Ok, I wasn't sure if I should put this in the Home Made paint job thread or what, but whatever. Here goes.

This is my CrossSNAP, as it is, fully painted purple, E-tape on the handles and anywhere else. I wanted it to somewhat look like a Crossbow, have my own twist on it, and most definitely not cost me upwards of $150. Even with the epoxy putty, I didn't spend nearly that much. The bottom of the stock is attached with putty, the handle is smoothed out with putty, and the sight (pointing sight, explain more later) is attached with screws, super glue, and putty.

Ok, the optional extras.

Barrel holder. As you can see, near the front of the stock is a coupler. I took a hint from Ice who used the stock barrel in his Crossbow to do just that, and since I really do want to use this and not have to go looking for the barrels, then this works.

Strap attachment points. These are steel loops normally used for belts, however, they are used here as strap points.

Now, the pointing sight is something a little different. Most people talk about aiming, however, and any major war, you know you aren't gonna aim, or if you do, you won't do it for very long. Most of the time, your darts don't even hit where you are aiming right? So why bother? Nerf is not hyper accurate rifles with great range. They fire foam. So, you simply put the ring around someone, and fire. It gives you a more accurate representation of what you are likely to hit, and shows you that you probably cannot make those 120ft shoots, even if your gun can shoot that far.

Without further adieu

Honestly? This gun is fucking beautiful. Absolutely amazing. One of the best looking war-ready guns I have seen in a long time...I was getting tired of Duct taped at2k's from 13 year olds. Bring that shit EAST COAST.

I would love a writeup for something this nice.

Dang, that is really sexy. Especially the red dot-like sight.

Nice work BustaNinja.

Actually, sometime soon a bunch of us MNers were thinking about doing a train trip to the East, and this would make it there, however Im not sure how it would sit with Crossbow Purists.

Thanks about the sight. Its kinda like a red dot, but with the area you are liable to hit, you just put your target in there and pray

It's cool, I guess, but the handle will probably break off first thing at the Minnesnowta War. Seriously though, excellent job. But you didn't paint the trigger and barrel yellow and the priming handle teal so it's not quite spot on in Crossbow cosmetics.

Hahahahahaha... oh wait you are serious? Remember, I have never had a handle break on me. Thats just you. Both times you built a SNAP, the handle has broken. Plus, I mean, I have hot glue, 2 zip ties, super glue, plumbers goop, and a ton of epoxy putty keeping it all together. If it does break, I owe you a dollar.

And you see, purple and black are alot more badass then teal, yellow and purple... Sorry, but its true Zach.

Extremely well done! I have to say the purple is the best shade of said color I've ever seen, quite close to the BBB purple. What brand is it?

Once again, great job!

Hey, it's not like I don't have all that shit.

I just choose to not make a concoction of different adhesives to hold my gun together. At SPANO I had just epoxy, which was a very bad idea. At MNHNO I had a screw and a little epoxy, and it did last longer than the one at SPANO so I am improving in that sense.

That's pretty good and clean, but I wouldn't say that it's any sort of Xbow replica. It's more of an approximation than replica, but still, nice job.

That was the goal.

Thanks, I did use Piney's Purple SNAP as an idea, and I am already thinking about cutting it up to put a pump in it somewhere and a spidey trigger so I can have a, integratable spidey or salvo. This should look like a war machine soon enough.

And Zach, you obviously dont epoxy right if it's breaking. It shouldn't at all.

Hot Damn, that is one fine-looking foam-shooter. That is the sexiest SNAP hybrid I have seen on these boards. That trigger gaurd is very interesting, what did you use? As far as homemades go, that is one of the cleanest (most put enough glue/goop/epoxy on drown a whale) I've seen. Now to intergrate (is that a word?) a super-awesome secondary!

Spiderman Dart tag gun.

And the trigger/hand guard is made out of some thick wire.

At Boom. Yeah, I've tossed it a number of times our of anger when something didn't quite fit. Its take some fair abuse, and lived. It should be around a while. The +bow may be easier to mass produce, but I wouldn't want to throw it, and if i did, I wouldn't expect it to work.

Fantabulous. That sight is getting ripped off for my future primary. As for SNAP handle issues: attach it like I do, with screws and a cpvc endcap. Then build up around the base with epoxy putty, if you're that picky.

Not a bad idea, but Zip ties seem to work for me. In the next build (A Version of this I can actually take apart to fix stuff, which will have a write up) will have something like that, but with more screws and less glue. In fact, I only plan to glue two parts in total.

That's what I did except I only used one screw and it was probably too short and I used epoxy not epoxy putty, but not a lot of it either.

Probably gonna keep stealing yours. I plan to use one (if I get one) for an integration, so I wouldn't be able to use it on my wrist. And you know me spidermanning with it made for some awesome footage at MNCSO

Hilt, what spring are you using? I didn't use one in this beast. Its 3 ACE #49 springs. However, they are about the same as one +Bow spring. I would guess you are using that?

Well good. I don't trust glue in our weather.

This is very nice. I have to confess I've already bought a spring for my own version. All the same I can't wait to see yours and see it in action in just two weeks.

I hope the purple paintjob is a foreshadowing of the purple welts we'll get! Did you fix the problem with the stock flexing when you primed it?

the stock on this never flexed. This is a completely new gun. The one that flexed kinda... well... exploded. I tried cocking it, and it SNAPed (lol puns) and then I looked at the seal and the rubber washer was completely cut in two. Thats what I get for not taking the time to smooth out stuff. Yeah, it was a bad design. Im sticking to stocks that attach at two points, or attach in more ways then a tiny dovetail sticking into an end cap.
