So after I learned that my 2k had a busted check valve, I had no clue what i was going to do with it. Then I saw my SSPB hooked onto my vulcan. After looking around my workstation I saw my LSFG handle. Then a crazy idea arose in my head. "Why don't I combine the awesomeness of all of these into one small and convenient blaster?!" My fellow nerfers, I present to you, the .2k! (Thanks to Shardbearer for the name)



Basically, it's a 2k with a SSPB pump mounted to a LSFG handle.

Pathetic Write-Up time!

First get your 2k tank and attach a piece of 1/4" ID vinyl tubing to the tank. Now get your SSPB and cut the pump off. I then took a piece of tubing from the hornet and attached it to the SSPB pump. Nest, slide the tubing from the pump into the vinyl tubing from the pump. Now glue on your PETG barrel (mine was 6 inches). It should look like this:



Now find a spare longshot jam door and cut a piece like so:



Now get your LSFG handle:



Glue the piece of the jam door to the side of the LSFG. (Note: If you are a lefty, glue everything on the oposite side. The gun in this thread is only for right handed people.) :



I don't have any pics of this next part (sorry), but it should be pretty self-explanatory. Take your 2k tank and turn it sideways. Glue it to the front of the handle and glue the firing pin to the trigger (it will take a LOT of fine tuning to get that to work right). Once you have accomplished that, bend the tubing and glue the pump to the piece of the longshot jam door. Finally, reinforce with epoxy putty. The resulting gun should look like this:



OK, now this part is VERY IMPORTANT!!! Do NOT pump until the OPRV valve kicks in. It does weird things to the internal o-ring and is very bad for the gun. ONLY PUMP 20-25 TIMES!!! I have found that this builds up as much pressure as a normal 2k (I think).

This mod was not very easy. In fact, it was a huge pain in the butt. I do feel that it is worth the effort though. It's a very fun blaster.

I was trying to use as little tubing as possible on this, very good idea though.

I used Loctite brand super glue and plumbers goop to seal it.

You may find that your ranges will increase if you twist out the nub sticking out of the tank. Other than that, great job! It would make for a nice integraion? or a backup shot in a pinch.

Actually, this gun was meant to be left as it is, not integrated. It's actually a war-practical gun at the moment!

What exactly happens when you pump it until the OPRV kick in? Something happens to the o-ring in the pump?

Neat little project, I just question the practicality of a single backup shot that requires 25 pumps.

The o-ring inside the tank gets positioned to where you have to push on the pin to get it to go back to normal. And by war practical I mean that it's functioning correctly and is powerful enough to be used in a (slightly) effective way.

UPDATE! After testing this a bit, I have determined that removing the trigger spring from the LSFG handle would make this a LOT easier to use. Unfortunately, I can't do that because of the epoxy putty and such.

Also, thanks for all the positive feedback! I'm more than happy with how this turned out considering the whole thing was thought of and completed in ~3 hours.

I like it, but not very useful. I would also put the pump inside the handle for even smaller. I waited this long because I just hate those post where all they say is "Props, man", but now I have something to add.

How about the .2k?

I like it. Yes, this isn't very useful. It was more of a "hmmm, I wonder..." mod. The reason I didn't put the pump in the handle is because 1) I didn't really think I could do it, and 2) because the only tubing I had was 1/4" ID, which is rather large.

I know it has been a few weeks since the last post, but what are the differences between Amazing Goop and Plumber's Goop? I have only used the Amazing type, and I have seen Plumber's in stores. Does Plumber's goop turn into a rubbery substance just like Amazing goop?

Honestly, I have no idea what the difference is. I just buy Plumber's Goop because a large tube is only $5 or something like that, and because it works fine with what I use it for. It does dry into a rubbery state like amazing goop.

Both Goops are a polypropylene/solvent adhesive. The difference between Amazing Goop and Plumber's Goop is viscosity: Amazing Goop is thinner for finer, more detailed work. Also useful to know: Marine Goop is the same as Plumber's Goop, but with A UV inhibitor. Goops are grand.

As far as I know, there the same.
