Yes, another DP, but, again, it is for good reason. Anywho...

I was having some problems with my foregrip. For one, it was a little uncomfy. I made it a little too short, and that made my hand squished on the top. Also, because of my aluminum priming bar, the plastic below it cracked and then broke. Because it broke, I decided to do some major over-hauling of that area, and this is what I came up with:

Posted Image

I used the aluminum that I had originally used on the foregrip to reinforce the part of the plastic that kept flexing and eventually broke. That aluminum has a perfect fit around that part of the shell, so I cut it to length, cut out a slot for the bolts that hold on the grip, and then put some bolts on to hold the whole thing on.

The front of that piece is held on by a threaded post and screw. The back bolts can't go all the way through the shell, so there are four very short bolts (two on each side) that hold the back up.

The new grip is similar to the old one, but I had to use bigger steel that would fit over the aluminum, and I made the actual grip longer and more comfortably shaped.

Here's a pic of the whole thing. At this point, it should be done except for paint. Anyone coming to Massacre will meet this thing in battle.

Heh heh. Good joke, huh? Technically they're not pronounced the same, but I think it still works. By the way, I personally killed that ram. Not with a nerf gun, obviously.

I forgot to put it in before I took the pic (giggidy), but I will be using it still. That reminded me that I'm not done...I am going to make a new barrel spacer.

What firearm did you use to kill that ram? Or was it a bow.

Haha. That'd be sweetness. I actually don't remember what I used to kill it. I think it was a .243, but I may have used a muzzle-loader. Most of my more recent kills have been with a muzzle-loader, except for the buffalo I killed with a contender.

I hate to be a complete ass... But I really don't like that blue.

I'm not trying to start a flame war either, just some constructive critisism. If anything, maybe a gray color? Or as Forsaken said, brown. I don't know, it just looks too tacky and too much like a stock gun.

I mean, the whole gun itself is fucking gorgeous, apart from that blue. For some reason, it just seems too kiddish and takes away that bad-ass quality.

I know it's supposed to be Gears inspired, but I just don't think it fits.

But on a positive note, the wooden stock is a great idea. And also, that dragon looks pretty cool.

9/10 job ^_^

Your comment isn't flame-worthy. If you don't like it, you don't like it. Fact is though, I like it. I like it quite a lot, and I will not be changing it. I'm glad you like the gun overall though. Gray would be ok, and I would love for it to be gray and blue, but that would have been a much larger amount of work. I also considered brown, as I said, but I liked the blue the best, and I still think it looks awesome.

EDIT: Also, if you have a problem with kiddish guns, you're in the wrong sport.

P.S. None of this is meant to be angry or anything. I am just stating how I feel.

Ilzot , 2 things:

1, how is a Domsayer kiddish, even with the blue? I personally like it. You should add some red splatter to the barrels.

And 2, look at any of the COG weapons, the colors. What colors? Gray and blue. Like SGM, I don't to mean to come off as angry or a douche or anything, just stating my feelings.

One little off topic comment.
Dang, fastest time is about 55 seconds. I feel so unworthy

Anyways, doomsayer.

I like it, but you should so make the stock look more, techy.
if you used red you could have done something a little more demonic. You may have another plan for paint we haven't seen, but right now its kinda like buying a NF, painting it blue and calling it good. Horrible example, but I more of mean I would LOVE to see a kick-ass paintjob on this thing.

Funny you should mention the red splatter. I will be doing that. Seeing how amazing you can make blood splatter look compelled me to do that, and it seems very appropriate on this gun.

I have been solving the cube for over a year. Don't feel unworthy. I had a lot of free time at work haha.

What do you mean by "techy"? Also, I must state again that I did blue because I liked it. I didn't want it to be demonic and red. I wanted it gearsy. To make it gearsy, I am going to paint it flat black and then do some dry brushing with silver, and then I am going to do some blood splatter on the barrels.

To anyone else that wants to recommend cosmetics: If you have an idea that actually relates to the theme I am going for, feel free to post it. Please don't tell me to make it a different color or anything like that. I want it to be COG-esque. Blue, gray/silver, blood splatter, etc. I am not trying to sound like a jerk. I am just trying to be firm, and I don't know how else to say it.

Pearson: Why would you single a doomsayer? Thats like taking a Ferarri and putting family seating in it.

I really am a fan of your Domsayer, SGM. I like it when someone takes another's project and makes it their own. It's not necessarily improved in general, but it's definitely more custom fitted for you, both literally and figuratively. While the RFSG stock isn't as bad as the PAS one, I have to say, a little extention like this would be nice. Also, I really like the fogged barrels, and most likely do that to my Doomsayer once it is complete. And for anyone who doesn't like the blue, great, it wouldn't be my choice in color either, but he's going for a theme here, and I think it's being achieved nicely. I like the blood splatter idea. I was thinking you could make it more concentrated towards the front, and then have it disapate towards the back.

Anyway, sorry for the massive post, I just haven't commented on any of the individual portions of this, so I just kind of said it all in one.

Again, nice job, I really like it.

Yes, there will be two doomsayers. I am kinda excited to square off with forsaken with his. I hope that forsaken and I don't always get separated every round because of our guns though.

Thanks a lot. I like to think it is pretty nice too.

I'm glad you like it. You're also right, it isn't improved in general. I just wanted an awesome and unique gun, which is what I got. The stock and grip are both really nice to hold. It is really, really comfy for me. The barrels are going to be painted, but I do like the sanded look of them. As for blood splatter, I plan to do what you said with having heavy blood at the front and then less toward the back. I am also going to sorta swirl the blood around the barrels, so it would be like sticking the barrels inside of a locust and then firing it off really fast. The massive post doesn't bother me. I often make massive posts too.

All I am going to do to the stock is paint a tiny COG symbol on each side toward the bottom back part of the stock, and I am going to put some things like "SGM" next to that.

I don't know GoW, and I don't generally go for dragon themes, but this thing is gorgeous. And I love the blue. After messing around with ASON's ERTL shotgun at SENO, I can really see how the stock would be tremendously helpful, comfort-wise.

Glad someone besides me likes the blue. As for the dragon...it might not stay there. Since the ram skull, a new name popped into my head. Raamslayer. It still has a doomsayer-esque sound to it, but I think it would be more fitting since I am not a huge fan of Dom anyway. Things are looking good for this thing to be painted tomorrow :)
