You know the drill.

Date: December 5th
Time: 10-4
Location: Newell Park

Rules: Probably not going to ban any blasters, BUT All darts weighted with anything heavier than one standard copper BB and a standard washer/felt Slug weight are banned! I would appreciate that everyone just not be a douche about this. Like, don't try and secretly weight your darts heavier. This rule is for everyone's benefit.

Gametypes: CTF, Deathmatch, Wingman, Gunslinger, Pistols, Zombies?, and probably more.

Food: Fast food joints nearby are where most of us eat, or you can bring your own.

Attenders:
Venom
Nerf Bros
Taters
Beaver
SonReeceSonJensen
Eh Whatt
Velveeta

We're out for the 21st but the 5th is wide open nothing on the calendar thus far... Why the stefan BB rule? I'm assuming its to keep the ranges of over powerful guns down, because cold makes hits hurt more.

You weren't at September MNNO, but we had a lot of issues with overpowered blasters and whatnot in general. It's easier to just restrict all of the darts than have to hear half the people whine because we banned their $100+ diddle blaster. That, and it will balance the game a lot more, and make the power difference less huge between blasters. It's complicated, but we have good reasons.

The 21st wont work for me but the 5th is perfect. Count me in if it is on the 5th. Are slingshot weight darts acceptable?

What weight standards do you suggest for megas? I usually put 3 bb's in, just because it fits pretty well.

Highland. That's my vote. That's where I live! I'll see what I can do, foam-wise. The dart restriction comes in handy, 'cuz I have like 1000 bbs at my house. Annd... both dates probably work for me.

Velveeta: I would still just use 1bb with megas

taters: slingshot weights are not acceptable - I use them for high-powered blasters. Basically, only bb's will be acceptable, unless you can demonstrate to me that the weights you are using are equivalent.

Sounds like a plan. I will hopefully have the car for that day, which ever we decide.

MX: CS darts are out, sorry. They are significantly heavier than bb's

taters: You'll want to use the clear liquid nails which comes in a plastic tube. Avoid the stuff that comes in a bigger metal tube - it's harder to work with, and is very hard when it dries.

That is a good point, Bob. I think anyone who will be at this war is mature enough to accept what I truly mean, but I changed it anyway.

Are we going to allow streamlines as well? While they get awesome ranges, you can't actually hit anything with them, nor do they hurt much, so I think they would be fair.

All darts weighted with anything heavier than a standard copper BB are banned!

Just a friendly warning:

The word "a" leaves your meaning entirely too ambiguous. If you don't explicitly use words like "single" or "one" then douchebags will rule-lawyer with you until you're blue-in-the-face. Or they'll just show up with darts weighted with two, three, or ten of them and lie to your face that they "honestly believed" it would be allowed.

"nothing in here is 'heavier than a standard copper BB' " waaahhh waaaaah waaah.

Just cut 'em off at the knees now: Change it to say "one"

The people who would be attending aren't typically the type you would refer to as "Douchebags". Keep in mind, the only people who will be on the attendance list are people who have went to atleast 1 Minnesota war.

There was some talk of a mod party last war... any thoughts?

...Was that too soon?

Well, I hope not. But I meant the advice just as a general thing, since it seems likely right now that quite a few groups will at least experiment with dart weight limitations.

I've seen hobby stuff that started out just for fun get turned competitive, and people playing bullshit rule-lawyering games with the precise language used in competition rules, for ... a very long time. I believe it's best just to head off all that crap by stating things so explicitly that no one can even make a half-assed case for any alternative interpretation. Yes, it makes the rules feel like they've been "dumbed down" to idiot level, but that's just a lesson in human nature. Where loopholes can be found, eventually someone will try to turn one into an advantage.

Competitive post whoring? SLAM!!

Anyway, War thread. Bob, exit unless you plan on being at the war.

Ok, Beaver, please, lets try to work out that spring thing. I want to be able to use my SNAP before this war.

Lurkers should remain lurkers in things they are irrelevent in.

Also, Hamline is having an indoor war this coming weekend, saturday 7th from 8-11 pm. Let me know if you'd like to come.

I'd like in on the hamline war.

venom: post this on MWNC as well.

Does anyone have my arrows from my arrowstorm? I gave them away a couple months back, but I sort of want them now.

Ask Kelvin. I might have some too, but he has more than me for sure.

I won't be going to the Hamline thing, sorry Koree.

Dec 5th works, Nov 14th/21st works... I don't care, I'll be ready to Nerf whenever this thing is happening.

Mod/dart party? Yes

The Difference:
-Guns shoot bullets that kill people
-Blasters shoot darts that tag people

I do not play with guns.

Well unless someone wants to provide me darts, (or sell them at a reasonable price) I'm most likely not attending.

Or I could try to implement my auto-sword idea for maximum badassery

Lamesauce, Max. Perhaps we should all make some extra darts, combine them, and give them to Max.
