For this to work, it needs to be organized, because I can already see this getting out of hand...

My suggestion for your method of collection:
1. Make a waiting list of who wants to speak about what.
2. Organize them into a playbill that covers a month.
3. Tell them when their submission needs to be done ( a month prior)
note: if they cannot fit the date then they are replaced or moved back
4. Have them send you the submission and then you play it at the alloted time frame

I think only three main topics would be necessary

Maybe a playbill like this would last a month:

Homemades:
- Guest 1
- Guest 2
- Guest 3

Modifications:
- Guest 1
- Guest 2
- Guest 3

Wars:
- Guest 1
- Guest 2
- Guest 3

Then at the beginning of every month, post the playbill and those who are interested will know when to tune-in.

Just a suggestion, and I would definitely contribute to all three of those topics.

Well it depends if everyone liked his type of music yes but there should be multiple music directors, audio directors, etc. This would be real cool if we had a live webcast and archived the video and audio sorta like radio where you are actually talking to each other and to every one.

Thanks to everyone that has volunteered so far! To start out with, I'm trying to form a small group of members that can consistently deliver content, but hopefully anyone that has expressed an interest will get a chance to contribute down the line.

That being said, I think we've got a nice little team assembled for the pilot episode. I'm hoping we can record the first episode in the next week and get some feedback on it.

Speaking of, I'm also looking for some legal music to use in interludes, etc. It either has to be public domain or published under a creative commons license. If anyone has any ideas, shoot me a PM

PM'd, sir.

Time to put my recording studio to lesser (but more comedic) use.

That is all.

If you're still interested in someone that active in NIC organized wars, I'd be interested once you get this up and running.

Have you decided how this is going to work?
I'm not trying to be mean, but, a lot of people have said that they would volunteer, are you PMing select people or is everyone going to have a chance to submit content.

I have Skype if you want content on Homemades and NIC Wars.

As I said a few posts up, eventually, the plan is to find a way to involve anyone in the community who wants to submit content. But if I just take content from everybody who wants to help with no rhyme or reason, we're going to end up with a bloated, 6 hour show with no logical progression.

So to start us out, I have three other nerfers (Ice Nine, Crankymonkey, and Mr. Badwrench) and we're going to try and record the first show next Monday evening. Once we have the first show up, everyone can get a better idea of the format we are looking to use and we can begin to plan out how to use the outpouring of talent that has been volunteered.

Alright, so for submitted content, since your first show is going to be multiple people, will we be able to submit monologues?

Episode One of the "Foamtalk" podcast is recorded and on the web for your listening pleasure. I apologize for the low quality audio-- We found out that Skype isn't the greatest tool for podcasts. My voice is also fairly low-- so You might have to adjust your speakers accordingly. A big thanks to Mr.Badwrench, Ice9, and Crankymonky for coming together to get this recorded and to Bobafan for the name suggestion . Hopefully you enjoy it.

Once we find a host with some spare bandwidth, we'll get the RSS feed submitted to itunes, but for now, it's being hosted by Megaupload:

Episode one

Just to warn everybody, this podcast is rated M for mature. There is a fair amount of cursing, but nothing too bad besides that. It's probably not safe for work and you probably shouldn't listen to it with your mom.

We'd love any feedback you have for episode two. We're aware of the technical aspects (buggy sound, etc) so try and focus on the content and what other kinds of stuff you'd like to hear. Thanks!

I think we had a solid pilot episode that highlighted the needs for technical changes, which will be instated for the next episode. Now hearing people's feedback is the best way to improve for next time.

We've considered doing "Live" show where there will be a method for "calling in." However, likely there would probably be editing at the end.

There are some funny parts (I'm still listening to it), but try not to get on tangents about, for example, your roommate and hot sauce. Also, I'd like some way of really knowing who's who.

EDIT: And pokemon.

EDIT 2: It's pronounced LaNARD. You know, the French way.

That was a great first episode. It is long but it passes the time.
I'll PM you Jedi.

I also did what someone suggested about putting the Youtube comments in the audio preview...holy shit.

That was great! I put the thing on my Ipod and listened to it during double math. It really helped it go by, now I don't have to go through another double math period for 2 weeks . There were some really funny moments. I particularily liked the Youtube comments. Crumpit?

EDIT: Thanks Cranky. I get those confused all the time.

EDIT#2: I think a good idea for the next one is to minimize gun fiddling/firing during the podcast. It made it a little hard to hear/concentrate on what was being said sometimes. Sounded like someone was dry-firing a crossbow at one point: I cringed.
