Great job everyone who came out and nerfed! It was great fun seeing people from last DCNO and meeting Talio.

Post pics, movies, war storys or just simple "Like/Dislike" lists here!

Liked:
NOT running out of darts (I used a est. 150~ darts. A container and a half.)
Selling all my AT2k's and my BBB.
Sticking with Talio and getting accurate shots while he covered me.
SuperSalvo preforming as well as I hoped.
Longshot also preformed well.
Getting to see the Rev.2 +Bow.
Getting to meet VACC and Talio.
Getting to meet SplitLip.
Getting a new nickname, 'Pluto'.
Getting at least 10+ hits on people. Mostly thanks to my Super Salvo.

Disliked:
NOT selling my hornet.
Night finder and Longshot breaking. :(s
Heavy rain at the end.
Shoes getting REALLY wet.
Getting shot at close range by VACC's +Bow.
NEW My Marvelous Salvo's hot glue breaking off of my SuperMaxx1.5k once I got home. SO THANKFULL it didn't happen at DCNO. I'm redoing it with Plumber's goop now.

(FYI, my Super Salvo, if I didn't introduce it to you, was that SM1500 with the Marvelous Salvo strapped to it. See my sig.)

Although I couldnt see at all towards the end the rounds that did have rain were fun.

I loved this war. I have to admit this was a great war and had alot of highlights to it.

Main Highlights:
-Getting to use my soon to be bought Rev2 plus bow
-Getting a at2k and a sharpshooter 2 from OMC
-Meeting Groove
-Meeting Slug
-Pretty much meeting everyone that came
-Kicking some ass, Got like 15 +hits
-Getting my new Nerf Strong wristbadd
-Not having Dark Shrimp say "GET SPARTAN" the entire time, He said that a lot at Mill Creek
-And buying some PETG

But there were also only a few downers

Down Sides:
-Getting Shot in the cheek by VACC with his Plus Bow
-Colliding Ice trying to barrel tap him
-It raining and making my guns socked
-Having to leave early because of rain
-And THE TRAFFIC, It sucked

But overall great war Groove. It was nice meeting everyone again or for the first time. Can't wait till ECNO, Maybe Hell and Spring/Fall/Summer DCNO's. Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. It was so worth the ride .

Oh and by the way. I know that Slug and OMC took pictures or video taped the war. Please post pictures.

I loved it! Even the rain was fun.

Pros:
Meeting Vacc
Seeing Grove, Talio, OMC and Slug again
Playing alot of rounds
Having my longshot work well all day!
Not using so many darts > 100
Getting a shit load of hits

Cons:
Only one, being hit by badger from 2 feet away by a split fire, and we weren't even playing a game!
I'm convinced one of those darts was washer tipped, cause I still have a bruise from it.

dodging all four shots from the titan kid
seeing the rev2 plusbow
finally geting to meet Icespartan1114
Buying a nerfstrong wristband
shooting killakit under the eye and leaving a crazy welt
getting to finnaly see and shoot a snapbow and a plusbow

Overall I must say it took way too long to pick rounds
but other than rounds it was amazing

Great war, had some nice hits and met some people.

Highlights:
- Getting to meet Vacc
- Accidently shooting Ice in the hand from across the field
- Sorry, don't remember who but hitting him in the lip with my SNAPbow.
- Many others like watching Vacc slide and hit the building HARD.

Dislikes:
-Nothing really, I thought the rain actually made it more fun.


On a side note my friend has like a minute video of us charging the other team for that last game of big team battle I believe. I'll have it up soon.

I had much fun, yet again. I didn't become the casualty this war though my knee was throbbing thanks to the weather. I really can't remember much for pros and cons as I am exhausted and my brain is still offline, but my greatest moment of memory was the first round I played in when I got there (Highlander CTF) I was guarding the flag in the second round of it and took out 3 guys trying to take the flag one hit after another. Hell, one of them had two blsaters and missed with both at 15 feet. In those two rounds, I got 15 kills, many of them on the run.

The only bad thing was the meat shields. Seriously guys, if you are out (excluding OMC and Slug as they make it funny), get off the field and stop acting as the meat shield for your teammates. I'm just going to count hits on you guys against your team from now on as you are out and you blocked my shot.

Cons:

It was 15 feet away and they were CDTS with rubber bumper tips. Was a round in play when I got shot in the face at point blank range by a Titan by Talio?

