I don't know if any of you have foam balls (leftovers from all the PASes that we have), but I think if we're alright with melee rounds, using foam balls as the only ranged weapon will perhaps be more aligned with the spirit of melee rounds (at least in my opinion) than pistols.

We may also need to talk more specifically about certain rules for melee rounds. When everybody gets up close and personal in order to get a frag, there will bound to be arguments over "oh, I got you first!" or "no, you missed!" When situations like that comes up (very close calls), should both people just be out to safe the hassle? Also, It's a no brainer that the foam sword must make contact with the body to score a frag. However, could one sword "deflect" a strike of another? Are we going to do the "lightsaber duel" bit? These aren't particularly difficult questions, we just have to have consensual answers on most of them.

I think it'd be pretty nuts to do CTF with melee weapons. I think it'd actually work.


And Hal - just checked out your portfolio. Pretty sweet. Welcome to our little community. And as Ben just demonstrated, we've got plenty of foam-flinging WMDs for you to choose from.

Aquinas- I can help with the foam balls a bit I have around maybe 10. Also do you think we could use a foam arrow/rocket to throw as another projectile weapon?

If a nerf ball has a kill radius like a grenade, it WILL lead to problems. I think melee weapons are the only "physical" tools to use in a nerf war. People will say "I'm too far away from the grenade" when it is not. Swords are used mainly as an infinite "barrel tap" in sword or axe form.

Wow, really? We postpone our date so you could make it and you bail on us? That's messed up.

I've made a decision to not go to the war due to school. Though i may try to stop by for a round a two so i can finally finish some trades (i have a feeling these trades might not happen till summer).

When we have local wars at the park near me the same thing happens! At the end of the day they had collected tons of darts for us.

Sounds like you guys had fun. FYI I can't make any date in april, all my weekends have been taken up, unless enough of us have spring break around the same time. I'll probably be a no show at all the wars until summer, it'll give me a while to improve some guns and fix others.

I loved this war. It was sooo much better. Assault was great, and hearing about how nerf was years ago with Hal was fun. He did well with my big blast

Yes Hippo, Assult was crazy and I got shot by one of Jman's guns in my left temple and Aquinas and I imeadiatly backed out. We would have won if it wasn't for that.
