Mav Help

I am trying to make my Mav a little less suckish and basically, make it a semi viable undergun system for when I am being rushed. As of now it shoots about 10 ft. flat. No good.
MODS DONE:
- basic AR removal in turret
- 4 penny mod
- full barrel removal
- CS's better rotation mech. glue hex lock together w/hex head I beleive
- extra catch spring
PICS:
Internals
spring/plunger/trigger detail
nothing done to either plunger component
basic turret AR removal
I have a few ideas/questions:
- small peice of foam where air is released from blaster (better seal)
- add AR spring into turret
- CPVC barrels
- pen mod in plunger with "great stuff" to reduce deadspace
- spring replacement
- drill out backs of turret
Do any of these Ideas seem like they would help at all? I have my doubts about the CPVC barrels as it doesn't seem like the Mav generates enough air to get a dart out of them. I am not trying to unfairly get LS ranges out of a Mav, I just want a viable undergun system. Don't tell me to make a nitemav either! I do not have the parts!
Thanks very much,
Whisper...

The back barrels of the turret do not meet with the front barrels so you are most likely losing air between that gap. To test, plug the front with your finger and blow into the back. If air is escaping, that's your problem.
To fix the gap, you can use the AR caps and drill out the peg, or use craft foam to cut to the shape of the turret with holes that will allow air through each barrel, or add a new barrel that will be air tight from back to front.
When I used CPVC, the turret became too heavy so I switched to PETG but you will need to remove some of the front barrels to get it to fit.
Hope that helps.

You might want to work on the seal in the plunger. And I'm not sure if the gun will cock with 4 pennies. There might not be enough room for the spring to compress.
The seal IN the plunger? Not quite sure what you mean by that... Actually, the gun does cock just fine.

What barrels? I didn't remove the barrels.

" Okay, I have a few things to say:
1. My shit is glorious.
2. Sitting around at a computer all day eating chips is fucking awesome.
3. I liked how you called me big meany head. I'll use that one next time Vacc calls me a faggot. " Talio

You're right. I did the russian roulette mod. Except I can take the TURRET all the way out of the blaster. My bad on the wording.

Where the outer plunger seals with the inner plunger.

When you say AR removal, you don't mean you literally threw away the AR's, do you? Because the bases kinda seal the barrels to the turret base...
No no. I drilled/removed the pegs, just like everybody else does.
UPDATE: I put a little foam on the area wherethe male end of the plunger releases air. That seemed to help a little. The Mav now shoots 11 feet. Yay!

Sure it boosts your range for a while, but it's real bad for the plunger.

Also, one thing that I did on some of my mavericks was to add a longshot frontgun (lsfg) spring in addition to the regular mav one. This requires shaving down the + shaped peice of plastic on the back of the plunger alittle since the lsfg spring won't fit otherwise. Doing this gives a big boost in power to the gun. (I've never done a penny mod so I don't know how the power increase compares between the two mods)
Just a word of warning though, I did this to two mavs. One broke. But the other is doing awesome!
Another thing to consider is giving up on the maverick plunger and going the nite-mav route.

I would definately add some craft foam between the plunger openning and the turret to improve the seal.

T dog- as stated in the original post, I do not have parts for a nite mav. The lsfg spring is a good one though. Where exactly did the mav that broke break? Ranges and other mods done to the one doing awesome?

Bear in mind, when I say awesome, I mean awesome for a maverick.
Edit: If you are going to rebarrel, make sure you're darts fit well! I rebarreled a nite-mav with petg and it shot worse because of bad dart fit! Ruined the thing.

Add a firefly spring. Your gun will be pretty beastly for a mav. Also, replace the barrels with PETG.
By ADD a FF spring, do you mean have a mav sprin AND a FF spring in the gun or JUST the FF spring?

The rod on the cocking handle ended up bending and the plastic piece that it comes in contact with on the plundger broke. I don't have ranges on the one that works at the moment, I'll try and get some in the next couple days.

Again, what are your rangees? I just tried this and got ranges of about 20-25 ft. Not bad, but not awesome, even by Mav standards...

I mean just the firefly spring alone.

Hi Yah- What are your ranges with a FF spring? I get about 25 ft with the mav and the LSFG spring in there...
