I built these on commission, and they turned out so pretty that I figured I'd show 'em off.

I added enough teflon tape to the front bushing to make it snug, but I'm still worried about it being air-tight. If I add any more it just pushed the tape up when I try to insert the bushing. Am I just paranoid?

I've been having the same problem too. I was actually going to post it here, but I forgot. I don't think your just paranoid, it annoys the shit out of me too.

Seriously?
When you are moving that much air that quickly, you are not losing a significant enough amount of air to decrease performance at all. Even if you lost 10 feet (Highly unlikely) that wouldn't affect you at all.
If it is starting to rip up when meager amounts are added then it is fine.

I'm having trouble centering the plunger head on the plug. Please help me. Please. I had to discard my last Snapbow because of It being off center.

On the inside of the cap, there's a small mark from the manufacturing process which is roughly centered (you may have to turn the cap in the light to see it.) Dot it with a Sharpie, (as it's not easy to see by itself), and then drill a guide hole there. I do this with every plunger head I make, and have never had a problem with off-center washers (although, it's not exactly a fussy design to begin with). If you're having problems with washers being off-center, perhaps your fender washers are a bit small?

I actually glue my fender washer to the plug, making sure it's centered, then drill my pilot hole in the center of the washer. Hot glue will work, but you'll need to get the washer centered quickly. Super glue will give you some more time to get it right.

I don't see it...

It might depends on manufacturer. Anyway, the mark is pretty faint.

Another option: Draw a line bisecting the cap (|) on the outside end. Turn cap 90 degrees. Draw another one. Drill where they cross. You can measure to help with line placement.

Could you have resurrected my thread for a less significant, poorly worded question? If you're talking about the end bushing, then the answer is yes. ~R
