Now I'm starting to wonder why the box makes identical range claims to the Longshot. Either there's a stronger spring, or the AR is smaller. That plunger tube is pretty disappointing really. It might be longer, but the width is clearly the same as the recon.

However it looks like there's room enough for Longshot guts in there. It's such a nice shell, it deserves better internals than that. Recon plungers are fine in a Recon, but don't try to pass them off as a longshot.

For additional reference, i'll contribute some of my internals photos of the Longstrike, along with plunger and spring comparisons with the Recon CS-6.

Yeah... for modding purposes, the Longstrike is basically the same as a Recon.

Three guesses for what the deploy's internals will look like...

I had a feeling this was going to be another recon, but not with identical internals. That's just low. Now there's almost no reason to buy this gun. Just get a recon.

I just opened up mine.
Sorry to tell you guys. It is a reverse plunger.
Lots of room to work with if you wanted to gut everything and fill the shell with awesome.

I'm also wondering how you guys got one. I'm about to pay $60 + shipping to have one shipped over seas to me. Do you have it in Canada already?

I have my ways.

After eyeballing it for a while, I must admit it's safe to say that I will eventually do something to it.
Something of biblical proportions.

Even if I have to rip out all of its guts and replace everything.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,

I was wondering if you had an extra Longshot catch laying around that you could check for fitment in place of the longstrike catch.

Don

sorry for stealing your pics BTW needed to settle an argument quickly.

There is still reason to buy it... the reason being to put some at2k or at3k internals in it.

$30+ for a shell to repurpose for fitting an airgun into seems like an awfully large waste of money.

Im looking forward to getting a Longstrike (after te Raider of course)...I dont see why you guys have to be so down about it. Some people just are never happy...I mean you get to a point where you can only do so much in the way of innovation before it become cost prohibitive.

The problem is that the vast majority of the members here play with heavily modded blasters. For those of us who play stock, it doesn't matter what the internals are like so long as it reaches the advertised 35 feet. However, as I understand it the longshot internals make for better/easier modifications than the recon internals do, and that is the problem here: the longstrike is basically a very big, pretty recon. They don't necessarily want innovation, the proven longshot internals in this sweet new shell would be just fine.

Well that I can understand...just I am not a big fan of complaining...Im sure somebody with the time and money could harvest the internals fro a longshot, switch them with the recon internals in the Longstrike and go from there...Im sure that Nerf had its reasons for doing what they did

It wouldn't be for the mere shell, Place the "muzzle" end of the air tank to the back of the barrel, secure it with e-putty or glue/goop of choice, make sure it can go back when you move the bolt, connect the trigger to it somehow, and badda-bing. Oh, and the pump would be on the lower front if you are a skilled enough engineer of nerfiness. The bolt would not pump it, it would still allow use of the clip. Well, I'll just try this when I get one.

We wouldn't expect anything less of you.

This gun would sell well in Aus, we've got a lot of people that frequent our little forum who buy guns based on looks. They paint them black, put on a real fire-arm scope & are very shocked and offended when they are being criticized for it.

The exact same plunger size as the Recon? Man, what a disappointment.

I mean, I wasn't expecting greatness or anything, but this is worse than I thought.

Forever off my want list. I bet it'll cost more than a Recon, too.

Who needs a Shotgun Grip when this thing would look so very very sweet with a Lever Action?

When I went to walmart today. I noticed they had the new shelving diagrams taped to the shelves and on the spot where the bottom shelf would be it said nerf longstrk so it looks like they could be hitting sooner than later.

I wonder if you could take the shell and stick in the internals from an air gun? It seems iffy, given the limited width available, but you could perhaps make a respectable "luzer" rifle out of this.

It looks like you could mount an additional spring behind the reverse plunger, but then again it depends how much space is there while primed. That'd be the frist place I'd look to mod it after removing AR's.

There should be room for say a 2k tank, judging by the internal pics, and the usual width of their guns.