I wouldn't dare use those washer darts that you had as they are just wrong and can cause alot of damage at any range. The bruise is natural. I got a bruise from Forsaken last year when he shot me in the stomach from 70 feet with his ERTL Pump Shotgun. It lasted three weeks. Relax, if it was malicious, it would have been point blank and a different blaster. It happens all the time.

Good times. I've been really half assing it since I came back, but god damn, fighting Groove and Vacc in the same day really set me straight. Needless to say, I pretty felt like shit all weekend due to drinking, smoking and generally being a total asshole. After all the shit we went through to get down there and play, I felt so bad that I barely even participated. But I really fucking enjoyed myself, so I'm gearing up for the next one. Getting my guns modded, not smoking, some target practice and a couple of hours of cardio and I'll be making you all my figurative bitches rather then just for real fucking you behind in the bushes like I normally do.

Oh yeah and Vacc...You had something on your pants in one of those pictures. Not sure what it was.

Well, that was certainly a wild ride.

Thanks for everyone for braving the drive and the weather, I think it's safe to say we lucked out for as long as we did with just minor clouds of mist. The final downpour that did us in around 4pm was pretty awesome to Nerf in, you have to admit. Given the late start and the weather, the war had a laid back, low-key setting which I found particularly nice. Looking back now, we did squeeze a lot of good rounds in to a day with shitty weather.


Anywho, on with my highlights:
+Arriving early at 9:00 only to have the first person show up at 9:45. Fucking weather.
+Meeting a LOT of new Nerfers, several people on these forums, and introducing new people to Nerf.
+Starting with 14 people the first round and ending up with 26 during the height of our day.
+Trying Highlander CTF, and a 1-Flag CTF was fun and entertaining, also something new.
+Seeing people excited about NERFSTRONG, and wearing them with pride.
+Having Talio hug me was like being hugged by a goddamn skyscraper; scary and whimsical.
+Getting to see OMC's infamous "magic trick" with his white bandana...both amazing and grotesque.
+Watching several people slip and fall in the mud and water patches littering the field.
+Scoring several moving head shots on people during the many TDM's after lunch.
+Scoring a 3 consecutive hits when I turned the corner on one of the portables.
+Running past (I think it was) ice, shooting through the wooden banisters and hitting his LS.
+Poking out from behind the shipping crate and letting loose two shots into NerfOnFier's chest.
+Nerfing in the rain at the final round was fucking Effeminate. I don't care what anyone else says.
+The after party with Talio, Langley, Splitlip, Crankymonky, Slug, Jlego and myself. Fucking awesome, guys.


All in all I'd say it was a good war; not quite normal to DCNO standards but much of that was out of my control with the weather and the problems that arise because of it. To address the problem with downtime between rounds, it comes when (and not to stereotype here, but) some of the younger/new guys spend a little too much time picking weapons, finding darts, buying and trading between rounds. This has always been an issue at large-ish wars, and it's hard to get the collective attention of 20+ people that are all in the middle of doing something different. Having a large amount of new people threw a wild card into the equation when it came to picking teams, and I couldn't very well make pre-determined teams before the war given the factors of uncertainty. It's very difficult for me to balance the needs of the vets with the needs of the newer, inexperienced guys - we had a WIDE variety of skill levels and experience there. So, I don't want to be a dick, but there's going to be a set time limit between rounds from now on to streamline things.

Alright, fuck, I guess I'll elaborate.

Things that went well:

- Meeting and, more importantly, touching Ice. It was like hugging a rainbow!
- I did pretty much everything I wanted to as far as running and scaling terrain and my knee is pain free as I type this.
- Hitting pretty much everything I wanted to all day thanks to the new trigger on my +bow.
- Never getting eliminated in any round throughout the war and winning every deathmatch.
- Akward male bonding for 8 hours, round trip, with OMC and some other kid....and sleeping at Paul's place without actually having to sleep with Paul.

Things that I cannot categorize at the moment:

- Falling on my ass in the mud twice after scoring a hit. The first time was funny because I had just shot someone and yelled some manner of demeaning remark, while the second time felt...well...redundant.

Things that did not go well:

- Getting in a slight car accident on the way to some kid's house before OMC and I carpooled down.
- The field was painfully bland aside from the mud pits which I seemed to find regularly.
- Scoring some painful looking headshots (one from far too close on sluggy before my second plunge). Anyone who claims that headshots are proof of skill in nerf is either full of shit or kind of an ass. I never aim for the head, so when I hit someone there I either missed or misjudged their movement.
- Icespartan....what's up with that kid. What a dick.
