I don't live in the area, but I do have a GPS that locates the places to restaurants and such. So if we got there early enough I'm sure we could get a bite. What time are you planing on getting there. I was planning on 8:00-8:30 since I have a one and a half hour drive. I could go earlier though.

My friend and I actually found a Denny's down the street from the hotel we will be stayin at... Its about 5 minutes or so from The Grid... I was thinking about gettin there around 0730 or 0800 that morning.

Ok, I might make it out there for Denny's I'm not sure though. If not I'll see you at the grid.

I'm debating meeting you FNGs at Denny's. That sounds delicious. I'd be more compelled to go if people I already know wanted to... Anyone?

This isn't something I've really thought of until now. Everyone must use eye protection. Not like normal where if you're a grown adult you can make your own decisions. No. You gotta wear it. And don't forget to get those waivers signed by your folks if your under 18. I don't think we'll have too many of those though.

You have my number Split? It seems like I'm somewhat on your way, and my crew will most likely be taking two cars, so if you want to stop at my place and hitch a ride that would be swell.

So, I found out last night that there was a little hiccup with the paperwork for my leave request for tomorrow. Everything got resubmitted but it normally takes three to five days. We fast tracked it, so everything should be okay...I'll found out this evening. Good thing about the military, you get 30 paid days vacation/year...you just don't get to choose when you take them <_< .

Okay, games tomorrow. Eye protection, money and waivers. Don't forget those. And be on time. I am not fucking around about that...do not show up late.

Edit: Quick note. Very unlikely we will be taking a lunch break, so bring food to eat in between rounds. We have limited time so I want to make sure everyone gets a good chance to play.

Holy fuck. That could not have been any cooler. Seriously. So much fun. Hopefully we'll get some pictures up, but all said and done, this place was exactly what we thought it would be and it was awesome. Thanks for everyone who came out, it was a ton of fun.

Yeah. Was super cool. Not saying I don't enjoy outdoor wars, but using cover Gears of War style is really fun. I mean, I could nitpick the technicalities of being nailed point black when people rush around bunkers with raep primaries and my undying hatred for the barrel tap rule, but the venue was just way too cool to complain about. Pistol rounds were probably the best I've ever played.

Hope to see those pics taken by Alexandra.

Edit: My favorite new person (if I've never met him, he's new to me!)? Imaseoulman, hands down.

This was an amazing war. Hands down the best Haven-hosted war I've ever attended. The pistol rounds were a ton of fun, and I've always hated pistol rounds. Charging people behind barricades while they were reloading was a lot of fun. All the sliding, diving, and dodging has only left me with a few bruises on my hip and knee, but nothing too bad.

So, after that ridiculous collision with Famine the first round my wrist slowly got worse and worse. After we left Red Robin I had barely any range of motion so I stopped at a store and bought some ice, paper towels, zip-loc bags, and gatorade and made an ice pack (not with the gatorade, I drank that). After icing my wrist for about a half hour I tried to move it around a bit and then suddenly felt a pop and a snap. For a second I thought that was a really bad sign, but then it was much easier to move, so I think something was in the wrong spot and the ice-pack along with the ibuprofen helped it shrink enough to go back into place. Now I can move my hand; it's just a little sore and bruised.

Some other highlights:
-Meeting everybody that I've talked to online for years now.
-Nerfing with a solid group of guys who knew how to NERF well and who weren't 14 years old.
-Pistols!
-Finally putting a face to Split and having it not be at all what I expected...that's okay, he thought I was Asian
-Coming home without any welts
-FRECKLED LEMONADE!!! (No, I'm not gay).

Biggest surprise of the day:
On the way home my wife called me and told me she was pregnant!

Looking forward to seeing you guys at the next war!

First off congratulations on the son on the way.

This war was loads of fun, and the pictures hopefully will be amazing. Thank you so much Split for letting me use the blaster for the day. This war was the best I've ever been at by far. I can't wait for the next one.

I had a great time, and it was well worth the ten hour drive from Cincy. It was a pleasure to finally meet you guys, and be able to put faces to the names of everyone. Thanks bpso for letting us stay and making it possible for us to attend.

This was a great event in every way.
The indoor arena exceeded my expectations, everyone there was a great Nerfer who had successfully cleared Puberty, and Talio kept the whole thing moving like a well-lubed plunger head. Kudos to Talio.

My Highlights:
- Collision with SeoulMan
- John Woo-style sliding, we need doves next time
- Being impressed by the two guys using Longshots
- loser duels with JLego and Ted
- The hopper clips drawing immediate protest
- THE BALL GUN!
- My team choosing being declared unbalanced within 45 seconds of the round starting, I have truly perfected my art.

- Being impressed by the two guys using Longshots

Why thank you very much! My biggest highlight of the day had to be the final kill of a round I got with stock streamlines on someone, I believe it was VACC, with a +bow...

Highlights:

- Using the Longshots to surprising success against much better blasters.
- Pistol rounds were amazing.
- The slick floor made it easy to run and slide.
- Watching my friend go running forward armed only with a Longshot.
- I got a chance to meet a lot of the people on the forums.
- Being able to use my AT3k in one round of fighting, to decent results, before it broke.
- Venue was alright, there were plenty of bunkers to take cover behind.
- Found out I could provide more effective reconnaissance while using the Longshot than covering fire

(-) From my friend, Kris: He said his biggest highlight was in a pistol round against Talio when the nitefinder mis-fired 3 times. Then when Talio came around to barrel-tap him, it magically fired!

*More to come as I think of them...*

Yeah, the longshots deffinately added some variety, but after the first few times Kris (other longshot wielder?) got behind enemy lines and got a bunch of kills off, their utility faded a bit. They might have been more effective if we'd paired the longshots so they could do more damage before getting spotted and pinned.

Anyway, the venue was magnificent. This place was so perfect that we'll have to start planning another for the end of summer. Though, I think the numbers we had on Saturday were at the uperlimit of fun playability. We had just enough bunkers for everyone to be able to either dig in, or advance on the enemy.

Highlights:
- The latter pistol rounds. Holy shit, that's the first time a pistol round has felt like a fucking pistol round in years. The earlier ones saw too much bunkering an losing, but the later ones really took the advantage back from those with primary-esque pistols.
- Kneepad enabled bunker sliding makes everything feel like an action movie.
- Fantastic turnout with a solid group of nerfers.
- Talio's management and fast round turnaround were, indeed, excellent.

The only downside is that, as is the problem with speedball style fields, standard death match gets repetitive once you've shot from and at every bunker position for 5 or 6 rounds. What we need next time is one more game type to mix up with standard DM and Pistol rounds. Than we can run 2 or 3 round rotations with the same teams (alternating sides) and game types before rEffeminateking teams and switching games. This might be the place to actually make CTF work. Any thoughts on that?

Ctf is great if you make it so the team has to get it to the opponents side. The problem as always is what's stopping someone from grabbing the flag and just barreling off with it. When we played at the paintball field that was the whole point of making people hang the flag on the nearest bunker. That way if the flag carrier got tagged it would basically be an immediate turnover. So lets say if the flag carrier gets hit he has to give the flag to the nearest opponent. What this does is makes teams protect their carrier and actually play the damn game rather then the flag carrier just look for an opportunity to break away.
