Continuing Chicago Nerf!
When: August 22, 2009 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Where: Centennial Park
9400 S Oak Park Ave
Oak Lawn, IL 60453
Posted Image
(It's the same pic from last time, we'll meet by the park where we last Nerfed)

It's an awesomely large park with open fields and wooded areas for Nerfy goodness. It's in the heart of Oak Lawn, IL. We'll plan on meeting by the playground. I'll gladly give my number to anyone who wants it to ensure an easy meetup.

Who's Attending:
Snake51886 + 5
Ryan McNumbers
LiterSize (possibly with his new gf?)
Finn
Merzlin
Kane + x (The Napervillians)
bunstock

Maybes:
Basser
HockeyFights118

Possible Special Appearances:
Zorn

Unable to Attend due to sand in the Mangina:
Scott

Relevant Information: The last Showdown went out without a hitch, let's keep it up

Here's what to bring:
- A few guns; at least one primary and at least one *spring* pistol.
- Ammo, and a fair amount of it. If you forget you'll have to beg or worse...
- Eye Protection, you don't bring any, you can't play
- LUNCH AND DRINKS
The only shields that will be permitted are Manta Rays and Crossfire Shields

Here's what you shouldn't bring:
- Absolutely no singled Titans. Plugged Titans must be shotgunned to at least three barrels - a minimum of three barrels attached to the airtank, with all barrels firing upon the trigger pull.
- No singled AND plugged 4Bs, LBBs, National Geographic Guns, or Signal Launchers. Plugged will imply shotgunned to at least three barrels.
- Special cases on the above banned guns will be considered on a case-by-case basis; if you feel you have something that is listed as banned but doesn't perform powerfully enough to warrant banning you may bring it, but please don't waste our time with a singled, plugged Titan where you shotgun-load a single barrel. I would ban SM5Ks but almost no one has one or uses one.
- Air-powered homemades (spring-powered ones are acceptable) will be considered on a case by case basis as well but the limitations on those will be stricter, since they're generally able to put out a lot more air than most of the big blasters.
- Do NOT bring anything painted all black. That is bad and you won't be allowed to use it, except for PASs and RFDGs. Those come in that color and are therefore fine.
- No melee wapons at all!!! Barrel Taps are allowed

We'll play a bunch of different games throughout the day:
- Team Deathmatch (2 and 3 teams)
- CTF
- Free for All
- Defend the Core
- Wingman
- Escort VIP with and without Zombies
- Pistol Rounds

Rule Updates:
- Crossfire Shields and Manta Rays may be used with any combination of weapons. The crossfire shield must be worn like a buckler shield on the lower part of the arm.
- Barrel Tapping is allowed however, your gun MUST be locked and loaded to tap, accompanied by saying, "Hit". I consider tapping a courtesy instead of shooting someone point blank with a powerful primary.
- If you're being a jerk you get to star in a StQ round later that day!
- A few wars I've been to has had people testing weapons by firing them at someone...If you're caught doing it I'll personally make sure you know it was a big mistake

The emergency backup location is:
Mount Greenwood Park
3724 W 111th St
Chicago, IL‎ 60655

Questions? Comments? Post in the thread, if it's of a personal matter PM me.

I can't foresee me not making it right now, but list me as maybe until closer to war date.

AND ATTENTION: Anyone who wants a Stormfire (CTF pistol) I do have 2 extras to sell off. Lemme know if you're interested, I plan on bringing them with.

I'll be there. Why no melee weapons? We should play gun slingers and ridiculous weapons, too. Oh yeah, I PM'd ya, Liter'.

Same spot? We need a place with less wimpier trees man. Also, I'm a no as far as I can forsee, but I might make a surprise appearance.

Don't worry so much about what other people will allow. Throw your own wars and kick your friends' asses until they all want one.

Regarding the Pistol Rounds (IF we have any), would you allow to let a player dual wield 2 pistols? EX: 2 Stormfires?

Merz- Of course you can dual wield in the pistol rounds. I simply forgot to list it. The post is just a copy/paste from the first Chicago Showdown. I have edited it to update and all that jazz...You can bring the SM9K. We'll test it out and see how it fares.

The trees at the park force you to dodge and for LiterSize and me to BLOCK!!! If you want to partake in the awesomeness of blocking be sure to bring a manta or crossfire shield. This one is shaping up to be bigger and better than the first one.

Would you guys mind if my little brother came to this war? He's 11 years old, but he's not too annoying, unless you do something stupid to hime, haha.

Thanks

Not that annoying coming from Finn...I'd say ok but he's to abide by the same rules and whatnot as anyone else. I do not want to see an invincible mini-Finn.

On the flip side, I think it would be great to see him chase after Finn with a rocket firing titan all day!

Just like to give this a friendly bump, and infact there is almost 1 week away from this war. Seems like a solid attendance number, it'll be great. I might have a PAS to sell, depending if I can get the paintjob done in time. For those who are interested, here's a pic:

Can't wait to go, this seems like it will be a great war!

Scott should be coming most likely, unless he bails last minute.

Hopefully I should have version two of DTC ready, as well as a few other "new" things.

Since I can't make it to ACE in time, can someone make me an RSCB by chance? I've been working alot for prepping the war and I forgot to get some fittings via making an RSCB for my +Bow. Obviously I'll pay for whoever makes it, all I ask is that it has PETG (OMC) barrels -thick or medium walled is fine-. Thanks

I won't have the new Defend the core ready for the war. I have way to much shit to do this week with school starting next week. If someone wants to build a makeshift defend the core, that would be great.

I can still bring Team Powerball. If you aren't familiar with the rules, you can downloaded this file. Brian, I don't know if you're familiar with this game, but do you want to try it? We did it at the last MN war I was at and it was a huge success.

The Napervillians have 2 cores that work pretty well. I'll have them bring theirs...

Team Powerball sounds awesome! I've gone over the rules and think everyone should do the same if they aren't familiar with it. The park will have ample area to play Team Powerball.

If anyone has any questions on where the park is, etc, shoot me a pm and I'll gladly give out my contact info.
