Tools and Materials Required;

Two Vulcan Ammo Boxes.
One Longshot Breech door/cover.
A Dremel (with cutting wheel and sanding bit) or Hacksaw and Sandpaper.
Fast Set Fletching Glue or Fishin' Glue.

That's it! This one is pretty easy to make, and if someone already did this, sorry, I've not seen it.

**!!Please note that the tripod will not fit with this extra long box attached. But I'm going to try to figure that out next.!!**

The first thing you're going to want to do is cut the bottom and part of the side out of your top box.
Posted Image
On the bottom, I cut right up to the last screw post, stopping just before it, wanting to keep as much stability as possible. The same goes for the side, but this time, stop about a 1/4", 5mm from the screw post that begins the vertical wall. While this will most likely be trimmed off in the end, but, better safe than sorry. Once you've finished your cut and cleaned up all the burrs set this box back onto the Vulcan. Take you second box, pull the lid off and slide it over the first box on the Vulcan. See those two little areas on the second box touching the Vulcan and keeping the boxes from being flush?
Posted Image
Take your sanding bit and grind that shit down, till it looks like this. The back of the box requires the most sanding, but the front need only a very small amount. Just give it a slight bevel. Like so...
Posted Image
Once you have a clean tight fit, take some tape and tape the outsides of the two boxes together and remove from Vulcan. Now take the Longshot part, this one, and cut just past the last of those four little wall things (near the top in this pic). You are going to want it a just a little smaller that the opening it's going in to.
Posted Image
Now place it in the space between the two boxes from the inside so that it catches, and can't be pushed out. Like so....
Posted Image
This is why you've got to use tape before it's glued together. Keep trimming the top box until the Longshot piece fits in the dead space.
Now to cover those two gaping holes left on the front and back. Using the piece of the first box that was cut from the bottom, make two opposite little triangular pieces to fill in the dead space. I used the prat that star the upward slant.
Now turn your nearly completed 50 round box around and look a the side that attaches to the Vulcan. See that open area where the two join? Looks a bit like it'll catch the chain, huh? To fix this I took the rounded end of the second boxes lid and cut it off flush with the ends of the attachment points, basically just cut it straight across.
Posted Image
Flip it upside down to glue it in. I put it in last, after it was all glued together.
And now you're done!! All that's left is to sand off one of the N-Strike logos (or both if you want) and slap some paint on that bitch!!

**Edit** Forgot to mention that you sould cut off the second boxes conection point. Where it snaps into the Vulcan. You don't need it there anymore.

Here's a few more pictures.

So you just put them together! Whats the point? Can't you just get on of those 100 dart boxes cut off the part of the real ammo vulcan box and glue it on the 100 ammo box?
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! I am Rambo Fear me with all your might! ugh nnnnnoooooo I just got shot with a nerf dart! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! eh..eh..help me...

Echnalaid - Thanks! I was looking around for something to cover up that spot, and low and behold the jam door was a perfect fit.

xbox180 - Nope, no duck tape. I like my mods looking fresh and new.

General Nerf - Yeah, I just put two together. What's your point?? I suppose I could get a 100 count ammo box, but I've not yet seen one let alone have one to mod. Besides, like I told xbox180, I like my mods looking clean, don't know how flush or nice one of those would look tacked to a Vulcan, and correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these big ass ammo boxes like $40? That's the price of a second Vulcan, and I would much rather prefer to just get the whole gun knowing that it will all mesh up nicely. Too while we're on the topic of price, for a 100 round box you would need, what, an extra three belts? Three multiplied by 12.99, plus forty, plus forty would put you at what? You're lookin' at just about $120 plus sales tax with no spare Vulcan. My way will cost you closer to $80, and that's with a spare Vulcan.

If you really feel that you want to go this route don't let me stop ya, just because I can use common sense and tell you that once you shell out all that cash for your 100 round box the tiny connection point will break off under all the stresses of use and the weight of four ammo belts and 100 darts.

Hey kid, don't criticize an actual mod that looks clean and works great.

What've you done? I don't see any posts... So until you actually contribute something, don't try and tear down an actual mod.

On topic, that box looks slick and good luck with the tripod.

That thing...is pretty well done. Once you paint it up nice, it will look awesome. I personally think I would cut the second box flush and cover it with a flat piece of plastic, but to each his own. On a side note, are Vulcan chains really $12.99 for you? The last time I looked at them, and the one I bought were only $7.98.

Looks great Salindin. Now all it needs is that tripod and one of your good ol' PJ's.

Great use of the LS jam door too. Ingenuity at its best.

hereticorp - Thanks and those were pretty much my thoughts exactly as to what General Nerf said.

slowguitarman- Thanks. Yeah I wanted it be a bit straighter on the outside too, but didn't make it that way for two reasons. The first being that I had no polycarbonate and didn't want to go get any (out of laziness), and I wanted to leave as little points for the chain to snag on as possible. Don't know that it would really make any difference but I set it against two screw post to give them a softer edge, and guide the chain past them.
And about the price, I may have been mistaken, but that's what I recalled paying for mine.

Glint - Thank you too ;) . Just trying to decide whether to paint it in my usual camo or try something different.

I think you should try something a little different. You should do either really dark colors or super bright and nerfy. Just my opinion. Seeing all these vulcans recently gave me the kick in the pants to work on mine. I have the cosmetically functional part of that done, but now I need to get it shooting further than 30'.

I think you should have attached them horizontally, then the tripod could fit. ;)

slowguitarman - -I think I'm going to follow your advice, and go really dark. I'm thinking black with a few shades of dark blue for most of the main body, and silver for all the little extras. Good luck with your Vulcan, I know how tiresome trying to get ranges from these can be.

Bambampker - The tripod does in fact go on, it's just when you have it pointed forward, and let go of the handle instead of it touching the ground, a corner of it rests on one of the legs. In any other position if fits like a glove, just not at rest pointed forward.

You know what's weird? That's pretty much the same paint job I had in my head for your Vulcan. It must be destiny. I can't wait to see it. Before you paint it though, I'd like to give you a little sneak peek of my vulcan, in case you're interested in my particular mod. Look for a pm.

Have you figured out how to use the tripod with the extended ammo box?

Well, perhaps I should have included a picture of this thing on the gun with the tripod, it does indeed fit, just not perfectly. Let these images explain (sorry about the miss matched paint, the box is for a Vulcan that's currently disassembled.

The first two pics show how it sits on the tripod. The third is just one "click" of the tripod to the left, and there's a perfect fit. It's just the forward position that rubs, and I don't think there's a way around that besides cutting a small chunk out of the bottom of the box.
