Hello everyone. As you can teel by my post number, I just got validated. I plan on posting an introduction thread soon enough, but I thought I would contribute something (possibly) usefull first. I have been too lazy as of late to go and purchase any new barrel material. I also do not currently have the resources to apply new barrels if I had said material. So I came up with this:

That material for the barrel extensions would be paper.

On my new AT3K. After I drilled out the God-awful Air Restrictors, the darts would not hold in there. Here's how you do it:

1.) Find a nice piece of paper. cut it to a desired length and wrap it snugly around the dart.

2.) Hot Glue the seam to prevent air loss from the side. Apply hot glue to the bottom rim.

3.) Insert into barrel and wait for it to cool.

But you probably knew that. It's really easy. I did it on my BBB (before it went broke-dick), and it worked great. Now, I have it on my AT3K and my:

Titan. And it works surprisingly well. But I will make a topic for that later. Surprisingly, it works wonders. Here are some more pictures:

So there. I hope you guys find it useful. Seriously, give it a try. It does work well for something so unusual.

Thanks.

Schmeh. Honestly, people have done this for years. I myself did it to my Sm1.5k originally. Kudos for contributing though.

You'd need to find a way to protect the paper (better than you did for the titan). A good thing about the paper barrels is that you could get a perfect fit on your darts.
Pros:
• Lightweight
• Affordable
• "custom" fit for your darts
Cons:
• If it gets wet...
• Crumpled
• Putting in the darts at the top might scrunch the paper
• Not breech capable

I'd find a better way of reinforcing it. Nice idea though.

Introduce your accomplishments - blasters, mods, paint jobs, whatever. Those are what matter here.

You forgot one:

Good idea and a replacement. If I only had paper I would do this. But alas, I have resources...

Invest in some nerf supplies. If and when you go to a war which you should!

I dunno if this is what you were trying to say, but this would be a good last minute back up at a war. A great quick fix or something.

At a war? Hot glue?

I know it has rules about it in the CoC, but I felt I must add the stereotypical "lol" for good measure.

On Topic: Thanks for all the constructive criticism. It makes me happy to see people saying nice things about my first topic. Thanks.

He could try 'construction' paper for the barrels, that way they'd be much more rigid. However, in my experience with making paper barrels, it is critical that you wrap the barrel carefully, otherwise you'll end up with a screwed up seam that will stick out inside the barrel. Anyway, maybe a cheap way to 'waterproof' these barrels would be to hot glue some plastic bags around them, so that any water (or other fluid) doesn't run into the paper.

Or, he could apply the same concept except with fairly heavy gauge aluminum foil or duct sheeting.

EDIT: Also, you can use other things in place of hot glue for a war Just Some Bob, a good cyanoacrylate glue (i.e.: krazy glue or super glue) or fishin' glue is perfectly portable and dries rather fast.

When speaking about a swallow, always make sure you know whether it is an African or European swallow. It is very important.

Yeah, that's what I meant. If you can't replace it with brass or, say PETG, you can use this as a fix. Tape & paper ninjas for the Effeminate win.

I used the paper inside the barrel of my NF, cut it off at the end of my real barrel, and it makes the barrel tight enough for a great shot. This stuff works great!
