[your worst nightmare]

Ok I have a recon. I was wondering if it is possiable to single a recon. I just want to know if any body has tried or thought of this before. Im just wondering if it would improve its range because the recon is not that good of a gun.

I, too "have recon," as they say. I get him in old country. Then I realize he sucks like bog. So I trade him for potato.

Seriously, though--there's no reason to single a gun whose single positive attribute is its RoF. Moving on...

Actually yes, i have done it just like ice did with a longshot, but i used a recon. Great results but the end cap broke off the prime indicator bar very easily, ruining the recon.

That's funny, I was just going to post something asking if anybody really uses the recon for wars. I can't really see it being any good for anything but playing around the house. Mine is always jamming and is basically a PoS. It was fun at first, but so is just about everything in life....

This Mod, which is listed under the Modifications Directory stickied at the top of this forum, is a singled Recon. Damn that Forsaken_angel for hiding it under the Recon listing. Never would of looked there.

I can only think of 3 recon users of the top of my head, Deamonn, Judenerf, and I. My recon's my back up primary; if I don't feel like using my LS, or if it's in maintenance. Juden's being fixed up now.

The Recon is made to be a pistol-ish weapon with a high RoF. Buy a NF if you want it singled.

I get most of my kills in wars with my recon. Get close, fire BBB. Reload if there is time, otherwise drop the bow, draw the recon and run like hell. With two back up clips in my pockets, I can fire off an impressive number of darts in a very short time. Does it have an awesome range? Hell no. It fires quickly and relatively accurately, as well as fitting my play style fine.

Just because a gun can't hit 90 feet doesn't make it crap, but doing away with its strengths does.

Hell, at the last MN war I won a pistol round using a Maverick.

Don't single your Recon. If has a fairly small plunger tube, and isn't worth it. Just use a BBB or something similar.

I honestly have been trying to figure out how to brass single a recon to make it look like an SMG from Halo 2. I myself own two recons. My first one is undergoing reconstruction because I threw it at my dresser after I tried modding it and it shot 3 feet . anyway, dont single it! like death by cheez said, "it makes a crappy gun crappier".

Ive got 80 out of a NF(Mavrick spring added ) with good stefens but it had accuracy worth shit I added a cpvc no it get 62 average with decent accuracy.

What "Heavy Mods" Did you use with your Switchshot? I've never gotten over 50'

What "Heavy Mods" Did you use with your Switchshot? I've never gotten over 50'

Like, 2 springs (NF and Original) and a decent sized barrel. I posted a writeup not too long ago. Check the Mod directory. Its in there.

Nerfkid3: I didn't say I could hit stuff with ease that far away. Typically you tell people how far you can shoot, not how far you can hit. My friends prove why you say this. They cant hit me 30 feet away with a singled LS.

Okay, so I singled my recon, and I can say now, that with a crayola barrel, and pen mod through the first part of the plunger tube, (Piece behind the original barrel. Two parts. Part one, before the AR's; Part two is after the AR's.) I've been getting consistently better ranges than with a stock breeched recon.

Of course later I just cut the whole PT assembly off and glue the O-Ring setup from the end of the PT to a barrel material of my choice. Which was some sort of aluminum pipe that fits my megas perfectly. I do have to ramrod the stefan down. but it gets across my entire 50ft. basement with little to no drop. And I'm talking little. Like. 2 inches at most little.

He threw the guns. And unless he added new springs, reinforcements, barrels, no AR's, the full 9,000 yards I believe nothing as far as just a maverick spring.

Could you please post a video. Your mod is not in the directory and I don't believe some springs and a new barrel could add up to 85'

If you're going to single something, single the longshot. The Recon's strength is its clip feed mechanism, allowing for high rate of fire, and faster reloading. The whole reason people hate the Recon is they keep trying to make it a primary, and a primary it is not. It's a pistol, a secondary. It out ranges the Maverick, and reloads faster, that's its strength.

To single it would destroy its only real value. You CAN do it if you want to, but the only reason to do it would be entirely out of experimentation to see if it can be done.

If you do want to use the recon build yourself a holster, get a second clip, consider making a hi-cap clip, remove the locks and safeties, put a second spring in the catch, and work on improving reliability rather than range. It's one of those guns you have to come at from a different angle. If you just think of range mods you'll be doing yourself a disservice.
