Hi people! I just got into nerf, and have a few questions. I want to make my own gun, but does anyone here know any good starting ideas? I want to make one from the homemade section of this site I think. Also I have an idea. Since I imagine, stefans take time and foam to make, and buying darts are averagely expensive, how about taking foam, rolling it into a ball, and wrapping ducttape around it. This would be cheap and quick, but not be very arrowdinamic I imagine. My other idea what would be cool is if there were like a huge nerf army, and there were other nerf armies and they went to war and stuff. Just an idea. Any comments?

You know what, I started to reply to your post thinking that you might be a real Nerfer asking legitimate question. Then I saw that little nugget of gold above. Here's MY idea; bookmark Thumbzilla.com, this way the time you normally spend jacking off to your half asseds posts can be better spent jacking off to low-res porn.

Oh my God, my IQ just dropped 10 points just reading this.

Alright, I'll go through this one by one... First off, there is an ENTIRE section of NerfHaven dedicated to planning wars, or what you refer to as;

huge nerf army, and there were other nerf armies

So look through the site before posting something like.... that. As for your second idea, such as making nerf darts by rolling up balls of foam; just how would you plan to do that and make them fit snugly into the barrel like stephans do? And keep in mind, foam backing rod comes in sizes just right to fit inside most barrels, so why waste your time rolling foam until it fits. Stephans are just easier to make. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay at nerfhaven. ^_^

My god! All of you are so mean to newcommers  . Give this guy a break i mean he just got into nerf so he needs to get into the flow of things. Highlander, sorry about them, we aren't all jerks here so don't juge us all by just reading their replys. About your idea, it won't really work. Stefans (and their brothers such as zero darts) are the only nerf ammo that have really been found to work. Part of nerfing is having to make you stuff so you need to get used to it. Stefans need to be made with care so that they will give the best results

And all of you need to just take a chill pill. Geeze your acting like we don't want new people registering here :) .

Okay, I guess I overreacted abit. It's just with the appearance of all these n00bs (not newbies, mind you, two words are different), I've become extremely aggrivated as of late.

Anyways, welcome, search the forums for information... And please, do search before asking a question.

No, fuck you Element. I want you to read that quote again. Does it make sense to you? Does it strike you as the well thought out suggestion of a mature Nerfer? Cause it strikes me as shit. If he's just starting out he should go on over to NHQ, they cater to 7 year olds. Nerf Haven does not. Now if CX, or Vacc, or Spoon pop into this thread and say "Famine, cut the kid some slack. He might actually be a cool Nerfer whom we just need to guide and nurture." then I'll do just that. Until then I will continue on my present course.

I agree with Famine. People should say what they think as long as it's ok with the admins. As for nerf armys, nerf is a friendly game and people don't go at each other with their guns and teeth. Mostly nerfers play with who ever they can and for different teams for a veriety.

You people here sure are tough. I am looking to be an experienced Nerfer. All of you were n00b's once, cut me some slack. I relized nerf was a friendly game, it was just an idea. You guys need an attitude adjustment. I have been reading around the site alot, so I won't post "stupid" questions again. There always has to be a jackass in every croud.

First off, just for your own good, distinguish between n00bs and newbies. n00b is the derogatory name for people who are new to the forums and act like idiots. newbies are those who are new to the forums. So don't say that everyone here was once a n00b, say that they were newbies. Just hope that clears things up, because calling everyone n00bs will offend large hoards of people.

Famine, cut the kid some slack. He might actually...

Shit, I can't do it.

Ouch. Sorry for the harshness present in the forums, but you have to realize that the members here have put up with ALOT of crap, so the tolerence level here isn't the highest you'll find in online forums.

On last thing; there has to be a jackass in every crowd, I'll give you that, but don't be that jackass, it's just not worth it. We got enough jackasses around here, it's hard for CXWQ to keep booting them all out.

Now I have a true question. For the Homemade Ball Valve gun in the Homemades section, where would I get the tubeless tire valve at? It must be that you take the tube off of a tire valve. I probably made myself sound like an moron again.

I'm actually impressed, you've improved by leaps and bounds from your first post. Try a hardware store such as Home Depot. A tubless tire valve is pretty much a tire valve minus the tire. You could cut a valve out of tire instead, but a tubless tire valve is a little neater to work with.

NVM, I found one that I might be able to use. Do ones from both car and bike ones work okay, or is it just one or the other? I got a car one.

Not as bad as your first post and I got a tire valve at my local service station so try looking there.

EDIT: A car valve may not work because you need to be able to pump air into the air chamber so you're better off with a bike tire valve and bike pump.

I think it may still work because it does the same thing, just its more heavy duty which may be better. Now don't laugh at me for this, but I had an idea for a small homemade pump that you could attack to the side of the blaster. I'll try and get a pick up of my idea.

The problem with your pump is that it can only be pumped once. When you push it in, it pushes the air into the tank. Then, when you pull it back out, the air will just come along with it. You need some sort of valve to keep the air in when you pull back out the pump...

It's 12:20 and I can't explain things well.

No really, because it pushes air through the one-way valve in the gun.
