Hey guy's, I have a interesting story about a employee freaking out about nerf. So I went to pay for my longshot at the cashiers desk, and I am only 13 so I don't know why he asked this but, " Aren't you a little old to play with gay nerf guns?"

I was a badass at the moment so I replied, " The only thing gay here is you."
Then, " SHUT THE HELL UP YOU LITTLE PRICK!"

The manager comes over and says, "Is something wrong?"

" Yes, your employee is treating me like shit."

The manager talks to him, fires him, and gives me a free $50 dollar gift card to TRU.

That's the end. So, has this happened to any of you?

Dude, you realize you just got a person fired, don't you? Don't you think that you shouldn't be the one complaining? And besides, the employee has a point. We are too old to play with toy guns. If you really care about what you look like then you wouldn't be doing nerfing. Funny story though.

Don't worry about the age thing, wait until you realize that you are buying toys, and the cashier is rather hot.

That's not the point. The point is, it's not illegal for us to play with stuff for kids, is it!? No it is not. He wouldn't sell it to me 'cause I was 13. 13! So obviously he got fired, and I am glad he did.

I got a 20$ giftcard to Home depot because one of their employees told me he had better things to do than help me find 1 1/4 PVC... He probably did but another employee overheard him, and told the manager. I don't think the guy got fired, but the manager was pissed.

Ha. Going to have to keep this story in mind the next time some employee decides to treat me like shit.

Target is a lot different, though. The way they handle their disputes:

• conflict
• manager approaches
• conflict somewhat resolved
• No GC's given
• Leave. End of story.

This was a customer dispute, so If an employee was involved a bit more with the conflict, I am pretty sure that there would be some compensation for my trouble...

I get a lot of comments on the NERF toys I buy, but nobody's ever called them gay before.

That's probably because of my charming charisma. I just flash them a smile (assuming it's a female checker) and they ask some silly question. I then tell them that I like to have fun and am really a kid at heart. If it's a guy and he even tries to give me a hard time, I just look him in the eye (at which point he realizes I could crush him like a bug) and say that I modify them to put holes in dry wall.

That's how I roll.

Yes this has happened to me when I was purchasing a recon.The employee gave me a squinty douchebag lool like (><) and said you look a little old to be buying a toy.I gave him a look that said fuck off with a smile.EDIT I am qite small and unlike imaseoulman I cant crush them.But I sure as hell can give swift kick in the nuts and be on my way.

When ever I need to buy a gun, I bring my 6 year old brother along (Im 16) and I use him as a scapegoat. It works especially (Spelling) with the ladies they all think Im the caring older brother. and thus I avoid all conflct with any employees. But serioiusly there is employee customer etiqutte that most employees have to know.

I guess being 30 they just assume I'm buying toys for my kids or something, but I've never had anyone give my purchases a second look.

Of course, I don't understand why someone would automatically assume that something being purchased by a teenager is necessarily for them, especially during the holiday season. Do they not understand the concept of gift-giving?

Regardless, a store employee should never intentionally insult a paying customer like that, especially with no provocation. Telling someone they are "too old" to play with a "gay" toy is fairly offensive in my book, and I would not wish to be spoken to in such a manner by a person employed by a company with wich I am spending my discretionary income.

I don't think the manager did anything wrong, especially since it is likely that someone who would make a comment like that has likely done (or would likely do) other similar things.

I'd hate to tell you, but it's quite possible that the guy was in a bad mood just like you said you were. And just because you're both acting like you're having your periods doesn't give you guys to act like 5 year old girls to each other. So, he got fired from a job he quite possibly needed and you walked away with more money... where's the justice in that? Plus, if your 13, you shouldn't be acting that way to someone older than you no matter how crappy they act to you.

He wasn't in a bad mood just that day. He always has done shit to me. Once before this, he was all like," Ohhhh nerf guns, I am so scared, Grow up." When he said that I walked away.
