Where/When:Gnomefest will be hosted here, at North Brunswick Township Park, on Saturday the 22nd of August, from 12 noon until dusk.

Gun Bans: Don't be an idiot. Go ahead and bring what you *want* to use, but bring a backup that you know is okay.

Eye Protection: Required for anyone 18 or under, recommended for anyone older. Even if you don't plan on wearing it, bring it anyway for one of our special rounds.

pharmacy stuff: Part of the field is open, and there are some bugs, and while I could not find poison ivy anywhere where we'll be nerfing, there is some in the park elsewhere. I recommend some sunscreen, bug spray, and if you're totally paranoid about poison ivy, bring some poison ivy preventative cream.

Nerf Gear: Bring a primary, a springer pistol, and something fast with a little range (arrowstorm, longshot with functional magazine, rf20, etc.) Something with around pistol range is best, keep it fun and avoid bringing some crazy multi-barrel gun that shoots 100+ feet (RFS for example). Also, the open area is pretty forgiving, but the woods area eats darts like candy. Bring darts like you're nerfing in the woods.

Food: Bring a bag lunch. I'll post about places to get subs etc. later. Or eat lunch on the way/before the war. We're starting at noon, I'd rather take as little (or no) break as possible. Later in the evening we'll either order take out to be delivered, or we'll BBQ. More on that later.

The Venue: There is an open field with an incline across the middle, with a few very small trees at the top. We will possibly provide some tarps for cover, if desired, but the little bit of cover that's already there worked fine the last time we used the field. Farther down the path there is a wooded area partitioned into sections by several trails and a stream with a bridge. The woods have lots of trees, some ground cover, and several fallen trees which are big enough to use as cover. Photos coming soon.

Exhibition/Specialty Rounds:There will be multiple exhibition rounds and special game types we would like to try. What we end up doing depends upon whether our electronic support equipment is complete, and what everyone wants to try.
Here are our options:
Domination (totally different from ddt. Think Unreal Tournament)
Deathmatch (the real kind, as opposed to 3-15, which is actually elimination)
Revised Zombie Round (based on the game type from March Meltdown)
Basemmetry (quck, simple, low tech. Knock over the other team's base before they knock over yours.)
Gunslinger's Heaven (Look it up, dickwipe)
!Primary round (Everything but the primaries. Magazine, Auto, and Pistols round)
Everything Goes (Doomsayer? Chimera? Sure. Anything that could be considered 'safe'. Eye protection mandatory for everyone)
Totally flexible on what we run, but if it's ready, I'd like to try my new electronic toys.

This war is typically one where we chill someplace small and relax after Apoc. Leave your grudges, rivalries, and attitudes in the parking lot.

I figure by and large titans should be okay as long as they aren't optimized really well for range. Shotgunned, or ROF enhanced titans are probably okay. But again, guns may not necessarily be approved. Just try to use your head.

2500 should be okay. Not sure about the 5k though, I'd have to see it. (You're going to make me turn this into Mythbusters with ballistics gel and a pig cadaver aren't you?). In general, the anything goes round includes guns with hpa tanks. But once again, guns will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis in terms of safety. Also, depending on how many people we have, if you're not interested in doing the anything goes round I'd be more than happy to organize a pistol round elsewhere in the park. Also, the anything goes round will definitely be a one time thing if there's anyone there who objects to it, and if a lot of people object, then we'll just do something else.

So that means I can use a plugged titan that fires the stock rocket?

I don't see that being a problem.

If you are counting maybes, that is what I'd have to be right now. The war is a ways off and I know the end of August is going to be pretty crazy for me. I will be trying to make it though. I need to start duct taping 5ks to my ultimator now.

Saturday night will likely be an absolute madhouse in down town new brunswick. Although, classes will still be 2 weeks away, so maybe you'll luck out. Either way, there's plenty of alchohol to go around there.

If you detest oxygen check out the Scarlet Pub or Old Queens. Smelling like nerf war may cause some problems there, though.

Olive Branch always has cheep brews, and after 10 Harvest moon's microbrews drop down to a reasonable new jersey price....at least they used to.
