Yes, it would. I can get at least 130 feet with mine, but 70 feet is a whole lot more.

With a bit of internal modification, I just figured that a SM1500 could achieve 200 feet. just add about a foot of extra tubing connecting the pump to the valve. With foot long barrels that are 1/2 inch brass, it could achieve super soaker and homemade distances with a properly (1/2 ounce) weighted micro Stefan. This is a theory. Anyone who wants to try this feel free to. You may need to pump it about a dozen times though.

Interesting. I was just opposing the fact that a SM1500 could hit 200 feet, now I'm telling a possible way to do that. I'm a hippocrit!

It's been done. Doesn't achieve much however, probably due to the relatively small tank inlet.

You could give the 1500 relatively arbitrary power by cutting the tank in half and extending it with PVC. Of course then it's a homemade, not a 1500.

At any rate, you just don't get much accuracy with stefans beyond 100' or so. My homemade is easily two or three times more powerful than my 5k but the useful operating range is more or less identical. I've upped the dart weight considerably (3 or 4 times what I normally use) but the darts still just spin out and/or self destruct at that kind of velocity.

What's more interesting at this point is enhancing the ROF and accuracy of guns that operate within the current range limits.

I meant angled. IR's got about 130, too.

And yes, if you massively expanded the airtank of a 1500, then used darts heavier than the standard NATO round, you could get 200 feet. Of course, as Cx, said that's really not a 1500, but a homemade, and you have made Nerf a lethal sport/hobby.
