Yea, the title's lame, get over it.

Appropriate though, because most of the wars we've had have not been during a snowy season.

Date: January 17th
Time: 10-5
Location: TDB, probably Highland Park
Address: TDB, according to probability: Juniper Lane, St. Paul, MN 55116
YOU MUST TYPE THE AREA CODE! THERE ARE THREE JUNIPER LANES IN MN!

Rules and reminders:
- Eye protection required, no exceptions.
- Gun restrictions will be decided on a case-by-case basis pending power (pain) and realistic appearance (police). If you aren't sure if it'll get banned, A) post it, B ) don't bring it, or C) bring a backup.
- Big blasts are allowed only if the pump isn't plugged. Same with titans, unless they have 3 or more barrels.
- We'll have a lunch break around 12 or 1; whenever people feel like it. Bring food or moolah for the close-by fast-food restaurants.
- Use common sense.
- Dress warm. Dress in layers. Bring extra layers.
- Keep in mind the relationship between temperature and the durability of your guns.

Attending (NOT UP TO DATE):
Carbon
Daniel Beaver
Atomatron
Venom
Bustninja
Myself
Tators

Possibly:
Rings

ALSO... if anybody sees Ryan around, let him know about this. His mailbox is full/messenger disabled. Thanks!

I'm there of course. I will stay through the whole thing, I just wonder about some of the fresh, and even not so fresh blood being able to withstand through it. We have had people leave both of the cold wars (MNSBW, MNHNO) because they were so cold. Imagine that but way colder. Then again, it would be fun to slide around in the snow, build forts, and make snowman practice targets. I would even bring some sleds to ride down Vulgar Hill on. Also, call this war WAMNO (Winter Ass Minnesota Nerf Outing), it was the name that sam thought of for a war we were going to have last winter, but never did.

Seeing as how I now have a car I would trust to drive across the state, I might be able to make this. I'll check on my schedule.

It'll give me a good kick in the ass to work on my guns. I've gotten in pretty much zero DremelTime® since summer.

Screw you Hilt. Making me make more darts and buy wool socks.

I'd be there. Any chance to see Carbon and Hilt is a must. Gotta love you crazy people. The newbs are crazy, but not in the fun way. Jim just leaves all the time, and other people fizzle out. Accept MercenaryXZero. He pulls his own.

Yeah, you vets will have to give your opinion on the noob army we've been raising while you've been gone. We've got Xero, Rockzo, Atomatron, the new Zudikas, those Vulcan kids (if they ever show up again), and Daniel Beaver (one of the coolest guys I've met through nerf).

It would be cool to have some ridiculous rounds since it's super easy to find ammo, even on the snow. Plus I have a shit load of ridiculous ammo since Beaver was giving it out for free. Also, an all out SNOWBALL FIGHT would be the shit.

I'll be out of the country till the 12th, so only the 17th works for me. But I am absolutely down for this, despite my earlier thoughts regarding the insanity of nerfing in extreme cold.

Hopefully I'll have some nice gear by then. I should be able to field an SS2 and an SM1.5k. (and a +bow if I decide to be irresponsible with my money). I've ordered some black foam, felt and washers for making some Slug Darts - I think those will stick out in the snow.

And of course, I'll have guns to sell, since I keep buying more of the damn things than I need...

Daniel Beaver (one of the coolest guys I've met through nerf).

I'm flattered! But I am still a noob - there is much for me to learn about the art of Nerf.

I'm in, but it would be super awesome if someone was willing to make make some stefans for me. I don't really want to waste my red foam, and the cold weather really shrinks the foam anyway. Who knows I might be willing to waive my appearance fee and trade something for the stefans.

I might be able to come, depending on what I've got planned around then. But using my SNAP with anything but bare fingers is fucking hard. In any case, I'm a maybe.

I would make darts for you Sam, but I would be making them out of my much dreaded thin foam. If your using a gun that just has a PVC coupler, I could lend you a CPVC barrel for it. They slide right through PETG, even in average temperatures, in the cold it would be way worse.

I'll be able to supply my own barrel for pretty much whatever size foam I use. Just make sure to bring enough (I'd say ~150).

To the MN00bs:
You best show up! You haven't nerfed in MN until you've been pwnd by one of the Vets.

Alright, I'll try and make at least one roll of foam worth for you, so that's about 120-140 darts. Do you have a weight preference? I usually just use 1/4" Slingshot BBs or 2 copper BBs.

Sam is right about you noobs. You have to meet the original vets to really understand what MN nerf is all about. You will prove yourself in some ways by coming out in the cold and staying the whole time.

I suppose I'd prefer 1/4" slingshot weights, but I don't really car as long as they are decent quality and weigh enough to be shot out of my SNAP or +bow.

...and to the vets: bring it on!

oh yeah, I'll bring about 200 unclaimed darts from the last war. So if you need darts just ask.

I should be there. I am a bit worried about the strength of the guns in the cold though. Also even if I get cold I always stay unless someone I bring with wants to leave I have to leave.

As long as we're on this topic, what sort of experiences have you all had with nerfing in the cold? What parts are most likely to break in the cold? Do air guns have any durability issues? (Springers definitely have issues, as was demonstrated during the last war). Do air guns otherwise behave differently in the cold (e.g., does higher air density make a difference?)? The effects I saw on the darts was striking - all my springers magically gained the ability to vacuum load because of the shrunken darts, and the hot glue tips shattered on about half of my darts. Any other interesting tidbits of info for winter warfare? I'll throw one thing that I'm sure is obvious to all of you: wear more clothes than you need to - you can always take off some layers.

I may post this as it's own thread - I would like to hear some feedback from the Canadian nerfers too.

Hey, I will try to make it. This sounds SICK. I just got a bunch of new guns. I will bring my Swithch Shots Ultra and spray you with freezing cold water. (I will add alcohol to the H2O so it won't freeze)

I'm not going to come, for distance reasons, but just wanted to share that you should not use air guns. Cold does terrible things to pressure ratings of nerf gun hoses.

Just use your most durable guns. Stuff held together with hot glue will break. Pretty much everything will lose range. Also we probably shouldn't play any tower rounds since that will lead to more stefans breaking due to all the hard surfaces. But for now we should just keep this thread as a who is coming and planing the date. I'm sick of having bajillion page war threads.

My vote is for the 3rd.

Any date is okay for me. I never seem to have much going on in the winter. As far as prefered ones go, the 17th would be nice because beaver can come then, and you guys really need to meet him.

Agreed with Sam, only posts about the date for now please.

Sam and Tators, why the 3rd? As usual I'm going to cater towards the date that invites the most people.

(though, since it has been too long, I will cater more favorably towards the vets)

I will be back at school before the 17th, so that is a no for sure. The 10th is the weekend I go back, so there is a chance I won't be able to make that. Thus the 3rd is my choice.

As it stands right now, the 3rd is a no go for me (that's still tied up with Christmas/New Year's gatherings) but either the 10th or the 17th is fine.

I'd vote for the 10th or the 17th aswell. It would be helpful to have it after christmas, so then maybe I can use some money to buy more modding stuff.
