FIXED, READ MY LAST POST! HAPPY WITH IT AT THE MOMENT!-thanks for the help 'haven!

-Hey all!

Its Ballard here, and I just have a small question. I recently acquired the new gen. BBBB. I opened her up, did a basic pump plug, and CPVC barreling replacement. The only problem is, when I pull the trigger, I either get rubbish ranges or insanely powerful shots, most being weak. I have opened her up countless times, re-checked everything, tried numerous different trigger-pulling styles, etc. People claim to get consistent 100+ ranges with the BBBB, while mine will only get that 1 out of every 10 shots. Tips and information would be wonderful!

-Thanks!

What darts are you using? Are they tight or loose? How tight/loose? Are the darts different sizes? Is it shooting the same amount of air every shot that you are shooting?

Edit: I edited while you typed. I pressed submit post before I was done by accident.

CPVC Barreling (stated in post), out of stefans out the moment, so using converted Nerf stefans, the darts are fairly tight, not too tight though, and the same amount of air is coming out everytime, pretty sure it has something to do with a stalled trigger pull.

Past experiances with modding have cuased me now check that all seals are airtight and there are no leaks.
Now I can't explain why your BBB is working fine one shot and is bullshit the next, but I would open her up again and take a peek inside.

We don't have military tactics or specialized training. We're fucking kids playing with plastic guns trying to tag each other.

Update: Just checked, no leaks (did it in sink to check for leaks), P.S- Had similar problems with an AT2K awhile back, but I had not plugged the pump, which I did with the BBBB

If i remember correctly, Stock nerf foam is tight in CPVC. You want a loose fit. Also, check your tank-to-barrel seal, and if air is escaping out of a bad check valve in the pump.

Update: (I'm fast this thing is open) removed CPVC, replaced with CRAYOLA marker barrel, still same results. By the way, there are NO leaks. Barrel is on securely, like I said, I'm almost sure it deals with the trigger pull. And a question, what is the maximum amount of pumps you can do on A PLUGGED BBBB?

In regards your trigger problem, next time just fire the guns a couple times stock, and if they suck, return em and switch.

There is no set number of times you can pump a certain gun, as variations in o ring size, lubricant, strencth of glue joints, and other tiny factors influence how much air can be put in. For example, some BBBBs I've modded can take over 20, while others get hard to pump at 8. I usually put teflon tape under the o ring to help it seal and pump more efficiently though to save time.

You'll do a lot better if you spread the lips with the front. Trying to wriggle the back in there first seems a bit counterintuitive.

I think I may have solved the problem. I was doing some shooting, and I figured out if I use my middle finger and pull the trigger (gun is pumped at 8 times every shot), most of the shots will fire well, I just have to get a good trigger pull. Unless you have a solution to solve this, I'm okay getting mostly good shots.

-Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't take it up past 10 pumps, and even then, no one is going to allow it at a war. Why would you plug the pump? Its plenty powerful without being plugged.

My 4B is beginning to exhibit this same behavior. It will shoot normally about 4/5 times, but sometimes shoots with anemic power. My pump is not plugged, for what it's worth, and I use loose-fitting darts.

I can usually pump mine >20 pumps, but that's only to shoot rockets or demonstrate how much cardboard I can shoot through.

What might be the cause of your problem-- did you get any glue in the piston valve when putting the barrel on? Also, I would relubrictate the valve.

I did this coupler mod on a BBBB once and taped the trigger/valve in the open position so I wouldn't end up gluing it shut. Later I had trouble with it sealing because it had been left open for the drying process of 1 or 2 days. I think I may have stretched or compressed the internal spring too much. As a result, the valve was almost always open a little, allowing some air to escape as I pumped. I think pumping it faster may have had better results. I hope that helps, but if you've figured it out already that's great.

I think that logic is sort of backwards.

I agree and in hindsight I realize the mistake I made, especially since it created a problem with the trigger. However illogical my approach may have been, the purpose of mentioning it was to suggest that Ballard may be encountering a similar problem to that which resulted from my approach. I'm not at all suggesting Ballard replicate what I did.

I do appreciate the idea of keeping the chamber partially charged and your logic for doing so. I will try that next time I do a similar mod.

Use PETG as barrel material for CDTS's. CPVC and crayola are way too tight.

Thanks for all the support guys! As I predicted, the gun itself was fine, but the trigger was in a funky position in the BBBB. I opened her up, replaced the trigger, now if I get a good trigger pull, the dart soars. P.S- for all you that have said pump it 10 times or less, I pump it 8 times so no worries.

-Thanks!
