I went out to walmart and found a double pack of 3K's.

Hmmm. I'm no expert on air guns (I hate them) but there are a few things.
When you pull the trigger, does air come out?
Is the screeching like a whistle or plastic rubbing on something or what?
If you kept the recipt, you should return it. It is a lot easier than diagnosing and repairing a problem.

On the contrary, I would not return them...unless there was another set there. One can always use the broken 3k for parts, eh?
Anyway, another question that should be answered: does the goo guage drop before you pull the trigger, or only after?
One of my WalMart 3ks would not hold pressure, and had some of the symptoms you described; it turned out to be a leak around the pin of the valve, which is a rather difficult problem to fix.

Well, I honestly can say you'll never know unless you open it up. Take some pictures and put them up. And be careful, because AT3K's are a bit tricky to get back together if you don't know what you're doing.

Nothings going to fly out (from what i can tell), its not a springer so you shouldn't worry about that. You want to fix it don't you?I would try to open it, but the pieces always fly out and I don't have a camera because the lense cracked

If you are really nervous about breaking it, then said it to a more experienced modder to have a go at it.
