Your mom would drive you 6 hours just to play with nerf guns? My mom wouldn't drive me 30 minutes. Anyways, the drive is 3 and a half hours for me, and I don't think I can make it.

It was never originally planned for DC. The District of Columbia is notorious for being paranoid about guns. Their handgun ban is still in effect. I would never actually host a war in the District itself.

Wheaton, MD is literally minutes outside of DC. It's on the Metro.

Assuming that I found the right "Wheaton Regional Park" on Google, I should be able to make it to a war there-it's about half an hour from my house.

As for the date, any one of the aforementioned seem fine for me, but it's not certain.

Anyway, I live in the area as well and I'm interested. This would be my first real Nerf war; I've previously only played in a small house with 5 friends, so I have a few questions.

1) How do you go about retrieving your darts afterwards?
2) Where can I read up on the standard rules one might expect (points, being hit, safety, etc.)

There is a general rule list in the Nerf Wars section. Everyone walks around doing a dart rake afterwards.

The 12th works for me. I will be a definite and possibly a few guests.

Edit: My attendance will also be based on whether the 'definite' list grows some. I'm not going to drive a few hours to play a few rounds of doubles. Can't wait though, let's make this happen.

Also what happened to everyone else who showed interest earlier? I realize it's not an indoors war but it's still the only war within 50 miles of the DMV for the foreseeable future.

M3 went well last year with 9, if I recall correctly. Same park, same weekend of the year, so ideally I'd like to have at the very least 8 confirmed.

I was thinking about starting up a forum for nerfing around the DMV, maybe running it in conjunction with the nerf clubs at UMD and William & Mary. I heard Towson University also has a nerf club. I'd have to get in contact with some folks from those schools first.
