I thought it was shiny and smooth. This looks rough. And if it is aluminium, I can't see how it could be much heavier then plastic. Maybe shortened streamlines would work better.

I don't see anywhere where it says they use aluminum. It says "metal alloy" and "stainless steel" both places where I can see on the site.

True, I just saw somewhere people talking about aluminum. Metal alloy could be too heavy. I would stick to the plastic plunger.

Here's an update video on the OMW Recon Kit 2. I made a couple changes to improve the performance. First, I switched from a #67 o-ring to a #40 o-ring to get the plunger moving more freely. Second, I fixed the breech so it does not jam the darts anymore. Ranges are around 50 ft flat with stock streamlines. I still have yet to see a video of the stage 2 Recon kit shooting 70 ft. I'm from Missouri, the show-me state. So I'll believe when I see it.

Here's my review of the Nerf Raider Kit #1 from Orange Mod Works. It comes with a stronger main spring, two catch springs, a reinforcement plate for the back cover, catch, and metal spring holder. Installation and modification was as easy as the Recon kit. I removed the air restrictor, added a #67 o-ring, and installed the kit to get ranges up to 65 ft. Slam fire mode seemed to get shorter ranges. I used the stock streamlines in a windy field. See the range test in this video and the step by step modifications I did.

Here's my review of the Orange Mod Works Longstrike Kit #1. After adding the kit, removing the air restrictor, and switching to a #67 o-ring, I got ranges on average 60 - 70 ft.

Now for the review of the Nerf Alpha Trooper Stage 1 Kit. I just installed the kit, removed the air restrictor, and filled the air release on the barrel. The o-ring was already good on that one. Ranges about 50 - 60 ft.

Finally, my review for the Recon Massacre Kit. The Kit is better than stage 1 or stage 2 because the barrel has a great fit for the darts and the plunger tube seal is perfect. However, when I first got it the new streamlines jammed a lot until I did some dremel work to the front of the barrel. The stage 2 kit jammed in the same way. Now that I have fixed the loading issue I can shoot the gun fast without jams and it gets amazing ranges up to 80 ft.

The Orange Mod Works site now has individual springs available for a bunch of Nerf guns, so check it out if you want at orangemodworks.com

Also sorry for multiple posts, I tried to combine all the reviews into one but it was too much.

Next time just link to the videos all in one post. The one-embedded-video-per-post rule is there for a reason, and triple posting to circumvent it is a good way to get yourself suspended.
