat: faith in NH restored:

[Fixed] 2" trimmed off every bar.


PRO-TIP: if you don't already have one the device in the center there is a Plastic Pipe Cutter. $15 at Ace, cuts through PVC like nothing. Extremely precise, cuts are smooth, and makes no mess so you can do it right in your living room. Put it on your Christmas/Chah-noo-kah/Quanza/stuff-to-get-list.

As an extra favor to whoever made the stupid dumb 3" long darts I "fixed" the "problem".

Really looking forward to this! I'm going to be bringing (for reals this time) a huge amount of crap that I don't want. It's up to you guys to take it off my hands for for very low prices or for no price at all. Like SonReece said, most of the stuff that he's offering for the costume contest winner is from me. I've got plenty more to go around and you don't even need a good costume to have it!
