It's been a long time since I've done a writeup, but the influx of noobs has inspired me to finally finish a project I've been sitting on for a while. I did some simple mods about a year ago, so it already had cpvc barrels, a spring replacement (random Ax-Man spring), and new velcro. The entire point of the Strongarm is that it's attached to your arm, so it's a super easy backup to carry around. You probably have to be under ten to fit into the stock straps, so your first goal should be to go to a sporting goods store and buy velcro hockey straps to replace them.

You could stop there if you wanted too. Mine was getting at least 30 feet, and I got a few people out with it in some springtime wars. I went further because the design of the Strongarm has a lot of deadspace I wanted to cut down, and the barrels didn't like to stay in the forward position.

First step, get everything together.

We've got the Srongarm opened up, a couple of brass barrels, and the bendy parts of a couple of straws. You'll also need a dremal (or drill/other cutting device), epoxy putty, and glue. I used hot glue because I didn't want it to be permanent in case something got screwed up, but goop would probably be best.

Second: Remove the stock barrels, and cut the white "T" arms down so that they hang just a tiny bit over the gray support. Like in this picture.


Third: You'll have to cut holes in the shell for the barrels to stick out of. This will be easiest with something thin like brass or petg. For cpvc either cut the "T" shorter and cut out some of the supports to fit everything in the top half of the shell, or leave the "T" as is and be prepared to cut into the bottom half.

This is what it should look like when you're done. I recommend starting the holes a bit small, and then widen them to fit your barrel material. Make sure to test fit and trim anything inside the shell that is in the way as well.

You'll want to cut the screw-posts on the bottom of the shell down also.

Fourth: It's time for the first round of glue!


Don't actually do this in the shell. Pull the "T" out and remove the rubber air-flow switch so that you can keep any glue from getting in there. Make sure you get it all around the straw so no air can escape!

Fifth: Time to get the barrels in there!


Although I think hot glue is fine for the seal, something stronger is needed to actually hold the barrels on the shell. Hopefully this does the trick!

Sixth: Once the barrels are secure, it's time to finish sealing them up!


Start closest to the center, and go all around the straw. If you hold it so the blaster is pointing down, gravity will get the glue further in the barrel. I couldn't get it to focus on a good "upbarrel" picture, but it's quite easy to see up there and tell if there is glue all the way around. I also put glue over the bendy parts of the straws, so they hopefully won't get holes in them.

Seven: Put the catch back in there...

And close it all up!

While you could cut the old barrel support wings down for a more streamlined look, they're also perfect for attachments!


Ranges: My living room + hallway is about 30 feet and it's still hitting chest high there. I haven't taken it outside, but I think 40-50 feet is likely. The only other thing I might do to this one is add pvc sheaths to the barrels.

I'm definitely happy with how it turned out. It's nice to have a backup/sidearm that you don't even have to holster. Next step is to get a second one for my other arm, haha.

Maybe I'm not seeing something here, but how do you fire this? Other then that its a good write-up, i like seeing guns that no one works on put to good use.

It's similar to the single shot spiderman gun. You pull back on the blue thing to cock it. Then that thing slides almost all the way forward, and when you push it forward that last little bit, it fires.

Whats that about your arm being the strongest?

In all honesty, I tried dicking around with the two barrels, but its just too damn awkward to flip the dial and re-prime for that second shot. I simply replaced the spring and singled mine with the barrel coming out of the front and it gets a respectable 50 feet with slugs.

However, I do like the idea of throwing a SSPB on the side, as its in the perfect position for a 'panic shot.' Id say single it, throw a couplered speedloader on the on, and a pair of pocket blasters on the side, and you have a fun little backup right there.

As an additional note, my mantarm (See above) is pretty much impossible to use with any two-handed blaster (AKA, xbow, BBB, quadshot, ect). It was damn nasty with my recon, however. Be aware that the strongarm is going to be pretty impossible to use unless you are using a lighter, pistol sized blaster in your other hand, such as a 2k or L+L

That manta-strongarm is pretty sweet, I like it. Once I get a second Strongarm I probably will single it. One of the problems with singling it is that the barrel would come out of the bottom half of the blaster, and really cut into wrist movement. Aside from the obvious bonus of two shots, that's why I kept it.

I'm pretty sure I was using mine with a lanard shot gun in the spring. I may have had a strap for it, but it wouldn't inconvenience me too much to just hold it either.

Haha, it's just an X-files prop. As for a replaced plunger, I don't really know. I think the tube is skinnier then a nitefinder.
