I am sorta writing this after the fact, so I assuming you know the basics of modding and can deduce from the pictures what I DON'T say or what I don't specify in the writeup.
Firstly, this mod was insprired by Jerm with his Internal AT3k Inline Clip which of course was fathered by this writeup. I thought to myself "If he could do one with a AT3k, then I can do one with a AT2k!".
So I did.
So here's what I did, I took my brand spanking new AT2k from Big Lots and first did the airflow enhancement procedure that Imasoulman wrote about to get SuperMAXX 1500-like power, and then I plugged the pump. After that I decided that I'll start this mod because I didn't want to CPVC a AT2k turret which would require ramroding. (TEDIOUS during combat) So to make room for how close I wanted the clip & barrel to be to the airtank, I did ALOT of cutting on the AT2k shell.
I took out the fake tank in the back and cut off the back part that would keep it on. Then I cut off the 'handle' part on top of the AT2k and also cut off the goo-gauge. (I first cut off the top, drained the goo, then cut it again at the bottom of it and drained it a little more and flushed it with water then goop'd it) After all the cutting was done I put the internals back into the shell then I gooped the CPVC elbow onto the front of the airtank. To keep the CPVC elbow in place for it to set, I actually put togeather the clip system minus the barrel and laid the gun on it's back, facing up. The clip system, being so close to the shell, kept the CPVC elbow from falling backwards while keeping it streight as it dried. Frankly, I took a couple tries to keep it from falling over.
And that's pretty much it! Credit goes to Radio to bug me to take some more pictures and make a writeup. I hope this gets into the directory.
PICTURES TIME!
