So you object to the use of bbs and fishing weights?

No, its just that screws are way heavier. Any large metal object would hurt, especially if it breaks through the foam.

Why don't we stop bitching, and let him make his darts? So what if it's unconventional, at least he's trying something... useless I might add, but an idea none-the-less. I think that he should let someone shoot him 3 times with one, in the leg, or arm, and he can tell us how good it felt after. If he's gonna shoot someone with it, he damn well better know what it feels like, and not with 2 pumps from 7 feet away, 6 pumps, 12 feet away, no moving. Tell us how that turns out.

About the screws, the wood screws are sharp, and have sharper threads. The 'machine screw', not 'metal screw' (all screws are some sort of metal, wouldn't you say?), has a flat bottom, and tighter threads. No matter what they look like, a piece of metal hurts, no matter what it's in. The foam will not protect you, as the screw is behind glue. Trust me, I use nail weighted Stefans, and they are good for 3 shots on something hard, before the tip rips off. It matters not if the thing is sharp, its that it can rip through the foam, and the glue will come off with the foam.

The bottom line, weight with what ever you want, but don't hurt anyone. BBs are used because they are small, and they won't hurt half as much as a nail of screw. Plus, BBs aren't very 'sharp' as it were, and won't rip the foam quite so easily.

Not in the game anymore, but it was great while it lasted. Thanks for the great years of fun, NH!

he's got a point there.

I weight my stefans with one thumbtack in each 1.5 inch dart, but I sure as hell make sure they're glued in properly, and I've never had any injuries at my wars caused by my darts....just be careful kiddies, and remember to put safety first  ...

*** GASP ***
LECH RETURNS

i know you believe nerfhq is the new black, and i wont hold any opinion because of that, but ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

the thing is with thumb tacks, the two types im thinking of are:
edit: ignore dots, its the only way i can 'illustrate' these as spaces are removed

1]......-==-
............| flat top one with small actual pin

2].......[]
..........[]
...........| the high plastic content ones wih bright colours....

both options can have the pin easily removed and all ARE PLACED POINT BACKWARDS, and that, my friend, is logic......

My first post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Party...Party...Party

I used to make darts the way buck describes because of there accuracy. I dont anymore because people thought that they were unconventional <like you>

They really didnt hurt much. Not anymore thatn a regular dart with 2 bbs in it.

When you registered another account from the same IP address I thought `hey, he's gotten off on the wrong foot here, maybe he just needs a fresh start.' You lost my support when your first post with the new account was to try to validate your own argument. I realized then that there is no hope for you because you are posessed by the spirit of Majin.

You're missing out on an important lesson in life by taking advantage of the online ability to run away from your mistakes. People will respect you a hell of a lot more if you just admit you're wrong, back off, and learn.

There are a lot of really cool, well-liked people in the online Nerf community who had to wear asbestos underwear for awhile because their initial stupidity earned them plenty of flames. They learned the rules of the community and proved themselves the hard way.

Until I went to a major war and demonstrated my guns, a whole shitload of people called my range measurements lies. When I introduced the idea of brass barrels, nobody was willing to try it out. Sometimes being a newb sucks. Get over it and earn some respect.

What I like about Stefans is they are nice and lightweight. If you put screws in darts, sure the will go farther, but you are carring around alot more weight. I have done this screw thing before, its cool how far they go but I don't see it as a positive dart to be using. But good for you experimenting with dart ideas that not to many people use. Nello and I have been busting our brains trying to think of a new dart idea.
