Did you single barrel it? I personally feel you get more advantage keeping 4 barrels instead of singling an sm1500; its a fairly good gun 4 barreled. Think of it this way: 4 shots off in about 20 seconds going approx 90 feet vs. 1 shot off every 15 or so seconds, going 150 feet. If you want some prime single barreled pump action, use an sm1k or if you wanna single barrel something that previously had more barrels, use an airtech.

EDIT: Grammar fixed

Your friend the period.

Both of you read the goddamn code of conduct link at the top of the page.

Bandit, "about" doesn't fly here, either you measured it or you didn't. 150' flat is impossible with a 1500.

First, good PA referance.

Next, the concept of "Spupermax" is quite amusing. I wish I had a Spupermax.

Now, we just need to work on the whole "Capital Letters" thing.

Thusly, I'm done.

If I just shot all four I do it in about half that.

He he... you don't have a dog.

Oh, and yeah, SM1.5Ks do not shoot that far. Angle or no angle, they can't do that. My SM5k can't shoot 200' angled, maybe 150'. There's no need to lie to people who obviously know alot more about Nerf than you do.

We are perfectionists for the most part, so trying to lie, and writting such crappy posts certainly doesn't help your chances of an extended stay here at the 'Haven.

I'm not going to go into the specifics of the time it takes to shoot. I'm simply giving an example. You could be shooting them all in 5 seconds, but that just strengthens my point. I got my point through.

I decided to re-read the Code of Conduct...(by the way, sorry for the double post)I think that it may be wise for you to do so as well. Oh, by the way, nobody cares what the distance of your gun shot is when it's not level. Any air gun can probably go a lot farther when it's not level. When you aim to shoot a gun, if the person is 180 feet away, will you say to yourself "maybe if I aim the gun 20 feet higher into the air I can hit him"?

I agree. It's damn near impossible to arc your shot in order to hit someone, unless they're not moving, which we hope they would'nt be. The only shot that I personally deem worth taking is one within the boundaries of your weapons straight shot. But that's just me.

Thats bullshit. I arch, at least slightly, every shot I make with my crossbow or lnl over about 20'. I use this little tool I have called skill to help me out with that. In other words, it's the blind leading the blind here. God I hope you find the cliff.

Talio.

PS. Airapache, do you have any interest in what my nuts taste like?

Talio, I may be wrong about this, but as far as range testing goes, I hope nobody gives a crap about distance when the gun isn't leveled.

P.S. Talio, I'd rather not.

I'd have to back Talio up here, hitting people with arched shots is just one of those skills that us talented people posses. Try using an EaB and you'll see how accurate arched shots can be. Of course I'm not talking about a 45 degree angle here, only slightly arched.

Also, 200 feet shouldn't be too hard to achieve with a 5k...

With a 5k, yes, but most likely not the 1500. (Unless your mod is amazing)

Talio, I'll acknowledge your expertise (along with Vassili ;) ) that you may be able to fire when angled and hit your target. My post comes from what experience I have, and I'm not as skilled as you, which is why I said that.

I'd have to agree with everyone, more or less. Wow, that's a weird feeling...

For the most part, angled range testing is pointless because it's a poor approximation of the utility of a gun.

However, I think most people do just what Talio describes though they may not realize it. Once you get a feel for the range of a particular gun you probably subconsciously angle it up 5 or 10 degrees on any but the closest shots. I consistently arc shots around 4-6' (perhaps 10 degrees) with my EaB for an accurate range of about 60-70'.

The only reason I even realized I did it was because I borrowed someones 1500. I'm used to my crossbow, which it seems that I arch quite a bit on shots. When I took the 1500, I was shooting at birds. I only heald the gun at the position I would normally hold crossbow, and I couldn't hit a thing. I just think you become accoustomed to it. Not to mention, I know a few people who are deadly accurate with arched shots. Weeman of the LCM is fucking trecherous with a maxshot at long ranges. Now I'll give it to you that if your range testing you shouldn't arch. I kinda missed that point. I was attacking another comment completely. (Who actually arches their shots in battle or some shit like that.) So yeah, if your looking for effective ranges of your gun, I guess you should do it flat. I don't test my guns at all half the time, because they are dismal. Most of my guns won't get past the 50 feet marker flat, but coming from a rich unmodded background, thats what I perfer. I'm used to HAVING to arch your gun to hit ANYTHING. So while I was using a maxshot, 1500, 5k or other guns along the same firing capability, I couldn't hit shit, and it really just fucked my game up. I'm sure that has offered no enlightenment, but I thought I would rationalize my thoughts outloud. That is all.

Talio.

Barely with my homemade on 70psi, using a full tank dump (instead of using the firing chamber alone), can I achieve 200' angled with a mega Zero dart ( i have a 3/4" barrel on it). So i would have to aree with everyone else about the whole 150' flat, 200' angled, with a SM1500, unless it's pumped 50 times, but you only said 4-5 times.

With the other topic on this thread, I don't have to angle any of my guns that I've modified. They all have the barrels tilted upward at least 10 degrees. My NF is the worst at 25 degrees. Not on purpose, but it's just what happened when I jammed the crayola barrel in it. ;) So yeah, I now have to angle my gun downward in order to hit anything within 40' of me with my NF.

Damn, you guys are talented. I took my "Spupermax 1500" out today and set up a few things that I tried to hit from a distance by arching. The average hit rate was like 0 in 50. If I had any previous comment regarding how far something could go arched, I take it back. It can go pretty dang far. Now...back to trying to hit something consistently close range without aiming. B)
-AirApache

P.S. Talio, I got your point. Apparently I'm very wrong about nobody shooting with an arched gun. ^_^

Well if you're going to POST measurements, they should at least be accuate measurements. Also, if you think the people on this forum are tight-asses, then go to another forum. You either follow the rules are leave. Intelligible and accurate posts go a long way in earning the respect of fellow forum members. Also, Evil; your 750 does 200+ flat? I'd seriously like to see the mod you've done to it, as even some of the really powerful homemades don't even reach that distance. I don't doubt your capabilities, but I have access to 3 sm750's and I'd be interested in seeing the mod you did.
