I am planing on showing up. I haven't been to a war yet, but I'm pretty excited to check one out. I might also bring a friend, but I can't say for sure.

I'll be bringing my entire arsenal to this war, so if anyone wants to use one of my guns for a round or two, just ask me. As with the last war, I'm willing to sell almost any gun in my arsenal for a reasonable price. Check out the link in my sig - the only guns that are off-limits to sales are my +bow and SM1.5k.

I'm making a batch of captain slug style darts - I should have about 400 finished by Jan 17. If you ask nicely, you can have a few. They use hereticorp's black FBR, which is nice for PETG, but very tight in CPVC.

What sort of bags do you guys use for carying darts? I need one of those.

I use those mesh bags that stock darts come in. I think a mesh bag of some sort would be your best bet for dart carrying. Also, I still want to buy those hornet tanks, PM me about prices.

Go to AREI, drop about 10 dollars on a medium mesh bag and caribiner. They are wonderful, but wash it before you use it for the first time.

Has anyone looked at the field lately? We're still two weeks out, but I'm curious as to what kind of ground cover is still there, and if it's more snow or ice.

Definitely ice. My alley is solid ice, and sorry, but if temperatures persist in the same manner, I wont go. I kinda got frost bite recently just by standing in the cold for about half an hour.

I'd say that low temperatures wouldn't be fun mainly if it was windy. Single digits is okay if you're running around, and if you dress intelligently.

Along those lines, I think we need to have some kind of weather sanity check the week before. It'd be understandable if it looks like weather won't be good for a war and people not wanting to Nerf, but that would need to be decided a day or two beforehand. I don't want to get there, only to find that only two other people showed up, you know?

Of course. I live pretty close, I can do some checks. If anyone else wants to check the actual field, thats cool, but I live maybe a mile away and weather is pretty uniform.

By the way, what do you guys think about me bringing some nice dry firewood and then having a lil all day fire on those grills there at the park? We tried it last time when we put vodka on random sticks, but it failed Effeminateally. Also, does anyone have foam that fits well in thick walled OMC PETG even in the cold? I would want to buy/borrow some since my Doomsayer is nearing completion. I wouldn't use it much since it will be so cold, but I would want to for at least a round or two.

Dude, frost bite is a bitch. I second the firewood idea. I wil bring some too, as I have a stock pile in my back yard. Anything sub zero would not be fun, other then that, lets do it guys. Maybe we will get lucky and have nice weather like we always seem to.

My darts, just be being in my basement are now loose in Thick walled OMC PETG. This is not good. Tells you how cold my parents keep our house.

My darts are very snug (almost too tight) in OMC PETG in 60F temps, so hopefully they will work good in the cold. I haven't tested them outside, so no guarantees. I'll make an effort to finish up a few hundred of them.

I think windyness should be the main sanity check on the weather. I don't mind running around in extreme cold, but if there are 25mpg gusts, it will suck even if it's 25F out. Not to mention that we wont be able to hit anything.

Also, if any of you could check the field for ice... ice realy sucks.

Firewood sounds awesome. If nothing else, we can just huddle around the fire and imagine how much fun we would be having if the weather cooperated.

Julian... if you just want to go out two days before... that would be great. I like about 20 minutes away so I CAN, but if you only live a mile away I'd really appreciate it if you would go instead. And I agree with Venom... man up a little. You live here.

As far as dart fits... it's going to be really unpredictable. I'd recommend guns with telescoping barrels. Most stock guns have infinitely telescoping barrels, so if you have any guns without barrel mods bring those.

Ha ha ha. Talking to me about manning up? You know I'm not gonna miss this war. I mean, I missed it last year, and that was no good. Why would I chicken out again? Sure i can check the fields there. That depends on if I feel like hauling all my ridiculous ammo out there or not. I'm not sure yet, I'll have to see what else I'm bringing first. The ammo would be fairly easy to find I guess, but I honestly don't want to haul all that stuff out only to use it in a couple rounds. That, and it's too cold to use my Ultimator so it probably won't happen, sorry. I'll be bringing firewood instead.

Speaking of fire and wood, I'll bring a decent amount of wood and I think Julian will too. Can someone bring a discrete amount of some lighter fluid or other fire starting fluid? My dad and I usually use gasoline here at home, but I don't feel comfortable taking a can of gasoline to a public park.
