Just kidding! I got there a bit late because of also partying, but I had fun!


As far as actual war notes go, the 48 shot flywheel beast is a lot of fun if you're into rushing. I would have used it more then once if the darts weren't the exact same orange as the leaves on the ground. As suggested by atomatron, I'm going to have to look into drop-clipping it (whenever broken ones start showing up).

It was still a good war, not the most fun I've had nerfing but good..

This war marks the two years for me. That's nearly 40 wars in total, assuming each war lasted about 6 hours: 10 full days..
Now enough about me

What went well:
+Free for all and dtc
+My bow and Rainbow preforming well throughout the day
+GETTING TWO KILLS WITH A STOCK MANTA, WEEEEEE!


What could have been better:
-manta ray getting cracked after being shot by my rainbow
-Taco bell mishearing my order
-getting really tired, which makes no sense because I did fine at Chano a few weeks ago..
-Beaver is going back to Puerto Rico, bad for nerf-dom in general

You know, it was a small war but it was satisfying enough. I can say with all assuredness that 6 people can make a war work and 8 could make a war great. I don’t think “nerf is dead” in MN, we just need to get everyone on the same page.

RUNDOWN!
• Two SOLID rounds of OTC with the monster core: 56-49, close games FTW!
• Shotgun HAMP claiming the lives of men, also falling apart every f0cking time I used: time to get down with some glue.
• The Flesh performing well, PTEG might be a viable barrel material after all…
• Seeing E-Storm: grew a foot and voiced dropped like a rock since last time I was him, and he contributed to game play.
• Meeting Dom21: got some good hits on me with my own friggin quadshot.
• Multiple FirstShot kills!!!
• Orange Crème Swirl slushies at Taco Bell are astoundingly good.
• Matt (little guy in the pics): despite size and age deficiencies the only welts I have are all from him, that guy tore me up all day with a rainbow.
• Velveeta, Tron, Kip: ALWAYS good to see you!

And some words of Parting.
Beev’s, you have been an outstanding war host on many ocati0ons, a great innovator and enhancer of modifications and homemades, both a competitive and fair war participant, an never a douche on the boards or on the field. Good luck in Puerto Rico.

I had fun, regardless of the lowish attendance. Good to see some new people on the field. I'll try to make it out to SPANO next year, if nothing else.

To those of you wondering what the hell is going on with me: I can't find a job, so I'm going back home to Puerto Rico to pursue a masters degree in industrial engineering. That means I'm basically done with Nerfing. All my Nerf supplies have been divided up between SonReeseSonJensen and atomatron, and the remainder of my blasters will probably go on sale soon. Incidentally, I started Nerfing exactly two years ago, at the 2008 Halloween Nerf war. It has been just about the most enjoyable hobby I've ever got into, and I really appreciate the people I've met.

It's sad that us and Beaver have been nerfing about the same amount of time, but he's been so much more useful to the community... and that Beaver was the voice of reason after Koree left, so now someone else has to take that job.

Wow, Minnesota Nerf is kinda on its last legs huh. With Koree gone, Beaver leaving, me actually having to apply myself in school and work on college stuff so I can leave next year, its kinda starting to fall apart.

I challenge everyone who'll be here for a while to go out and find more people. Recruit from school, work, or wherever. When I go to my last war before shipping off to college, I want to see as many new faces as I can, so I know that Nerf in MN will be safe. It's just such a perfect hobby, and it gets such a bad rep.

If you guys want to do a "bring a friend war" I would be interested in hosting. I'm thinking we would start off with a "wingman" (or maybe small teams, depending on how many people each person gets) variation or two, so that those of us who have been to a war can help the newbies we bring along. Then we could get into the regular big team battles like dtc, capture the flag, and whatever.

I'm thinking it should be Thanksgiving weekend or possibly the weekend after. Even though it's not a lot of notice, I'm thinking that if it's too snowy we might have trouble convincing our friends to show up. (Not that late Nov. is going to guarantee no snow, haha)

Anyways, I'm very busy until after this weekend, but if people are into it I'll make a thread next week.

Off-season MN nerf is sickly, but summer is still healthy, especially when the outsiders come. Next summer I'll try to recruit some guys, but I also might try at our Basset Creek war, I've got at least one buddy who might be able to make it, and others if we're lucky. I'm going to try to find that ap beaver used to figure out when people are available, that way we can chose a date that works best for as many as possible.
