People have.

Man I wish they sold some of those inflatables...

It seems like the "flag" was mostly just added in to increase the sale price.

Koree, if you are coming to the 24th/25th of July wars I would love to get a look at these, please bring one along.

*sigh* Now if only someone could get their hands on a Furyfire

People have.

OH! well thank you for posting that. Gives me a bit of what to expect. Would still like to see the innards however.

On another note:
I wholeheartedly agree with Carbon.
personally i would be utterly thrilled if nightfinders came packaged with a little pink flamingo.
*starts concidering mod possibilities*

You know, the fury fire looks kickass and everything, but REALLY? Is everyone really that excited about a maverick with the front half of a vulcan on it?

Holy shit! I just gave myself a great idea;

Time to go find that broken vulcan, Now wheres my maverick?

No but seriously, I'm getting my new hacksaw tommorow so ill make one and a writeup

Attempting to reproduce with a Tactical rail will not result in children, but you may not hate it as much!

Correction - a 10-shot Maverick with the front half of a Vulcan on it. :(

I was really hoping Nerf would see the light and make the Furyfire an air blaster, but it seems that isn't the case. C'est la vis. Once we see the internals (mostly to know if the rotation mech is attached to the trigger or the cocking handle), we'll know whether there is a chance of putting an AT2K in there somehow, making the blaster we were all hoping for a possibility. (There's also the small matter of whether the pump will fit through the area where the cocking handle goes...)

It's not like anyone discussed this before, oh wait no one bothered to look at the thread. Oh look, there are PICS OF THE FURYFIRE THERE.

As I said there, the furyfire locks the rotating mech and primes the spring plunger with each pump, reminiscent of a supermaxx 3000, only a springer. Ice9 says it's more like an airtech 3000. Stop the comparisons to the maverick, it's definitely got better range and pop than one of those, not to mention THE TRIGGER DOESN'T ADVANCE THE CHAMBER.

And, sorry koree for hijacking the thread. I'll move on.

I can't get a good look at the vest that comes with this anywhere. The front's awesome, but is there a back panel to the vest like the first dart tag vests or is it just a front panel with a strap around the waist and the neck? Thanks.

So there you have it.

Ah geez. I read that article, among watching the several videos and reading the other threads, and looked right over that comment. Apologies and thanks.

The Furyfires I just bought are definitely trigger-advanced. They must have switched something between the ones at the dart-tag league and the ones actually being sold.

Do you mean that you pull the trigger and whether primed or not it advances the chambers?

Yes, and priming the blaster does nothing to advance the chambers.

I'll try and rip it open this afternoon to put some internal pictures up in a new thread, but I've been having brake problems on my car and am busy tonight, so it's a bit low on the priority list.

I have only one thing to say.... these look like NiteFinders 2.0. And that's an excellent thing.

Some speculation:
You might be able to remove the glued-on barrel using pipe cutters, like removing the restrictors from a Longshot.
If you put a hole through the rear cocking portion right behind the white plunger tab, you might be able to band the plunger.

This really does look like the spiritual successor to the NiteFinder. It's got the barrel with a hole under it, the small N-Strike rail, and two dart holders. I wouldn't be surprised to see this sold separately from the set.

It's good to see Nerf evolving the designs a bit. They're making them more mature, better suited for office warfare etc. I wonder if the new styling cues will carry outside the Dart Tag series.

Double correction - a Pump Action 10-shot Maverick with the front half of a Vulcan on it. :P
Seriously, with some plunger tube mods and barrel extensions, this thing would replace the doomsayer. There, I said it.

In tight quarters I imagine it's already pretty amazing. I look forward to playing indoors with this as a primary and my recon as my sidearm.

The NF and Stormfire plunger rods are interchangable.

Okay? Does anything besides the tab keep the slide from coming out off of the back?

The gun catches fine, and will not de-catch if I throw it atthe ground full force. The tab in the back got in the way a bit, so I ended up cutting it off.

I wouldn't think it would. If anything, minutely decrease it, seeing as you're adding the extra mass of the plunger handle that the stormfire does not originally have.

It's looking like the plunger draws are the same (Contrary to what I had previously thought). I'd test it, but my 9/16 brass is taking FOREVER to arrive.

Edit@DBNF: The weight is more than made up for by the application of bands or bungees.

Just use a more powerful spring. I'd sacrifice bungees for a more powerful spring in a heartbeat. However, you may need to re-enforce the point where the original plunger rod contacts the rear slide piece, as the stress of the spring will be against that point of plastic.
