I don't know about you guys, but I love podcasts. I have 4-5 that I listen to on my way to class, on long car trips to wars, etc. I love the format, the DIY attitude, and the fact that anybody with a mic can make one.

So I've been putting plans together for an NIC podcast. This isn't going to be a Nerfhaven podcast or anything like that, but more about nerfing and nerf modification in general.(obviously, this is an activity that is all about getting out there and participating, so I'm not thinking a 4 hour podcast about the essence of modification or anything like that) I'm not trying to be too ambitious with it-- I'd like to get an episode out there and see what people think of it. If people enjoy it or think it has potential, we'll go from there. That is the cool thing too. If people DO enjoy it, we can hopefully get more of the community involved in it. There is definitely potential for some cool stuff (guest war recaps, etc)

I'd like to note that I've never recorded a podcast before, but I've got a friend who runs a couple different sports related ones. He's already given me some tips and some software suggestions. What I do need is some other people that would be willing to be "on the team" so to speak. This would probably involve a couple hours in the coming weeks of planning content, and then around an hour or two of actual recording. I'd like to get people who are

1) Over 16 (just to start out with)
2) Able to commit to a couple hours a week.
3) Active in modification and NIC war attendance

Optimally, we'd have a panel of three to four people each podcast, and there is definitely some fluidity there based on people's availability and such. I'm planning on using Skype to record/conference call, so you'd also need a computer capable of running that along with a broadband connection.

So if you'd be interested in trying this out with me, send me a PM or post here. If you're not interested, but you still have some ideas for what might be interested nerf related content in a podcast, go ahead and post! I've got some ideas, but I'm sure you guys can think of a bunch of other fun things to talk about. I'm also on fairly active in the nerf chat if you want to pitch some ideas to me there.

I think this is a great idea, but I am only 14.... dangit. And I hardly have attended a war yet. I'd definitely think it a good idea, but if it goes all crossbow talk.......

I think this would be cool, and I want to wish you success with it. I can't personally contribute any time soon, but if you get it together and it works, I would do what I can to help support and publicize it.

And I think that might be what Tailo meant - in his skeptical way.

You banging my mom would be gay sex? Well now, there's a personal factoid which I don't think you've ever shared before.

This would likely either win Effeminateally and become an integral part of the NIC, or fail after two episodes. Try to remember that the number of listeners probably be very large, considering the size of the NIC. I'd like to be a part of this project.

The idea was kicked around like 2 years ago by The Infinite Shindig. There may even be a podcast or two actually recorded from back then. Let me know if/when you get up and running and I would consider getting involved.

I would be interested in contributing. I am 16. My dad works in radio, he could help with my recording and sound editing and stuff. I won't be available to contribute until the summer, but I am intersted to see how this unfolds.
